Some asswipe has placed a bunch of buy orders of .1 MSC in fractionally different prices of .2252x where x ranges from 0 to 9:
This is clearly an attempt to prevent display of other prices for larger amounts.

We're thinking about a mecanism to further prevent this. This is considered abuse and could lead to the account being banned.

until this is "fixed" you can look here to see other prices: https://masterxchange.com/api/orderbook.php

true.

you also have a chart display of the order book here : http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/pair/msc/btc/masterxchange

Hmm been a while since I lurked this topic but noticed that WOT gave masterxchange a scam site rating don't think it was mentioned before

Perhaps masterxchange.com would be better off charging a fixed fee to place orders on the order book. Some asswipe has placed a bunch of buy orders of .1 MSC in fractionally different prices of .2252x where x ranges from 0 to 9:

I don't mind paying 0.3%-0.9% for saving me a bunch of time contacting sellers and dealing with escrow.
i am sure you will prefer to pay 0.3% rather than 0.9%. in the end ElDido will do whatever he wants. i am just "voicing" my opinion in advance.

Of course I know people would rather pay 0.3% over 0.9% but you have to consider the risks involved for us:
  • holding coins
  • having our reputations at stake
  • making a mistake could cost us big time
and the convenience we offer
  • security
  • instant trading
  • liquidity

We remove the need for escrows (which ususlly costs around 1% btw) and the need to look for a counterpart to exchange your coins. Furthermore, I'm not afraid to say we attracted a whole new crowd into Mastercoins since being featured on coinmarketcap and by making the acquisition of Mastercoins much easier for newcomers.

Also there is a HUGE workload even after launch, since I'm dealing with dozens of support requests a day and spending a lot of time processing withdrawals. When I said the last days have been wild, I've been refering to me juggling beetween working 10+ hours a day, Christmas celebrations with my familly and a few hours of sleep Smiley It's true the volume is nice and I'll do my best to keep it that way.

I'd like to improve and expand the site and I'm sure people who used our site don't want to go back to the old ways of trading OTC. If you look at it from a price point of view, buying at 0.25 and paying a 0.9% fee means you really buy at 0,25225. I think this is a pretty painless cost for the advantages we offer in counterpart.

But as always, we will listen carefully to the community to try to make the best decisions.

Trades via escrow take long to complete ~24-48h.
Direct trades (buymastercoin.com/btc-market.com) take a huge premium.

With masterxchange.com, I got instant mastercoin at a fair price. I don't mind paying 0.3%-0.9% for saving me a bunch of time contacting sellers and dealing with escrow.
Also higher fees will prompt more competition in exchanges to accept msc.

It seems the following order in Mcoin is not open anymore:

0.1925   60   11.5500   2013-12-17 23:06:12   SyRenity
i also contacted SyRenity to buy the order and he didn't accept. asked Maxmint to tell SyRenity to update his asking price or take it off

It is high, better buy with the 0.3 fee before they change it.
The volume is better now, if they change it to 0.9 they ruin the volume and the exchange.
that's why i am asking them to reconsider. they have an interest to keep the buyers/sellers happy.
ElDido was wise to "listen" to the MSC community feedback so far and i hope it will stay this way.

last few days have been wild Smiley
wild = well deserved profit = 0.3% fee is fair to all sides.

"Until January the 5th, we charge a 0.3% fee upon trades, down from our regular 0.9% fee upon trades"
will you reconsider this?

i personaly think 0.9% is high.
