Don't waste your CPU cycles on the 1GH pool, the guy running it has confirmed his pool does not work with Maxcoin. Here is a tweet from him replying to @maxcoinproject:
1gh does not work indeed with your cpuminer. No stratum pool does, you messed up txids.

1ghs.com is perhaps not paying out, so I would like to try another pool.

But as Max Keiser is only good in front of the TV cam, they haven't even updated https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annmax-maxcoin-pow-asic-resistance-keccak-gpu-mining-438150 How can you not update that page during a coinstart? Where is all the essential information?  Which pools are actually online?

I am unsure of what the above is meant to do.
Do I leave it running?
I read further up in the forum that this site (maxpool.1gh.com) could possibly be a scam.
What does one lose besides using up CPU or is it that nothing gets mined.
How do I exit this process?

for windows

open up a command prompt (windows key + r and type cmd - ok)

navigate to the folder where you extracted maxcoind.exe to (C:\Documents and Settings\varagtp)
so you command prompt is showing C:\Documents and Settings\varagtp>

then type maxcoind then enter
it will load the wallet and all you will see is the cursor blinking on the next line
don't stress it's catching up. (to check open up C:\Documents and Settings\varagtp\Application Data\MaxCoin  and open up the debug.log file to see it catching up. give it 5-10mins

now open up another command prompt (windows key + r and type cmd - ok)
navigate to the folder where you extracted maxcoind.exe to (C:\Documents and Settings\varagtp)
so you command prompt is showing C:\Documents and Settings\varagtp>

then type maxcoind getnewaddress then enter


if i haven't messed it up it will then show you your address.

Any chance of a link to a minerd for Windows? My version of minerd from other coins doesn't understand keccak.
