Firstly Op when you say blacklist what are you referring to? Are referring to coins that you would never attempt to transact with? If so I think coins that will fit into someones blacklist categories are pump and dump coins and tokens except of course the person in question Works with pump and dump coins. Fact is to just be careful on the kind of coins you placed your investment in .

One has to do proper research to prevent making the errors of investing in a coin that would dump sooner. Infact I wouldn't advise anyone to place their investments on altcoins because a majority of them are way too volatile and don't have a proper store for value.

I agree, there is no explanation from the OP what he means, but I probably think that he means that there would be no thought about having any actions done with this coin in the list Wink

New alts and shitcoins can be real volatile nightmares you are talking about, but what about the big guys? They are here to stay, in my opinion and will bounce back even if the times are harsh, that would be a matter of time.

To blacklist a coin means it’s most likely a scam but I have not (and hopefully never) encountered an altcoin in which I invested in and basically got me scammed. I can only of course talk by experience as I am not aware of all and every coin out there.

So far in 2024, I have not hears a massive scam that was really blown out of proportion. For it to be widely known, it should have had thousands to hundred thousands of victims. It would be devastating but could teach us a very valuable lesson.

I agree. The only coin (or token) I can "blacklist", so to speak, is the one that I just don't think will be a good investment and an interesting project, the token of the ChainGame which I've got from a bit of activity in it. The allocation was really bad and people left the project, now, even trying to do something else, their team struggles with audience coverage (if we compare the hype between the two).

When there are thousands of altcoins, it is not possible that I can blacklist all of them because they are too many and most altcoins are shitcoins, just only few of them are good but they are highly volatile. Their volatility makes them very risky to invest in. And one thing I hate about the altcoins is that they are not getting to all-time high.
I always only look at the top and potential altcoins. and all other shitcoins are in my blacklist. there are thousands of altcoins in the crypto market so it is not possible to mention my blacklisted altcoins from there. coins I don't like and won't invest in are blacklisted coins. If you talk about shitcoins, memecoins, they can give huge profits, but since they are highly volatile, investing here is risky like gambling and Gambling is something that is not on my wish list.

I agree that only the big alts on the list are usually worth the time and investment, however, with good analysis or some insides on hands, memecoins too can be good to play around with. Of course, they can't be the main part of the portfolio (in my opinion), but they sure can be a good asset to work around.

Besides, things move so fast that by the time a coin could get into a blacklist, that coin is already crashing and if you were invested in that coin you can kiss your savings a goodbye.

It is because of this that a whitelist makes the most sense, and I only have one coin there and it is bitcoin, as there is literally no coin on the market that can compete with it, and I do not think this is going to change at all on the future.

ALL Tokens, I'm not even reading into what they can offer - if it's not running own chain, it's a worthless premined crap.

XRP has its own chain, even though it's a "worthless pre-mined crap". The thing is, people don't care about this as long as they're able to fill their pockets with money. Who has time to study the economics and network design of zillions of altcoins available on the market? People just buy what's hot at the moment, and forget about the rest.

I'd personally blacklist every single altcoin, except truly-decentralized ones like Litecoin, Dogecoin, Monero, and Grin. There is too much garbage on the market. By choosing the right coins, you can rest assured your investment will last a long time. The crypto market is unpredictable, so expect the unexpected. Cheesy

I never blacklist any altcoins, because an still focusing on bitcoin investment base on some benefits am receiving from bitcoin investment, whenever the bear season dominate and it will make altcoins price to dominate for their investors to trade to earn income from the market, Based on what I heard about Ethereum, I don't think I will invest my money on it, because the gas fee is too high compared to other coins because investors are investing for income purpose, but if the income is little, it will not make investors to be happy which is the reason I like bitcoin, because the gas fee is very low for their investors to earn good income, Even though, am going to blacklist any altcoins in the future, Ethereum will going to be the altcoin, I will blacklist base on the high fee that involve.

