De La Hoya is 5'10'' and Floyd Mayweather gave him a boxing lesson and De La Hoya was a top ranked boxer.
Conor is 5'9'' and doesn't know how to box and has only fought bums that can't do any striking.
A lot of people thought De La Hoya beat Floyd & was robbed by the judges.
Even Floyd's dad said he thought De La Hoya won that fight.
Conor is 5'9. I think Floyd is 5'8. Floyd's frame is also thinner and less heavily muscled than Conor's.
Uncertain as to who the better athlete is. MMA is different with wrestling which leads to MMA fighters developing more core & leg strength than boxers.
Conor is constantly chewing gum during press conferences to exercise his jaw and strengthen it against punches. That's probably something many MMA fighters have never even heard of. Conor's base is boxing and in his early fights his boxing might have been better than it was during his early UFC fights.
Its really hard to make a technical analysis. No one has ever seen Conor box, seriously against a decent opponent and no one has seen a boxer like Floyd seriously box against an MMA fighter, before.
Floyd Mayweather won that fight, go see it again. I doubt Floyd Sr said that his son lost. It may have been when he had beef, I remember during a time Floyd Jr and Sr hated each other so he may have used that close decision to attack his son.
Diego Corrales was near 6 ft and Mayweather won too, and these are real boxers.
