So... I'm sure this has been covered in the forum before. But with all these S7's coming on line this might become a common question.

I've installed the image and have everything working, beautiful job! Interface is excellent!!! I'll have a really nice pic of the touch screen running the Rpi in the mining farm soon:)

I have s7's obviously networked. Is it possible to turn them on and off remotely? I've tried. Attempted off the network from home and on the network here at the office.  Also how can I change the freq remotely? I'd like to overclock them a little while ppl are out of the office.

Thanks much appreciated!

I think you can shutdown them with "shutdown -h now" command by SSH into them but you can't restart them after that. Or you can manually stop (kill) the cgminer process and restart it when you need it but this won't shutdown it completely, for example fans will still work like the network and the operating system.

To change the freq you need to access each Antminer web panel and change the settings there as stated here: https://bitmaintech.com/files/download/Antminer%20S7%20user%20guide.pdf

Unfortunately Minera doesn't support these operations by itself.

Hi,

i get nanofury and redfury to run (only on powered USB2-Hubs) ---> with USB3-hubs i did not get my sticks shown to the OS
Power consumption (to keep in mind for the psu)
Nanofury up to 700mA
Redfury up to 500mA

With bifury (they need up to 900mA) im struggeling  Roll Eyes

Have a nice day

P.S.: using cgminer  Grin

So at least i get all the sticks running, but not as i expected.

The rapsi 2 with 10 nanofurys and  3 antminer u2 are running in USB-Hubs.
USB3-Hubs i did not get running with the raspi.

So i tried an OrangePi and get 2 USB3-hubs running with 6 Bi-Fury and 4 Red fury.

At least two *Pi's* with all the sticks and two minera installations.

Have a nice christmas time to all of you !

USB3 doesn't work with any miners, don't try you are wasting your time, there is nothing you can do but replace the USB3 with a USB

This is not correct !

I've got here a Orangepi with two powered USB3-Hubs and 6 Bi-Furys and 4 Red-Furys connected to 2 USB-2 Ports of the Orange-Pi
Installed with a Debian Linux and a Minera 0.6.2

And the Miner isr Running with full Power !

You are right, it doesn't work with the Raspbian linux distro which is the base of Minera on Raspberry.

I dont think is has something to do with the raspian linux distro. (which has an older 3.x kernel)
(even a brand new 4.x-kernel does not help)
It has something to do how the usb-port is implemented in the hw of the raspbian.

the Network-card and the 4 usb-ports are implemented based on the usb-port (thats why the network speed is max 100mbit)

On the OrangePi there is a Gigabit-Card and a full-implemented 4-port USb-Chip!

Good catch! It's absolutely that the problem.

Is anyone using a Antminer U3 and Block Erupters with Minera ?  Could you post your Local Miner config.

Hello everybody!

I have placed the Raspberry Pi 2 B with the new Raspbian Jessie image yesterday and wanted to install then Minera (0.6.2) manually.

Unfortunately there is after installation an error message and Minera does not run.

The generated link is wrong and when I call Minera with ip.ip.ip.ip/minera it comes a 404 error.

I installed then the old image of Raspbian Wheezy then Minera manually and it runs!

Is Minera modified yet for the new Raspbian Jessie image or running it only with the old Raspbian image? Or have I done something wrong?

It would be nice if it runs with the new Raspbian Jessie image! Thank you for solutions and answers.

Greetz H4gb4rd

This might work for the 404 error it did for me even on a RPI with Jessie https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12945837 .

Try editing the config file for lighttpd

Quote
sudo nano /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf

Change the line to look like below

from , i think i saw in my build
Quote
server.document-root        = "/var/www/html"

to
Quote
server.document-root        = "/var/www/"

Finally run the following

Quote
sudo /etc/init.d/lighttpd force-reload

Hope this helps....

Hi,

I did a new installation with Raspbian Jessie and it works now with this solution! Thanks all for help.

Just started using minera for my 3 gridseed blade pcb's.
At start the system says i got 3 local miners.
But 3minutes later i got 15 :S

hashing at pool says about 9mh/s. so thats ok.
Is this a bug?

Same problem for BFGminer as for Cgminer (cgdmaxlzeus)

from log:

 [2015-11-25 22:40:35] Found GSD 6aa at /dev/ttyACM4

Run exactly the same setup to keep some plants frost free in a greenhouse - ultimate recycling....

Runs fine mostly with cpuminer. though sometimes have to restart the miner from the menu after first boot to get it to settle down.
It will also do odd things sometimes on certain pools, nicehash being most notable. Seems solid on litecoinpool and ghash.

My manual options are set to :-

--gc3355-detect --freq=800 --gc3355-chips=40

This is with a minera image. Had to recompile from source to get minerd running with a manual install on top of ubumtu mate. (it was on an orange pi which may have been the issue)

Or install it like this

Quote
sudo apt-get install -y lighttpd php5-cgi
sudo apt-get install -y mysql-server
sudo apt-get install -y php5-common php5-cgi php5 php5-mysql
sudo apt-get install -y php5-mysql
sudo chmod 775 /var/www
usermod -a -G www-data youruser  ( you also may need to sudo this line.)
sudo chown www-data:www-data /var/www
sudo lighty-enable-mod fastcgi
sudo lighty-enable-mod fastcgi-php
sudo service lighttpd force-reload

cd /var/www
sudo git clone https://github.com/michelem09/minera
cd minera
sudo ./install_minera.sh

sudo ldconfig
lsusb

if you don't mind installing MySQL-server . either way worked for me.

Hi, I have a rockminer r3 and each board is able of 120gh/s. Since like many R3 owner I have reboot problem with original rockminer rpi image so I decided to try minera.

So far love it but I don't know why but with mfgminer each board are only doing 70-77 gh/s each instead of the 120gh/s it's supposed to do.

Do you have an idea of what can cause this ?  I already updated everything I think..

thanks in advance

Just to inform you I updated Minera to version 0.6.2.

This is only a maintenance version to update the dead Ghash.io Multi pool with the LTC one.

I will upload the new image file asap.

are you going to add bfgminer 5.4.* to new versions ? this will help with people buying the sidehack miners that run on the new cgminer and bfgminers

ouch, I forgot that, please guys when you need something open an issue here https://github.com/michelem09/minera/issues because I can't re-read every posts in the forum they are too much but I always read the issues and if there is something I can do I do it.

I hope to include it soon. In the meantime you can always use the build script to update your miners version. https://github.com/michelem09/minera/wiki/Getting-started#build-miners

the build script does not work with bfgminer it errors out back to 4.8 if i remember right which is why i built mine into the custom miner

I also updated Bfgminer to latest version, please do this and you should be done:

Code:
cd /var/www/minera
sudo git fetch --all && sudo git reset --hard origin/master