Blacklist? I have never backlisted any altcoins, and this could be for the reason that I do not venture into coins' investments anyhow. I do my thorough research and even if they've not been performing yet, they would later, so I do not even go near the blacklisting, it's a huge word to say the list. However, there are many coins/tokens I will not go near, and I collectively call them shitcoins. This shitcoin of a thing is also subjective, which is why what many would call a shitcoin may not be shitcoin to me even as some people believe that all altcoins are shitcoins which I will never agree to.

Nevertheless, I don't think that I am ready to look at the coins below the market cap rating of #500 in ranking no matter what the coins pose to offer me.
I mean the ones you go "I would never invest into this" is the one you blacklisted yourself, which is probably enough. I have plenty of coins and tokens that I consider as things I would never put money into, don't you have any of your own that you would never put money into?

You say there are some you do not go near to, and that should be enough, think about those for a moment and that means you have a list that you are not going to invest into, and that is exactly what people are talking about when they say blacklisting something. Of course there is also an official blacklisting process, which you can do at places, but I do not think that you need to be doing that much to consider yourself having a blacklist project, just not investing is enough.

Out of the thousands of alt coins I will blacklist the ones I don't want to invest in because I haven't invested in them, and don't want to in the future. Directly I cannot blacklist any coin by reference. It will only depend on you which coins you invest in or not because you will understand better if you do proper analysis or research. When you understand where you should invest and where you shouldn't,then you will know what to invest and what to blacklist. All I can say is that you will find a lot of meme coins, altcoins to include in the blacklist.

I know that people would blacklist some of the altcoins that pissing them off but it is not really good to blacklist all the altcoins or any altcoins because you might need to answer a question even though your not not using it but you can study how it is and whenever there is a question arise then you can say something about it. Even bad and r good all follow. No knowledge is wasted in the cryptocurrency community because you will use it to help someone.

There are many meme, airdrop and shitcoins to be blacklisted but that is not show it will work.

Has anyone blacklisted any altcoins recently?Share your blacklist! Let's help each other steer clear of trouble!
Meme coins are in my no list forever. I do use it sometimes to withdraw it to bank account because it's faster and cheaper in terms of fees. But for trading purpose I don't really like dealing with them for obvious reasons, it's too easy to manipulate these coins just with single hype and it instantly dies once it's over.

Even though you can get ridiculous amount of money if you are lucky enough, but considering the risk I have to face, yea I don't really care too much.

I don't know if I wanna blacklist any coins or tokens, cos you never know that once you're out. The coin starts pumping out of nowhere like it waited for me to get out lol..

But I don't like ICP anymore.

Don't get me wrong but there are coins that needs to be blacklisted I understand your point of view but accepting all the coins is really not advisable though I may not actually be the right person to advise you on this but sometimes don't judge or trust a coin based on the move it has made because you could decide to follow the move and invested the next day it drops to zero, so even if you most follow coins but at least you should be very careful or do more research about it.

of course there are many altcoins that are blacklisted because they do not provide profits and only losses that I experience such as in LUNA investments also with some damn meme coins. well of course this is an experience for me not to be easily tempted by meme coins that offer big profits.

Simply: memecoins, 99.99% are pump and dump schemes. To me, any memecoin in top 100 is a disgrace to crypto, even Dogecoin.

I'm not totally closing my doors for meme coins since there are some interesting project exist. But majority of them is out of my scope particularly those obvious scam which doesn't give us any clear tracks or roadmap on where they are possible heading in future.

Also I'm not accumulating any privacy coins for personal reasons. But other than these I think not since there are lots of opportunities we can grab on multiple altcoins in the market so we should take advantage on their existence and if there's chance that we can earn then go with it. As long as we don't do any critical action and make sure that we are more smarter than anyone out there then dev cannot rug pull us since our knowledge is enough for us to help and avoid to became so greedy on holding their tokens.
