Yes there are a lot of ways to create a community then they like a product like a new type of coin. such as eBtc and e .... more
they make a coin and introduce it using the airdrop method, it's popular and will become a competitor of ICO. Roll Eyes

Besides having a bounty campaign and a signature campaign, what are other forms of promotion for an ICO that is essential to its success?

Of course a good underlying product is important and a white paper that explains it but as far as marketing vehicles is concerned - are there any other avenues worth exploring?

For an ICO to be successful, the main thing is to run a signature campaign that pays out in btc because bounty campaigns wont reach out to people that much like btc signature campaign. The next thing is vigorous promotion of your ICO through all crypto related adnetworks . I suggest you to display your ads through all big and small bitcoin based adnetworks. Dont forget about google ads. The next thing is promoting your ICO through  facebook, reditt and twitter. The secret behind a successful ICO is nothing but vigorous promotion of it.

Thank you for these tips, much appreciated

You should consider hiring a Digital marketing agency like Mine, that has specifically helped other ICOs in the past to close millions of dollars in funding.

I believe you should have your own marketing department if you want to deliver quality and would like to be in touch with your community.

you need a good product

That is my perspective too. The right product for the current stage of the market development is the key.
Developing a blockchain product and preparing an ICO, ask a couple dozens of investors if they invest in it, and you'll be able to predict how successful it'll be.

Just make sure you dont do what red pulse did which means making an announcement to a closed slack group telling them the official start time is 2 min after the hour and letting the entire other investment community know that its on the exact hour.

And what was the profit of it?

As I see it, you need a good product, proficient and responsive team, advisors with rich background and it is good to have community support.

Once you will find different community members fighting for your project that would mean that your ICO will be a successful one.

An actual idea... Something new and useful that would actually be worth investing in.
ICOs are all the rage nowadays. A new 'coin/token' seems to launch on the daily. Majority of them are useless clones just looking to make quick money through an ICO.
You can advertise a coin all you like, pay for a signature campaign and the like, but at the end of the day what will actually make the ICO a success is if the coin actually has potential.
The people buying into the ICO want to see something worth investing their money in.

Media partners and good exposure to site where people stays and you can follow how other successful ICO do their successful works since you might gonna get some Ideas upon executing there ads to became popular and some other ICO devs use the social media sites,Coinmarket Cap ads and any other popular site advertisement but this is so expensive and you should invest on this so that your ICO will be see as good by the eyes of the investors.

Some ICO are not Successful as what they are Expecting why?
Because some of it Doesn't reach Their Expected amount of The ICO.
There Are also reasons why some campaign managers got negative trust because of some signature campaign, They say that paydays will be paid for the exact date that they have given.
and some ICO's Got reported, Reason of Unsuccessful business

Excelent question! My team and I are organizing the upcoming ICO of www.Swapy.Network.

We have a few strategies:

Ambassadors: These are the people who believe in the project and are going to get 5% (in tokens) of what they convince others to invest, up to 500 tokens per commission.

CrowdInvesting plataforms: These can charge between 3% to 7% of the value raised in their plataform. That is quite expensive. if you raise USD$10Mi and pay 5% in fees, that is $500k in fees. However, in the bright side, they can help you model your ICO and advertise among their networks. We still did not decide if we are going to do it independently or with their help. We are currently evaluating three options:
(1) Bank to the Future (https://bnktothefuture.com/), (2) Argon Group (https://argongroup.com/) and (3) Blockhaus (http://blockhaus.io/).

If you have any other questions or ideas, please join our Slack Channel (https://slack.swapy.network/), we have discussions about ICO strategy there.

Best,

Edmilson
