i remember i invest in a gambling site that time when 1btc is around 50usd. the profit is only about 250btc, 1k reserved btc and someone just come in to wipe out the profit and hit on the reserved. i was online that time and i was horrified when i see he keep winning big and bigger. in the end, he won like 320btc.

BTC hasn't been around $50 since March 2013, which was 3 months before I launched the first gambling site that took public investments.

yup. i dont know about the first gambling site that took public investment, but btc was like around ~$20 at that time but when i heard about it and put money into it. it was around $100~ and den it shot up to $250~ before it crumble down to a period whereby it frequent from $50~$100.

it was that time when i lost faith in btc spectualtion and decided to invest some of my btc into something else. that time i learnt about ltc too and it was $2~ and den use the hundreds of ltc put into different company in Litecoin Global. but suddenly within 1 month after, Litecoin Global suddenly declare shutting down and all shares drop like mad. i managed to recover some back.

I forget the website but it does not have autobet and it is quite a simple website.

Just-Dice?

yah it looks exactly like that but i am not sure it is the same website or not. i have not been there for close to 2 years already cause i cant find back my account. I dont think there is much btc inside too. (hope not)
JD opened in Jun '13 w/ BTC, then closed in Jun '14 and reopened in Dec '14 with CLAM. Old accounts do still work. I think most BTC balances were withdrawn. It was the first site to offer "crowd-funded bankroll" also called "investing" (technically not really investors.) I think in theory SatoshiDice was the first to have investors, although that was with an IPO (shares) and different from the current concept of investing. I do think you mean JD according to your description, although you seem to be mistaken by the BTC prices :p

i think my memories serve me wrong den. that means i must have invested in JD after the fall of peak $250 and not before. Sorry for that. I remember that website track my ip (not too sure how it works) but whenever i go in, it is always the same account. But after afk for sometime, like half a year, when i go back, it is no longer logged in and i try to log in with my username but i cant remember my password n i dont know how i recover it. I should have withdraw all my btc by den. yah, it is the first crowd funding that i know. I also rmb SatoshiDice was the most popular gamble site at that time when i get into litecoinglobal market and shortly after, it was sold and all the share in litecoinglobal is bought back.

On a side track, i also feel i have withdraw everything from MGTOX but after they setup the system for us to check our balance(but cant withdraw) after the bankrupt, i realise i still have 0.5btc. well, there is a lot of ups and downs during the early days. lol.

Yeah, his description matches JD, and he said it looks the same, so I think that's what he was talking about. Not sure about old balances but I think they're lost now.

On the flip side, there is at least one investor (maybe multiple) that divests, plays and profits, then reinvests it all. Same happens with JD.

When he does this, it's bad for all the other investors. He's not part of the bankroll while he's winning, so the rest of the investors take a disproportionately large share of the losses.

On JD we've sometimes seen a chain reaction occur - some player wins big, so an investor feels like he has to divest-win-reinvest, which causes the other investors to lose more, making them in turn to the same thing. Eventually one of the investors suffers heavy losses, but until that happens it can look like being invested in a dice bankroll is a bad idea.

Completely agree. The one who did it on MP tanked the profit for a while. It's one of the downsides of liquid investments.

Last month.

Didn't it happen in August? Or was it another hit?
Edit: I checked the older posts in this thread and found https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12200414. The investor profit was reported to be -34.6 on Aug 21.

Sorry, I am datementally challenged. I meant August with that (wasn't thinking about last month being September).

I did the exact same thing in August when investor profit got a big hit and went negative, and I lost a few bitcoin. I am sorry to see your loss, but looking at the bright side, your loss is not as big as mine and you have a much better self-control than I had lol.

that sounds super super scary. how did u lose? is the hit bigger than the recent hit we had?Huh

It is not even comparable lol. I don't have the exact numbers, but IIRC, in August, the investor profit went from something like +50 to like -20 within a few days.

Try +72 to -28. A drop of around 100 BTC. My own investment went from being +29% to -22% in two days.

i thought i have seen the extreme. cant believe you even encountered worth. still can rmb when was that?
