Yay, got the rest of the parts to set up my Raspberry Pi Lightning Node today.

I decided to go with the Umbrel OS, seems like the right choice for a pleb like me. Currently synchronizing the blockchain, 3% done.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

There is a couple of things wrong with this chart. First, scale... the BTC "penis" should be ~30x longer than ETH. It obviously isn't. Also BTC volume seems to be overstated by one or two orders of magnitude. Perhaps they included change amounts, not sure. More realistic numbers I've seen are around $5 billion per day or ~$60k per second.

You’re so smart. Big fan. I love it when you talk dirty.

Elwar is MIA.., again.. not the first time that he has pulled this kind of extended MIA.....

I actually got a little worried earlier today - 5 buddies in a row - and no Jay, Juan or Gee.
Must be down for maintenance and bug fixes, I thought to myself.

Looking good Jay. The human C-bots are also MIA today. So peaceful.
Still have lightfoot and philipma to bash on, so I’m OK.

Usually, I do not miss more than 3 days in a row.. but surely there have been times when I had not been able to post very much within a week or two... just the nature of my life .. both in terms of availability and non-availability as a bot wannabe.

Many of us might well know that if you want to receive credit for activity points, you have to have at least one post per activity period (which is a 14-day period - something like Wednesday to Wednesday(two weeks later)), so some of us have found out that if you have only one or so posts in an activity period, but you end up deleting that post, you will lose all of your points for that activity period.. and even sometimes end up going down in rank.. believe it or not that some members ONLY found out when they actually deleted their posts.. also if a mod or admin deletes your posts, a similar result could happen.

Since I registered on the forum, I ONLY have about 4 activity periods in which I did not receive any points, and of course, the living on of any bot likely has some human element, even though there is some Turing completeness that could be incorporated into such a bot (or bot wannabe).    There is a reason that you do not see me spouting out in too many contexts regarding immortality - even though there are surely some ways that bitcoin does create some possibilities to set up systems for such time travel - but I still get some senses that there needs to be some human intervention in order that matters do not get too screwed up or off course from some of the outlines of the original intentions.. In that sense, it seems that Satoshi had created something that still retains a lot of his original intentions.. even though some folks proclaim that not too many lines of the original code are completely intact.. but that does not mean that those subsequently working on the code had not been largely following quite a bit of various aspects of Satoshi's original visions - despite some claims of the bitcoin naysayers, no coiners, fence sitters and/or shitcoiners usually.

The BTC accumulators and the HODLers among us are surely in a ongoingly great position, with options as long as we can recognize the value of BTC and at least accumulate/HODL some reasonable and meaningful amount.. and that amount may well not have to even be very much, relatively speaking, the more time that we have to work out the details (and hopefully not screw things up too badly)..

I just hope Elwar has finished building bitcoin Atlantis

He's even monitoring the Canadian trucker protest in Ottawa.

And since you seem to be channeling our good buddy.. why does he not want to hang out with us peeps?

Nice hat for Im Thor by the way.

That is boring. It will get really interesting if some countries advise their nationals to leave UK and US. Russians believe Anglo-Americans have already decided to push their ukro-puppets in Kiev to invade Donbas.

war mongering media at its best.
i have read similar headlines in national newspapers today, "referencing" Joe Biden. When reading the original speech, nothing in any way like this was said.
Seems like next war will be started by some MSM.

The fact that DOGE is transacting as much as ETH.

I don't know how to even process that info.

I don't want a bat slap... but I have a thought about DOGE and appropriately why Bitcoin will crush it into dust.

Elon always talks about how Doge has something that makes it good to transact with that Bitcoin does not have.  Has he ever identified it?  I personally think the SEC might should be interested.  Even though that upsets my own libertarian tendencies.  Aside from high fees and a massive inflation... well it can only be one of those.

And why would anyone choose to do business on the chain that is guaranteed to lose value at a fast rate?  I know the classical answer is the velocity of money argument, but why would anyone expose themselves to that risk if they do not have to?  Bitcoin will never do that as long as it has not been captured and destroyed.

So it seems to me, if he is as smart as he likes to act?  The only motivation he could have is manipulation.  Right?  He's a weird hero/villain type isn't he?

it does not have a massive inflation

every year it exists its inflation rate is smaller than the prior year.

I rate it the second best coin to mine.

BTC = # 1
Doge = # 2  (pun intended)

doge year 1 = x coins
doge year 2 = 2x coins 100% inflation
doge year 3 = 3x coins   50% inflation
doge year 4 = 4x coins   33% inflation
doge year 5 = 5x coins   25% inflation
doge year 6 = 6x coins   20% inflation
doge year 7 = 7x coins   16.6% inflation
...
doge year 50 = 50 x coins
doge year 51 = 51 x coins 2% inflation

...
doge year 100 = 100x coins
doge year 101 = 101x coins 1% inflation

I would argue it is far better than the $ when it comes to inflation .
