I did the exact same thing in August when investor profit got a big hit and went negative, and I lost a few bitcoin. I am sorry to see your loss, but looking at the bright side, your loss is not as big as mine and you have a much better self-control than I had lol.

that sounds super super scary. how did u lose? is the hit bigger than the recent hit we had?Huh

It is not even comparable lol. I don't have the exact numbers, but IIRC, in August, the investor profit went from something like +50 to like -20 within a few days.

Try +72 to -28. A drop of around 100 BTC. My own investment went from being +29% to -22% in two days.

woa. that is a huge drop. basically the pot lose all the profits in months to within a few days! so are you still invest in it after that or divest already??

Not my day today. Decided that it would be a good idea to "win back" my investment losses. Yeah, about that - lmao.

Ouch! At least you won that 0.2, if that makes you feel any better, lol.

Score! I lost it straight away though haha. After I won that .2 I was like "one more win and ill stop". Shit's harsh, man. With 8BTC invested I wonder how long it'll take to get back to 10BTC and recover my idiotic loss. Like 6 months? You win some and you lose some I guess.

I'm sorry for your loss but also am happy to see you were able to stop betting before doing bigger damages to yiyur bankroll.
It's not easy at all: happens you feel the urge to recover your losses as soon as possible and it could seem so easy just to double your previous bet and click again.
So, again, happy you did the right, difficult, move to stop betting.

Yeah I'm lucky I don't have an addictive personality. I've heard of many people who've ruined their lives by simply not knowing when to stop.

On the flip side, there is at least one investor (maybe multiple) that divests, plays and profits, then reinvests it all. Same happens with JD.

Gambler's fallacy is a big part of this. "I missed the 1% roll 99 times now. Just one more and I should hit it!"

Wow, taking big hits to my investment from some lucky high-roller. Let's hope his luck runs out before my bankroll does, haha.

Edit: God damn it, this always happens to me. I divest all when I see my investment plummeting and as soon as I divest, the investor profit goes almost all the way back to where it was. Lost 10 days worth of investment in 10 minutes.

You're doing it wrong. Why would you divest right after taking a loss? The guy you lost to is likely to keep playing, and likely to lose his winnings if he does.

As an investor you want high volume.

(Note: I also do it wrong, because I too get scared by big bets).

Yeah I realise that now but in the moment you're just thinking "oh shit, what if this guy just keeps winning?". Logic goes out the window when you're dealing with potentially large losses.

Welcome to bankroll investing. And yes, it's a risk either way. Always keep in mind the JD Nakowa situation, Smiley.

0.2 still can't recover all the loss there. Just in few seconds you will lose much bitcoin there. Thats why people said should play slowly but that is dice games, you should know the risk though, somtimes you will win big and sometimes lose big. Dice will always be like that  Grin

I know there's some investors (like cowbay) who wait until a they see investor profit go down, then invest, and divest when it goes up again.

But all in all, I'm not convinced you will outperform just putting money in (but only as much as you can afford losing!) and forgetting about it for a few months. And for added benefit, help promote some of the MP casinos Grin. For instance, had you put money in at the earlier investment opportunity, you'd now be currently sitting on a 36% profit. I'm not sure if that's worth the risks or not, but hey, it's better than having lost money =)

Well I was doing quite alright sitting at a 3.8% ROI on my 10BTC investment that I started 10 days ago. Then the high roller started betting and I watched my profit fall from 0.38 to -0.03 so I divested. At that point the total investor profit was at 77BTC. Almost as soon as I divested the investor profit shot back up to 94BTC leaving me feeling like an idiot.

I'm not so sure its worth the risk but I'm also not sure where else to invest my spare coins besides cloud mining which is almost completely pointless due to the miniscule returns.
