Willi when are you starting the next (but hopefully not last) BlockParty?
The last two participants who still have a reservation are currently discussing we should continue or pay out and push the coins into the HODL stack.
When we start a new block party, it will also be shown here. But I think that's it for now and we'll take a break. After the last halving the interest was very low.

Best regards,

Yes we understood, you're unhappy here, feel free to go elsewhere, no need to labour on it.

Keep posts on topic. Yes the luck has been bad, shit happens, that's all.
I have been working here for a year. It was good at the beginning, but I think now it is not the same as before.
Many people are waiting for luck, I think it is better to try other pools.

Like I said, no need to keep complaining, we got it the first time; any more and I'll start deleting your posts. Nothing has changed at the pool. Luck is beyond our control, but feel free to go looking for it elsewhere.

So many numbers and so little time
CKpool's bitcoind masks those services (even though they're active) except to whitelisted clients because it doesn't want the pools' bitcoin node to waste bandwidth seeding new nodes.

Thanks for confirming, I figured there was some configuration behind it.

For the most part I've never had any issues mining to the pool except over the past couple of weeks where things were behaving oddly.

Like I said there was a run of very low share sizes to the point it became noticable from the norm that i'd been seeing and then the odd dropped share for a while.

Otherwise its been rock solid and all seems to be running just fine presently.

Cheers G.

The pool is not working as well as before and it is not transparent and I feel that the devices are working in empty space. I transferred half of my power to another pool and it was more effective.
pool:kano.is
tnx ck

I've seen a couple of "oddities" with the pool recently. Noticably low value returned accepted shares barely above the requested difficulty and the failure to submit shares I posted about the other day (though that problem went away after about an hour).

-CK assures us that everything is running OK and I have to take that at face value.

However, I have had the gut feeling something's not been right for a couple of weeks now.

I just checked the pool status here https://bitnodes.io/nodes/51.81.56.15-8333/

Not sure if the services notifications are anything to go by. Other pools I've checked seem to be advertising these OK, so I wonder if that may be the issue.

Anyway, if there is anything wrong I'm sure CK will find and fix it.

Pool's running fine. Probably some networking issue somewhere in the matrix.

Thanks, the issues seemed to go away after about an hour. So I expect you're right some glitch somewhere in the Matrix.

Is the pool running OK?

I've seen a number of lost share notifications today

Code:
[2024-07-16 17:21:43.282] Lost 1 shares due to no stratum share response from pool

I also noticed a few big drops on the SPS & user graphs on the stats pages

Hope its just a glitch.

Thanks

So how are the next block parties going?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.64280332

Since the interest after the Halving has dropped significantly, I would now continue the block parties until number 70 and then pause if the interest does not improve.

Best regards
Willi

I understand how the pool works, it has to tune to a balance between number of shares reported and bandwidth. It looks like ckpool is steering to once ever 2 seconds or so. Starting with 10000 isn't that bad, and for a high performing miner that's probably too low, for a low powered miner that's too high, but it's a good middle ground. For a BitAxe it takes between 1-2 minutes to find an acceptable share.

To not accept a suggested difficulty from a miner I can understand, and is not mandatory for a pool. However, if the pool suggests a lower difficulty, it's weird that it doesn't accept this new difficulty until about 40 seconds after this message. In the stratum protocol it states: "The miner should begin enforcing the new difficulty on the next job received.", but switching to the lower difficulty at that point first will result in several shares accepted with 'Above target'. Not sure how to interpret this error message as well, or I'm missing something in the protocol, that could also be the case.
You can suggest a difficulty here if you use the --suggest-diff feature in cgminer, unless of course it's a broken fork that doesn't support it. I've no idea where the fault lies with the shares above target - be it the driver or the pool end - but shares have no intrinsic value here so I'm not interested in investigating further.
