I got the same email. Very disappointing. I feel like the the KNC neptune fiasco is replaying itself. smh

So one short delay on one batch and the sky is falling? Typical bitcoiner logic.

What customs paper are you filling out and sending Minerwarez ?

The whole thing is so confusing, why are they making it more confusing when it's such a simple process to import a single device.....

In Australia we only fill out a declaration when the product arrives and submit it electronically..

Most of us are NOT in Australia.
The rules and requirements for importing miners vary WIDELY from country to country.

In the USA in particular, the rules get a LOT more stringent if you import more than $2500 or so in one shipment - and they get CHECKED a lot more carefully for enforcement.

I ordered from the Nov 6 batch and the Nov 20 batch.  For the Nov 6 batch the label was created on Fri Nov 3 and picked up by FedEx ontime on Mon Nov 6.  My hosting location is in the same city so it was frustrating knowing my miners were likely just a few blocks away from where they needed to be and had to wait until Tues to be delivered.  But from Minerwarez they were completely ontime and by the book.

For my Nov 20 order I haven't received any contact yet, but I suspect it to be the same rodeo again this weekend of watching the tracking move only a few blocks over a 5 day period.

For two of my orders they actually shipped and delivered early.  I guess I was one of the first ones in the queue for that batch.

minerwarez.com is offline

They still look online to me.

Has anyone ordered from the Nov 20 sale?  I wonder if the orders will be shipped on time.

I've had them ship on time, or early, every time so far.

I guess there has been some problems with the AUC3 adapters and that's why Minerwarez is doing some additional quality control job.

Yeah mine arrived today and it was the same deal. I'm kinda glad they did, as the last couple that arrived some were missing cables, but I had enough kicking around that it didn't make a difference, just depleted all my spare parts.

I used to just chalk it up to Customs or something poking around to see that the package is what it is supposed to be.

I received another set of 741s today from Minerwarez.  Unlike the prior batches, most of the boxes came pre-opened!  I can tell they were taped shut at one point, but someone very clearly opened most of them.

I haven't opened all of them yet, but those I did appear to be new units, with everything intact.  However it's a bit disconcerting to receive items that were clearly opened.

Did anyone else have this?

M

Same here, this is my first Avalon. I thought at first it wasn't taped or Fedex guy opened it up. But now reading your post, it does make sense now.

I emailed Minerwarez about it and they said:

Quote
It's routine for our technicians to open the AvalonMiner 741 when we receive from China to make sure the AUC3 cards have been flashed and are ready to go.

I'm unclear why half of mine were opened and half weren't.  But... that's okay if that's what it was.

That helps, thanks mate. It's just odd that I have to pay like $280 for a 16*8*9 inches box that weighs 11lbs international shipment.... With customs and VAT added itll come to 500 or 600 USD or something which is almost more than the price for the product itself. Plus the emissions, heat, noise. Absolute bullshit.

We are seeing it in the US as well. Customs all over Bitmain or any miner company for that matter. UPS, FEDEX, DHL... dont make a fuck. They want cash when they deliver, and your social or fed tax id to even release it here in the US.

 Total Bullshit, I agree.

In Australia we only fill out a declaration when the product arrives and submit it electronically.. Why are we supposed to send this form to Minerwarez ? The customs officer told me you only fill it out when the product arrives and write down the shipment ref nr for receipt of items. I don't see why we need to send this paper to the exporter it's not their business.

And for labeling ? In the requirements it is said for electronic goods you only need to type the product description in clear English, include origin country and HS code and that's it. So in my case I'm just supposed to send an A4 paper with description and originating country ? I told them to write it on the box and haven't got any reply. Seriously how hard could it be to just grab a pen and write 3 words instead I'm asked to send an international priority letter writing it for them. Also auspost said they don't have a label for importing. Just wtf is going on !!?Huh

I can't speak to Australia, but your best bet is to go to your local FedEx or ups and tell them what you are trying to do. Then get all documents that they say you will need such as international shipping label, and a word document stating what is inside. Then as per the information on the product page for the miners email it to them.

That should atleast get it shipped and to Australia, not sure how your country handles duty and taxes, but whoever ships it for you should be able to sort it out.

Hope that helps.
