I don't agree on it being the biggest fight, I could think of a huge list of bigger fights between actual opponents rather than this WWE like game, How can a MMA fighter do a boxing match with someone who is so good at Boxing? This match is an offense to boxing and just proves how anything can happen for money/

I consider this as the biggest fight on our time.

And right now they are completely full force on promoting their fight. I don't know if their moves on stage are just scripted.

It's part of the business.
Whatever it is we already know this fight happens because of money and it could be a scripted fight just to entertain tha fans but I hope it will really happen because I would love to see for the first time an entertaining fight of mayweather.

This is what I've been thinking all the time, everything was staged.

And I'm basing on how they are acting when they are infront of the people during their presscon.

But this is exciting because they are making some noise.
I also believe this was staged. This is like Pacquiao vs Mayweather all over again.
Similar to the pacquiao vs mayweather, they had plenty of drama before they agreed to a fight.
Now this is happening again, and it seems like it is just another one of those mega hyped fights that may not live to expectations.

Well it's commissioned under the boxing official rules of Las Nevas Nevada boxing commission so it's a federated and approved boxing match, it is a real boxing match. We will see if it's a mismatch or not. Floyd may be the best ever, but he is old now at past age 40, let's see how he handles a bigger young guy. He should win but it will be interesting to see.

Yes I think this is the biggest fight this year. They are the big name in the boxing sport industry, and indeed crowd are willing to watch for this. Mayweather may be at an advantage of this fight as he is quite popular  and very experienced one. Hope Mcgregor is also motivated because this is his chance to have a record by giving Mayweather a loss. Definitely will be watching this fight.

@Baofeng Even Mayweather admits that he was the B side when he faced Oscar Dela Hoya,in almost all of his fights, the general viewers sees the opponent winning but the judges have other score cards and that is what we are seeing for a long time, the trick comes when it comes to strikes landed ,on television we see more punches being thrown but in reality only a few shots really reaches the target when you are against Mayweather,he is out for two years and forty years of age,i am sure his reflexes are not the same and that is what excites me in this fight.

De La Hoya is 5'10'' and Floyd Mayweather gave him a boxing lesson and De La Hoya was a top ranked boxer.

Conor is 5'9'' and doesn't know how to box and has only fought bums that can't do any striking.

A lot of people thought De La Hoya beat Floyd & was robbed by the judges.

Even Floyd's dad said he thought De La Hoya won that fight.

Conor is 5'9. I think Floyd is 5'8. Floyd's frame is also thinner and less heavily muscled than Conor's.

Uncertain as to who the better athlete is. MMA is different with wrestling which leads to MMA fighters developing more core & leg strength than boxers.

Conor is constantly chewing gum during press conferences to exercise his jaw and strengthen it against punches. That's probably something many MMA fighters have never even heard of. Conor's base is boxing and in his early fights his boxing might have been better than it was during his early UFC fights.

Its really hard to make a technical analysis. No one has ever seen Conor box, seriously against a decent opponent and no one has seen a boxer like Floyd seriously box against an MMA fighter, before.

Floyd Mayweather won that fight, go see it again. I doubt Floyd Sr said that his son lost. It may have been when he had beef, I remember during a time Floyd Jr and Sr hated each other so he may have used that close decision to attack his son.

Diego Corrales was near 6 ft and Mayweather won too, and these are real boxers.

I think when Mayweather faces Dela Hoya, Oscar was the biggest draw that time. Of course a lot of people will see that Oscar has won. And If I'm not mistaken, Dela Hoya throws more punches but only a few landed on Mayweather as we all know he is a defensive specialist. While Floyd hit Oscar clean. Diego Corrales was a different ball game, Floyd was at his peak that time and God the reflexes he shows is amazing. Corrales (RIP) was the best super featherweight lineal champion that time and Floyd made him look likes an amateur. That is one of the best performance I have seen Floydie in my memory.

As of the news, it says that mcgregor was knocked out in sparring thus it clearly shows that he isnt that focused in boxing, what i mean is that his body build is made for octagon mma because he needed a strong body including legs and foot. This will be a huge disadvantage for him cuz mayweather is built for boxing the foundation of hi upper body and head part is trained thorough to withstand a blow. Hence i say that this is mayweather's win

Source?

I do think that if Connor was indeed knockout in sparring I think this is a good sign that he is training really hard. And that's the point of sparring, to bring out you weakness so that you can still improved it come fight time. I guess for Mayweather, he will used this negative news against McGregor the next time they see on a press conference. He will used this as tool to play minds games against Connor. Or even Mayweather will be over-confident and Connor "might" pull up an upset.

Edit: I found out a link, https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/4034027/conor-mcgregor-knocked-out-sparring-ahead-of-floyd-mayweather/

They mentioned the name Bradley Wheeler as the one who KO Mcgregor and it was Jessie Vargas who told the Media. I don't know how Vargas know the story, but as per article.

"Vargas said: “I heard that they tried Bradley Wheeler but he knocked him out.”

But, according to Connor's camp. Wheeler had never sparred with Connor.

My friend says he heard something about Nate Diaz being included as the undercard for this event vs Adrien Broner?  I tried searching for it online but have found no news about, although having Nate Diaz on would be an immensely awesome addition to this card.

I don't really follow boxing much but please confirm.

Hey tokeweed, I doubt its true because Adrien Broner has an upcoming fight with Mikey Garcia on July 29. in a highly anticipated showdown. I'm going on with Mikey Garcia here. So your friend is wrong about including Bronier with Nate in the undercard.

Going back to the topic, the two is really playing mental games with each other. I think this is really good for the promotion of the fight. Both of them are really good at it. I'm just waiting for Connor to throw in the racial card to really hype the fight even more.  Grin

Oh ok, that's disappointing.  I was kinda hoping that it's true.  That would have made the whole card worth a lot more with the 100 USD payment for the PPV.  It really makes a huge difference.

I saw the press conference it was crazy ,Mayweather owned some of the spots in those conference and it was an entertaining one, when it comes to real fight i do think this will be a one sided match where we could see Conor finding it hard to counter Mayweather.

Who knows? Would mayweather continue to fight like he used to or would he try to set new fighting styles? Would conor keep out his mma style or would he bring that one in? That makes this fight so exciting

Gayweather will win boxing and mma is different, how do you expect Gregor will win?
I think Mayweather would still win this just because he holds everything like the referees and other stuff, probably the judges too. I think McGregor have been paid to lose or something and knowing that, the veteran player Mayweather is, he would still win

Diaz brothers aren't fighting anytime soon.

Both Nate and Nick spar with Andre Ward who compliments them on their striking skills.

That's probably their biggest claim to fame as far as boxing goes.

They tried to make Anderson Silva vs Roy Jones Jr in boxing. I think Silva needed to beat Chris Weidman to fight Roy Jones, unfortunately Silva lost that fight.

Sure ,all the press conference were crazy and i think both Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather had their moments during the press conference,it was real fun and i hope McGregor could keep up his word once again and knock Mayweather inside four rounds and if hey can do that like he believes he can, then it will be history. Grin
both of fighters always provoke his opponent during press conference especially McGregor he sometimes went crazy in press conference but it's necessary to makes their opponent's mental fall and i didn't watching the press conference but some of my friends watching it and they says McGregor threw an Irish flag to Mayweather to provoke him
