Forgive me my ignorance but how the coins were returned? What exactly happened?

Vassilis_Dev are you saying that you are being threaten?

Good afternoon. This issue will be solved very soon. There are many other positive sujects about Mooncoin.
So, can we talk for them ?  Smiley
Many people believe in Moon, but have no clue what happened, and how it happened. It's normal that this activity attracts a lot of attention.
Depending on the outcome, and how happy people are with this outcome, you coin will or will not go to the moon.

Since it's this amount of coins I'd suggest talking to the Cryptsy Cryptocurrency Administrator and a lawyer.
It's not only about what people want, but also about what's legal or not.
Good luck to you! I bought a big chunk at 3 sat. We'll see were we land..hopefully on Mars.  Wink

Mooncoin at Bitcointalk
Hi Can anyone help with stuck Mooncoin on the  http://wallet.moonrush.org wallet. There is no way for me to access that site anymore. I had 1 million coins and now they are worth a decent amount to me and would really like to know if anything is possible at all to get them back. I contacted barrysty1e and had no reply as of yet. I appreciate if anyone can help me

the webwallet has not been operational since september, with a warning not to use it for at least a month earlier.
these virtual hosts were eventually scrapped/deleted.

james

Thank you for the reply. That means my coins are forever lost correct? If that's the case fair enough it's my mistake leaving them there

Please read the message below from another user who retrieved his coins in the same situation:

Hi guys

http://wallet.moonrush.org/brainwallet_moon.html >> link is no longer working?

can someone help me on this

ii) Once you've copied this; visit http://wallet.moonrush.org/brainwallet_moon.html and paste the brainwallet phrase into 'passphrase' - then click toggle key to reveal your private key. <<

I need my private key but the site is down

Hi guys I got my coins back. Please refer to below on how i did it:

1. If you like me, you stored your mooncoins on wallet.moonrush previously. You probably saved your url like this
http://wallet.moonrush.org/#XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (please dont share this passphrase to anyone)

2. To get access to your mooncoins, you will need to access to your private keys.
please copy your passphrase after the # XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

3. Go to https://walletgenerator.net, choose 'Mooncoin', 'Brain wallet', input your passphrase and you will receive its private key.

4. After that you can import your priv key to the Mooncoin wallet,
by going to Debug-Console and typing this command importprivkey XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXyourprivkey

Many thanks to Mooncoin_Foundation for helping me out. Thank you!

I hope this can help someone in the future. To the moon!

Have you tried that?

Let's wait what Vassilis (and especially his lawyers) says.
Maybe the suggestion of amdk is something for Vassilis to consider:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.27617587

theres no 'offline' for cryptocurrency, it will always remain on the chain - your ability to use it is determined by you owning the correct private key to the funds. better thought of as a lease, you never actually own it as a tangible asset; as thousands of other people running nodes would have the exact same information thats available to you.

if someone else had the private key, what could you do about it?
whether or not it is your 'perceived good', you only have the ability to use it through a client.

Normally stolen goods are illegal in consequence, if not returned to their rightful owners; so an expert opinion from a qualified lawyer would be a good thing indeed.

Coins are not goods, and they were returned to our community, so they are not stolen at the moment.
Of course, now when they are returned, only their rightful owners can decide what to do with them, otherwise, they really will be stolen.

But another thing is that coins in fact were blocked/frozen, so it's like they are out of supply and are 'unofficial coins' now.
Remember that investors were investing because they believed these coins were frozen, maybe the price of Mooncoin never went to these levels without that,
so to 'unfreeze' them means that the decision-makers of this could be held liable for the loss of these investors afterwards.

So these coins are not Mooncoins, they are 'unofficial, frozen Mooncoins' which should be burnt, just to stay out of supply forever.

The original freezing was already doubtful (that's most probably why Cryptopia removed Mooncoin from their exchange), but as said, now is a new situation, because the stolen coins are available again and are still - exactly as when they were frozen - stolen goods.

Ask your lawyer.

Cryptopia explained why they removed Mooncoin, you can find it at the end of previous ANN thread. It had nothing in common with frozen coins.
The community decided to freeze coins to prevent spending them after they were not delivered to the court and to their owners.
Coins were frozen. Now the protection was hacked, it's a technical question. These coins are not real coins. The protection should be improved by burning these coins.
But if anyone wants to receive his/her coins back, and can prove his/her ownership, there can be a solution for that.
If not, what are we talking about?
