I am wondering if we could integrate a merit system using blockchain and how it could work like deflationary tokens. I don't know, I just got interested on what reddit does for their $MOON tokens
So....I was ready to move up to member on Tuesday, now due to this i have to wait until i receive merit points..Garsh
i know how you feel, i almost move up on sineor position then suddenly this new rank requirements has announce,. it's hard when nobody give you a merit.

Don't beg for it, earn it...- I'm guessing by "texting" you meant about limits on sending PM's, am I right?

Yep things have changed now. Creating an account and the going away for years and then coming back, expecting it to have ranked up is now like just lying on top of a woman expecting the earthquake to do the job, It's not gonna work without any effort

Maybe if you created some posts that were more than just a few words each, then some members might recognize you as someone who is contributing to the substance of whatever thread in which you decide to post?
I don't buy it that you do not care at all about your rank because otherwise you would not have posted in this topic and make your observation about your current "newbie" rank/status.
By the way, I do agree with any underlying premise that you might have been suggesting that in order to participate in the forum, including reading posts, your rank does not matter one bit for those kinds of activities; however, even though I have not been obsessed with my own personal rank, I have found that there can be some value in being taken more seriously by members when you have earned some merits (rank, etc.)... And, for example, if you are recognized in the forum, then sometimes other members will be very helpful in answering many questions that you might have, even if they are convoluted or weird...... and sometimes there can be some value, in a forum like this, to be able to bring up certain topics or even to hone in on certain ideas and get people to want to respond to your questions and to take some of your points, somewhat seriously... especially if they are related to bitcoin, but sometimes there might be some desires to touch upon some other topics, too.
I will agree that rank is not the be all end all, even if it brings some credibility and status within the forum......

There was a new Merit system introduced a couple of years ago, essentially it was to stop shit posters & people account farming.
You need a certain amount of Merit (plus the relevant Activity) to increase your account rank. Merit is distributed between forum members for what each individual determines a high quality or useful post.

Looks like Bpip has handled that quite nicely, it does only display 0 merit altough 44 earned...
Bad news for the Merit Dashboard; I believe we're going to have to wait until next friday to see how it handels that update...
I've PM'd ddmrddmr, because this morning we were talkng about a similar scenario in the spanish board; maybe he can hand-scrape this particular case
