Well as you just said, it is one of the most difficult things to master in crypto. You have to learn a lot and follow a lot of discussions so as to get the know-how. Well, to me I think you can personally determine whether you're now a good trader or not based on your trading profile(your profits you accumulate and your ability to detect prospective coins and so much more).

Yes day trading needs skills and experience is the best teacher when it comes to trading. Every trade you do you learn something. It depends on the person on how determined he/she is to learn and with the right people who will guide them. I know some people who trades for 3 years but still they ask people and even learning from new ones. So it really depends on you buddy.
I suggest you start learning TA's (Technical Analysis). Will help you a lot in your day trades.
Experience is the best strategy for that. Even if you are a newbie but you've learn on yourself the strategies in trading, you can still be an expert just a lesser time than expected. Though i must say that trading is risky and uneasy there are a lot of ways to learn it with an engaged efforts.

I can't answer it directly because i have a long time to learn from 2014 im in bitcoin and doing some trading with shitcoins. It can be learn in rush it will be learned step by step from taking knowledge in researching and followed by techincal anaylsis and so on. This depends on a persons time and effort how he will pursue to learn this things as experience will stand as his coach and mistakes willl be the challenges.

I think not only skill, patience and hard work is needed in daily trading. by always seeing the state of the market every day, and doing a strategy that can generate profits.
