Have been syncing the latest wallet from scratch for about 6+ hours, 3years 2weeks of blocks left. This is really slow, with all the nodes added, 8 active connections, 500GB SSD, 100MBps ISP. What is the cause of this slow sync ? Could you guys post a working bootstrap to github or official site ?

syncing for about a day now, 2years 32weeks left..is there something wrong at me or everyone syncs this slow ?

Hi all,

To recover stuck funds (electrum/coinomi and moonrush):

Moonrush:

i) Visit the moonrush wallet; and obtain your 'brainwallet' phrase which is either in the url (the part after #); or via export private keys at top righthand side.

ii) Once you've copied this; visit http://wallet.moonrush.org/brainwallet_moon.html and paste the brainwallet phrase into 'passphrase' - then click toggle key to reveal your private key.

iii) Open the Mooncoin-qt wallet; enter the 'debug console' via the help menu. Enter 'importprivkey ' where key is the private key.

The wallet will rescan all blocks and funds will appear.

HI,I HAVE TAKEN MY PRIVATE KEY FROM THE MOONRUSH AS PER THE PROCEDURE,DONE importprivkey key in the desktop qt client..not seeing any sign of funds coming..how do i know the rescaning is happening...

Electrum:

i) Simply open your electrum wallet, select the address funds were sent 'from', right click it and select private key. From here, follow Moonrush instructions part iii.

Coinomi wallet:

i) Install 'ES File Explorer'; your phone also needs to be 'rooted' - however this is a prerequisite for installing Coinomi MOON so non issue Smiley

ii) Navigate to /data/data/com.coinomi.moon/filles and you will see a file 'wallet':

iii) Click the file, open as text and choose 'ES Notepad' (or similar) to view it as plaintext:

iv) Write down the 15 word phrase.

v) Visit http://bazco.in/bip39.html and enter the phrase into the BIP39 recovery area.

vi) Make sure BIP 44 is selected where shown, and set the Coin field to 1 manually (even if it was 1 when loaded):

vii) Copy and paste the private key; follow Moonrush instructions part iii from here.

I hope this helps anyone with transaction issues,
I am busy continuing with 13.3 codebase and a new portable wallet; amongst other things.

Any experienced users; could you please help the newcomers where possible.

Hi Barry,

is that solution only for electrum/coinomi and moonrush?

I've never done any transaction with electrum/coinomi and moonrush, I only use your mooncoin-qt wallet so i see no context to electrum/coinomi and moonrush Huh

Thanks a lot.

Are you really going to change the algo? In my opinion it is not a good idea)
Which one did you choose?

Mooncoin was born with scrypt algo, and still alive because of scrypt algo.
If you want to switch the algo, do it a multi-algo coin. It's better to add something than replace or remove

scrypt has become inherently centralized with powerful players owning the majority of the hashpower.
the idea behind algo change is to make it easier for your average user to mine with CPU/GPU, which hasnt been a worthwhile option for some time now.

more to come once the new codebase has reached maturity.
Hi James,

Since difficulty retargeting algorithm will have to be changed as it is obviously flawed in current mining environment (huge pools jumping in and out), a hardfork is needed to update this if I understand correctly?
I agree with you when a hardfork will be needed anyhow that updating the PoW algorithm could be a nice extra. Any algo's you're currently considering?
Could you also update the repository so the community can review changes being made and perhaps contribute and assist in updating the codebase?
Thanks for your efforts.

to all,

i have stopped electrum/coinomi and moonrush, as although there are plenty of users successfully sending/receiving funds; there are quite a few who have run into issues with stuck transactions resulting from attempted spends of unconfirmed funds - and this is costing me quite some time to resolve each one individually.

please use mooncoin-qt for now; i am writing some routines to extract funds where stuck.

for those with stuck funds; i have all your details that have been PM'd to me.
there is something new in the works which will replace all three.

Mooncoin is the volume performer on Bleutrade, C-Cex and NovaExchange Cheesy
Maybe in the very near future we will see mooncoin being the 1# on Poloniex Smiley

Great enthusiasm here, Dev?
I'm happy for Mooncoin.
But, one thing I have to say, our coins lost to Cryptsy, were taken by someone but not by Vernon.
Can you tell me something Dev?

The first post of this talk (in page 1) was updated with the news about this coin... they explained what happened to those 2 top rich addresses.

Hi,
whoever owns/manages https://twitter.com/MooncoinItalia should update the logo of Mooncoin...
details are very important when you try to attract new people to the coin.

Anyway awesome work Mooners!!

Mooncoin at Bitcointalk
The dev is sleeping now, it's a deep night in Australia.

What are your suggestions?
You know that coins were stolen by Cryptsy or by whoever affiliated with them and were transferred to 2 top addresses,
and since 2015 and till March, 2017 were not returned to their owners or to the Court.
The Court received only 8 bil and already sold them for a price which was a joke, to unknown buyers,
we only knew that from their report when it was done already.

Do you suggest to unfreeze top 2 addresses with 80 bil coins and let thieves dump our own coins (btw mooncoin_foundation members left A LOT of coins at Cryptsy) on us, or what? Do you realize that it's impossible to get a control on these addresses, because you need to know their private keys to control them.

The only thing which was possible to prevent this unfairness was done by our dev, barrysty1e, he wrote his own method from scratch to make these coins unspendable since March, 2017 when the community approved the fork and a new consensus.
