Basically who here would picket the Kremlin with a sign that says "fuck you Putin end the war"

It's not a very good analogy because in the democracy of the "free world" we value and enjoy freedom of expression. So, you're pretty much allowed here to say things like "Fuck you Biden, stop the war!"

Not many of us, so why ask theymos to protest against multiple governments.

Not all protests against governments are inherently or universally negative. Especially when they advocate for human rights.

(Just to be clear, I'm talking in general. I'm not advocating that theymos should openly oppose laws or regulations in this case.)

yes I can march in front of the white house with a sign saying fuck you Biden end the war. ( And resonably feel safe to do so)

and I can’t march in front of the kremlin with a sign saying fuck you Putin end the war (with a reasonable expectation of being safe to do so)

Theymos actions here hint he feels that keeping the mixers up 🆙 will get the forum a Putin action not a Biden action in my analogy.

Do I like that this happened nope.

I am getting older and the work to run the mine is far harder than writing posts on bitcointalk.

I was looking to transition from mining and post for side money.

Most people that know my history since 2012 on bitcointalk know I usually do not sell my space.

But with age and miners getting physically bigger I am tiring out.

Hernia operation last year healed okay but I can feel the mesh strain on heavy lifts.

Hey I wish the mixer ban was not needed. But I do not want to see bitcointalk be closed down over it.

That reminds me of an offer I received years ago for my avatar:

Cryptohunter is a cunt. All it needs to say, biggest font possible sir please sir
I rejected it. For the same reason I'd reject your suggested sign: I think the forum would be a less nice place if we go down this path.
One way or another, it would lead to drama.

If we ban Jambler, we should ban Google as well.

ban bing and all search engines.

While we're at it, let's ban all news publications that report about mixers too.

Nah that is out of bounds since many do not use the internet.

So I would go with search engines and bitcointalk.

The ban cost me well over 3000 usd and frankly I support it.

Would have not wanted to lose my six month prepaid signature contract. Had to refund ⅔ of it. But I think towing the government line still needs to be done.

What some of us in the forum deem to be marginal could be seen by the wider community as not marginal therefore the debates will rage on. Also, regardless of how fair or unfair a situation is, it is possible we will see cases where the community is adamant the business should be allowed to be represented in the forum but maybe theymos will disagree.

And, let us not forget the scenario of vice-versa too. It is will interesting to see if any mixer (or alike) will post to appeal against the ban. If there was an appeal or a request to review their ban it will be something members will probably not find consensus therefore it will create another piece of contention here.

Good point. It is possible that there will be some marginal cases where a mixer service is suspected of being a scam unfairly, so it would be useful if their (un)official representative could address the community publicly and share their side of the story. I guess that in such situations the community will have to make an opinion based only on the evidence presented.

You don't have to constantly follow all the posts in this thread since theymos updated the OP with the new rules. To your specific question, I think this applies:

- Mixer URLs will be automatically wordfiltered out, but you can still discuss mixers otherwise.

So I guess discussions regarding scam accusations and other aspects of a particular mixer site will be allowed unless they clearly serve as promotions. But keep in mind that the direct url to the mixer site might be automatically filtered out.

Thank you for the detailed answer, but I wanted to point out that you did not answer the most important part of my question, which relates to the right of the mixer to join the discussion in cases where he is directly involved, whether that is for explanation or to remove suspicion about him. It is logical that there is an account that has the right to say that I follow such-and-such mixer (with proof of course provided) and to speak in his name as an official representative to discuss a specific situation and never for advertising purposes.

We're waiting for theymos to tell us his decision. Jambler isn't a mixer so he probably won't ban it. It's his forum so we'll have to abide by his rules. If he says Jambler's allowed because it isn't a mixer we shouldn't press the question more. Things are changing in the forum next month we've got to accept it.
Maybe you are misunderstanding something here, nobody here wants mixers banned, and we're not trying to damage any services, people would like to know if they can do the same as jambojet here, lol. you starting to sound like someone I know, he wanted to let things slide as well until early January. 😘

Likewise, you cannot mix coins on Mixtum, Webmixer, [banned mixer] without Jambler.

Just as you cannot visit Facebook without googling it?  Lmao.  You can access these mixers without Jambler.  Some of them are older than Jambler.

Is there any chance that before commenting, you can first inform yourself about what exactly Jambler offers and why we mention it in this discussion? Lmao. Also, do a little research on Jambler's relationship with the mixers mentioned above.

If an exception is acceptable, Jambler does not mix directly under its name, but I do it masked behind several other brands/domains.

This is the side effect of forbidding people from promoting something as abstract as a bitcoin mixer.

This does not have to do with mixers promotion at all, just as you've said already, not all mixers operate under jambler, some have been in existence beforehand, mixers should be viewed on a general approach as an entity that provides privacy services to all bitcoin users, just as you can make usr of the banks and deposit money that belongs to you or the ones you stole, it's less of their concerns how you get it, what only cause for alarm is when the money is too much, mixers appears just from the way they are, it's cannot be regulated on which or who should use them or not.

Frankly, and despite my complete agreement with the general policy of the forum administration, I find that the recent talks are extremely unfair and there is no justification for all this strictness, especially since Themos stressed that he was never formally asked to stop the activities of mixers on the forum.

I can use Jambler mixer (for example: Jambler) in a 100% legal way ; if people decides to go with the non-legal way, not my problem. Same with cars, knifes, meds etc...
FTFY 😂

If we ban Jambler, we should ban Google as well.
Tempting! Can we add all social media to the list as well? They're clearly used to advertise scams Tongue

I'm ok with with twitter (x) Instagram or Facebook, but don't touch YouTube!!!!
REALLY BAD THINGS are going to happen if you ban YouTube links.
I am not ok with any of these. I am going back to the TELE my great Grandpa had. It still works, black and white 😂!

Let me ask a rhetorical question... As an end user, can you mix your bitcoins using the Jambler website? No ... And this is the correct answer.

Likewise, you cannot mix coins on Mixtum, Webmixer, [banned mixer] without Jambler. If by some chance Jambler or any partner mixer from their list was under investigation or seized, it would reflect on all the others and probably at the same time they would all have the same fate.

Regardless of theymos' decision, this is also an interesting question for the authorities. Who is responsible here, the Jambler that provides the complete mixing service or the official mixer partner that only promotes that service?

If an exception is acceptable, Jambler does not mix directly under its name, but I do it masked behind several other brands/domains. Maybe other non-Jambler mixers could adopt this model in a way that promotes the software on which the mixer works. So we could have, for example, tumblersoft.io which is the parent of [banned mixer] mixer or Unidevs, which provides background support to ensure clean coins for Unijoin...
