Sovryn - Brings DeFi to Bitcoin
December 03, 2017, 10:14:02 PM
Does that even make sense with the current transaction times and fees? You are going to pay more for the fees than for your meal. Unless the fees go down drastically, it makes no sense to use bitcoin as a daily payment method.
The tax will be implied if bitcoin will be legalize as a whole in a specific country by all side or types of transactions. But accepting bitcoin on a fast food chain like McDonald's I think it is just like an acceptance of the system transaction locally, because technically bitcoin does not have taxation reform yet it might have if the government will hand the system of transaction that I think is impossible to happen.
If that happen it is great news for us because it easy to us to make transanction for fastfood like mcdonalds. But there changes will happen in bitcoin if bitcoin accept in mcdonalds because all any fastfood that they should obey the laws and should pay taxes,so automatically bitcoin might be obey the laws of the government.

that's the best news I've heard. Even though I did not earn a bitcoin yet, I'm still happy because we can now use bitcoin to pay in Mcdonald. And because of this good news, I'm sure that the bitcoin will get famous, and hopefully the bitcoin performance will continue.

I really think this is gonna happen in the future because many merchant right now are really getting interested in holding bitcoin right now, and I have realized recently that there are now many in my country that are now accepting bitcoin, And I really think that even if bitcoin doesn't have a huge amount yet back then many had seen the potential of bitcoin to be use in a direct transaction.
If this is really happening then it is a great thing of course. This is a very high advance because in the end bitcoin can be used for everyday transactions. We must appreciate and continue to support places that can accept bitcoin.
If that fast food chain accept bitcoin, how about their competitors like Jollibee, KFC, Greenwich, Chowking and other food chain? Are they also accept bitcoin in exchange of foods and services? Or they still relied to the Fiat? Because competition in the world market still ongoing so I don't that only McDonald's is used bitcoin.

In addition, if the fast food chain accept bitcoin I'm sure that more people will request to less their price the food and services. Since bitcoin is not covered by the government, I'm sure that no Value Added Tax (VAT) will reflect to the receipt of each fast food chain. Because all their income using bitcoin had no tax.

I don't think that would be the case. Value added tax (VAT) is a form of sales tax, so whether or not your income (in bitcoin) had tax imposed on it or not. You would have to pay for it because its a tax on your consumption of sale of goods or services. In other words, the tax is indirect which may be transferred from seller to buyer.

Honestly, I think that it would be too complicated if Mcdo were to accept bitcoin as a form of payment. It's going to be problematic and I don't even imagine it to be able to accept a foreign currency. From transaction fees to taxes, there are too many issues on the matter.

Is that news real? Because I can't see similar posts on more trusted websites. At first I would answer you that if they integrate, it will be like it was on buy starbucks with bitcoins. There will be something like bitpay where people will have bitcoin and buy with it so there will be no fees. Imagine they accept bitcoin users from xapo, coinbase, bitpay, foldapp and etc. We will pay zero fees in this way.

Although I support BTC, I want to know what the practical advantages are? Do you need to pay two burgers for a hamburger?
If this news of course is true then we're paying at least 3 hamburgers.
BTC= the price of the hamburger
BTC miners fee
And the compunding of BTC's price.

Oh dear - more Bitcoin being sucked out of the market to be held by the globalists. They must be really worried by Bitcoin. I guess this is the easiest way to reduce the competition for the banks "crypto" currencies. If McD does start to accept Bitcoin, then you can bet that they won't be selling them back into the marketplace.

Yup, it's a possibility but I think no one would use thier expensive BTS's in a fast food chain. Every one is almost on a frantic race in order to have one so it won't happening now, not next year.

More and more companies are taking note of bitcoin. Fiat money is spent into oblivion, the world of cryptocurrency has arrived! Capitalization is already 330 billion dollars!

And they will dethrone the biggest currencies too, dollrs standing at the top with a trillion dollars market cap. I wonder if in 2018 BTC can surpassed this. Regulators, banks, bankers, some businessman and the whole financial world is in chaos right now. Right time to take advantage of the trends of prices of altcoins and BTC.

I agree with you i personally think that it is great if something like McDonalds accepts bitcoin as a payment then people all around the world will know about bitcoin because McDonalds is a world business.

This is good news. It will serve as a good development for bitcoin im sure the price will once again skyrocket amd more people will know about bitcoin. I hope though that this is legit and not fake news. Also i hope bitcoin does well with it's current fees and trasanction time after all the lightning network has been implemented.

Why would McDonals accept Bitcoin? The fees are way too high for such an application. You would need to spend 20% or more in fees of the cost of your meal just to eat there. I think we need a solution to this fee predicament very soon because it simply isn't going to work well if we cannot spend Bitcoin anywhere that we want to.
They are business so everything that can make their business grow and satisfy their customers, they'll do it for the sake of the profit and business. Sometimes people are too lazy of bringing cash or credit card and just wanted to try new things out there and bitcoin is a good choice for it. Good news though will wait for the McDonalds near to my house to start accepting bitcoin, will love to try it for a Big Mac.

It's seem ridiculous to me. Now i can order a big Mac and waiting for some hour of transaction and pay for more fee than the old day. The popularity of bitcoin is really good and i glad to see many shop accept bitcoin for payment but i think i should let it go to far. Beside, to sacrifice the conveniences of modern life, bitcoin and exchanging website need to improve the speed and quality of the transaction !
But don't count your payment and fee in dollars, cause the number of coins is going to be fixed, right? I'm new here, so I'm not 100% sure, but my logic is telling me so Tongue

The transaction fees might be larger than the fees for the meal itself though. I'm not entirely sure if this is good, but since I hang around in the city it may be useful in the future if those payments go down a bit.

I agree that the exchange fees will be a big downside for actually purchasing a McDonalds meal. I'm not sure this will hold well as it may cost them customers.

If this is true then it is absolutely huge for the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem. It will bring a lot of new interest people and will give legitimacy to the entire market, proving that it is in fact usable and has many advantages over using FIAT for everything.

Now we need to focus on scaling the blockchain, because the adoption is coming in FAST.

Agreed if they actually do end up accepting Bitcoin as a payment then I'm certain many other big companies will hop on the wagon and do the same thing It will allow more people to know about bitcoin and show the public that it has normal uses other than what the media is painting it to be some sort of dark drug currency. And with more people using btc inevitably would lead to an  increase in price  Grin
