...undermine cryptocurrencies and convince the world that it's "not worth it" - maybe, in fact this is the time to get in, before the bitcoin skyrockets?
Any thoughts..?

For reference, here's the article I can across today: http://money.cnn.com/2018/06/18/technology/bitcoin-cryptocurrencies-internet-bis/index.html
The media has played a critical role in trying to destabilize the mines of people towards cryptocurrency. Hard as they try though, the world is actually being informed better about the usefulness of the new money.

The more they publish negative reports, the more opportunity for us to explain the goodness of the cryptocurrency in the new era. Let no one loose sleep over media criticisms.

it is because this technique has been effective so they keep on using it. some of them are only doing it to advertise their own website (get more traffic and earn money) some others are doing it to manipulate the price and make profit from the created chaos.

if people start paying less attention to nonsense FUD about bitcoin on the media and start using their heads and also as the market grows that the newbies who pay attention no longer matter, then we stop seeing this kind of ridiculous movements.

Media always trying to make negative news about cryptos. Maybe they are getting paid by crypto haters to discourage others. Or maybe just looking for attention as positive news will not get that much attnetion compared to articles like these.

That’s all what the mainstream media can do, try. No amount of negative articles can stop the bitcoin juggernaut. Cryptocurrency will become mainstream despite the criticisms.
They are trying to do that but while that is not going to be effective against us since we believe in bitcoin completely at the same time I really do think that their FUD campaign has been able to slow down bitcoin somehow since the average person only gets his information from the TV and some internet sites and if in those places they say bitcoin is bad they are going to believe it, but as reality begins to surface about the frail economic system then more people will adopt bitcoin despite this.

I am not usually move by what is said in the media because the information in the media are either manipulated to be pleasant for hearing and in favor of government or say without proper deep research. Bitcoin do not need approval from media to survive.

No matter what they try to FUD, it's really up to you now. You can have as many information you want with the FREE WWW and start thinking on your own - not like in those days when you had to accept what the TV were saying because there was only one-way-comunication.

So start googling or something and do not believe one at one or first resource.

The media loves sensationalism and the stories that can generate clicks, which is how they earn money. In the same medium outlet they can publish news that associates bitcoin with criminal activities and news about people who became millionaires with bitcoin. Obviously they publish more negative stories because those are the ones that draw the most attention and with which they get more clicks from the readers.

The wise ones are getting in at this point in time when the price of Bitcoin is considerably low. Unfortunately some weak hands keep listening to propaganda and developments  blown out of proportion by the media. If you allow yourself to be fooled by this and fail to invest, then you will have yourself to blame.

This is true, because most of the media doesn't really care which is true or not, they only care on what they can earn, the popularity, the money they get from those people who paid for them to publish an article and this is what is happening right now, there are surely people that pay decent amountof money to those news website or news writers to spread FUD to cryptocurrency investors to make the price go down and to manipulate the market. This is why nowadays it becomes harder and harder to collect legit information on medias because you don't know which one is telling the truth or which one is just got paid to make fake news. This is also why you should not rely on just one source.

I do not think they are trying to get in this market, even if they bought a lot of coins and they still retained their power the truth is they will not be as powerful as before, bitcoin will limit them, for example even if banks bought bitcoin they cannot print it at will in the same way they can do with fiat so we will have a fairer society not only that the services of banks will become unnecessary, so I think all of that propaganda is a real attempt to stop bitcoin.

I think they (Banks) are a bit scared, but don't want to show it. They will tell people different types of disgusting lie about crypto world to save their status and it is in our hands to show the truth to people around us. It will be long and hard way to mass adoption. In 1980s Internet was said not for pictures and videos and now Cheesy The same with blockchain.

I think you are right that nearest 1-2 month are perfect time to jump in Wink Future is here and now it is not very expensive!

Maybe I was actually a little off: today's market seems to go up, and if the trend stays (and it looks like it's gonna stay) it's not gonna be two months, but two weeks at the most.
Happy to see things going upwards!

The article is about a report that was commissioned by dozens of the world's biggest banks. Of course it's going to say Bitcoin is worthless/a scam/a ponzi/a bubble/whatever. They are protecting theiriwn self interests.

I can Google for 100 articles written by flat Earthers that say NASA is a scam. Doesn't make it true.

This is why there are people who don't believe in bitcoin but as a matter of fact, social media users nowadays can be easily influenced even without showing evidence. This is the power of social media, it makes its users ignorant because there are people who don't actually invest time in researching.

Nothing new to be honest, just the media being the governments puppets as usual. Trying to demonise crypto currency because they don't want people to be free. Media has always been used as a means to control and influence the masses but they won't succeed here, I'm sure that crypto will succeed in the end, the banks and the government can't prevent it, it is only a matter of time until the day comes where there will be more crypto users  Grin

That's right, media are catching the attention of all people and always saying negativity about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Maybe because media are handled by the governments so for sure it influencing the media to release or spread negative believes and thoughts therefore the people are loosing interest of involving to this system.

They didn't even mention that there are solutions being developed to avoid paying a lot of miner fees if Bitcoin goes back to $19,000. Also the crypto related articles are all bad news (exchange hack and price manipulation) and when you go on to those two articles you'll find more articles about how Bitcoin and crypto is a bad investment. It's hard to take their articles seriously if they're only going to mention the bad parts of Bitcoin and crypto.

Mainstream media is a big factor why people pay no interest on what bitcoin is. Most reported news are scam related and illegal activities related. People's impression are becoming negative about bitcoin. Right orientation should be given to the public, if people would see it something beneficial more demand will be gained  from the market and price will surely pump.
