MEW is safe but there is some way to secure it. If you keep private key safe any where you want then it is safe and Trezor is the second option to keep safe the my ether wallet because without you no body can open your wallet any where in the world.
Recently, using MyEtherWallet ( MEW ) are having some issues in requesting a transaction and high ether fee/s in sending ether tokens into other wallet addresses. I think the management team already fix it and we MEW users must be aware on signing in our private keys in some exchange/s, so that are wallet won't be hack.
MEW are safe now, but it depends to the url that will type when you want to log in and always check the URL if it is safe or not, because it have a not legit MEW URL and that's the reason that they can scam your token in your wallet, so be careful.
Sites that you have bookmarked, you can trust. Because the site address won't change when it's saved. Since when is MEW not safe? for me, myetherwallet is always safe. If you don't visit a phishing site, then everything will be fine. If you are not sure, you can use the Hardware Wallet to help protect your assets.
I think MEW is quite safe, I have used it for a long time, almost 1 year and until now there are no problems, and the problem is when you log in on a phishing web that is almost the same as MEW, and if you are hesitant to enter the MEW website , then log in to it using an empty MEW account that has no coins in it, so you won't worry if later the web is phishing, hopefully it helps.

Not actualy really safe because im ever lose my eth and i never feel give my privat key to everyone. And now im prefer to use metamask. Still really risk and we need more be careful. No one online wallet is safe.

The phishing page looks the same as MyEtherWallet website, but the address in the browser is different. If you want to be sure that you are entering the right website, do not choose an address from the list, after searching on google, just enter the address manually.

Just be sure you are using the correct official Mew site and be very careful too to avoid phishing links , my MEW was hacked twice .
i will also advise you get a more safer wallets like imtoken , Trust wallets etc where you do not need to login all the time with your private keys. they are both apps, and you are only required to use your password while logging in.

I just saved in the bookmarks those pages that I often use and MEW is also in this list. This is the most convenient way.
There is a new version of mew and it seems like an advanced version, more safe ,because they don't permit to enter private keys, but suggest to use keystore files
MEW still allows to use a private key but does't recommend using it because everyone is often mistaken on the MEW web url that there are lots of phishing simulations that we call, the new look makes it easier for users and safer but still has to be alert to other intruders

Sorry to interrupt mate, I don't think MEW is the securest platform! if you go back last year, then you will see a lot of people faced a hacking attack on their MEW wallet! Without a hardware wallet, I don't feel 100% secure by using MEW or imtoken or even Metamask. But If people use Mew carefully with the recent MEW connect app then they can avoid hackings. Because at this moment, Mew has strong security than before.

Yes, MEW is safer than before! If you have confusion about old bookmarked sites then you may search Myetherwallet term in Google and the real one will come in the first place. Therefore, you should use MEW connect the new app from the MEW, which will help you to secure your coins from phishing or hacking! Good Luck

And for safety precaution, keep the link (the correct link) on a file that we can just copy and paste the link when we need.

everything looks very safe and very easy to use and I always use MEW since it is here but if you feel scared I suggest you put some assets that you have in some mew
