Hi all,

Moonrush wallet currently up at http://bazco.in, or alternatively http://wallet.moonrush.org (when it decides to start resolving).
Please test first with small amounts to avoid any issues; however it behaved quite well during testing.

Working! Great and very beautiful 😬👍

Yeah received my one million no bother. I'll send the rest over now. Thanks again James Smiley

This coin is getting some attention in various Slacks.  I've heard about it at least two now.  I'd say momentum is definitely increasing.  Purchased some at 1 Sat and am now contemplating adding more.  Will be following this closely and watching it on the various exchanges.  Good work so far guys.

Anyone who has had issues with the Coinomi wallet; please PM me directly.

james

So, does this mean Mooncoin is listed on Coinomi? because I don't see it as a listed option. Would love to see if there was any other wallet.

Hi all,

The Moonrush web wallet is now complete, entirely web-based, quick and does not require a blockchain download to operate.

Am replicating my development environment onto a VPS; should be live later today.
URL will be posted once up and after some final testing.

That is great news, I'm one year and 50 weeks left to download so I'm just gonna hit up the web wallet. Keep up the good work! Smiley

In the future when you need to get an access to your coins,
you have to use a full client, go to 'Console' and input a command importprivkey ______________
where ____________ is your private key.
Better to encrypt your wallet with a strong password before importing a private key.

Some important info to know about importing private keys (related to Bitcoin, but as well to Mooncoin):

When you import a private key, you’re simply adding it to the collection of private keys in your software wallet. If any bitcoins belong to the private key, they’ll now be included in your software wallet’s balance. But those bitcoins remain assigned to the private key: for instance, if you are importing a paper wallet, its bitcoins now exist on both the paper wallet and the software wallet. If anyone else gets their hands on that paper wallet’s private key, or have already had access to its private key, they can still spend its bitcoins. Additionally, any bitcoins sent to the paper wallet in the future will be credited both to the paper wallet and the software wallet.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that if any of the private key’s bitcoins are spent using the software wallet (i.e. making an online purchase), then the private key will be completely depleted of its bitcoins. Even if only a portion of its bitcoins are spent. This is because Bitcoin transactions spend the entire balance of a private key, and send any leftover change to a newly generated private key in the software wallet.

You should only do an import if you generated the private key (or paper wallet) yourself and no one else has ever, or will ever, have access to it.

Hi guys, im kinda noob in the crypto world

I just created my first mooncoin paper wallet at walletgenerator

so how do I transfer funds from the wallet?

Can someone help me? Thanks

When you created a paper wallet,
you received
a) a public info (your Mooncoin address beginning from '2')
b) a secret info (its private key).

Now just send your coins to the address a)
when they come, you'll see them in a block explorer on a balance of your address.
First make sure that you printed both a) and b),
if you lose your private key b), you will not be able to get an access to your coins.

Never disclosure your private key to anyone, keep it in a safe place.

Coinomi is not officially supported, it's removed from OP and a website a while ago.
There will be another solution for Android.

If you have issues with that, first make sure you understand how it works.
Lightweight clients keep your private keys client side (servers don't know them), but if there are some issues with barrysty1e's server(s),
ddos attacks or anything, you might be not able to get an access to your coins for a while, until server issues are solved.
That's why it's recommended to use full clients or paper wallets.
Anyway, if you see your transaction in any of 5 Mooncoin block explorers, there is nothing to worry about.

Before posting that your coins are lost etc, make sure that
1) you use an up-to-date client
2) your wallet is fully synchronized
3) if you send coins to/from exchanges they wait for a lot of confirmations, so you will not receive your coins immediately
4) sometimes gaps between blocks occur (due to difficulty readjustment algo issues which are going to be fixed in a new release),
so your coins will come with some delay in this case
5) block explorers don't show the transactions immediately, they usually work with a delay (several minutes)
6) lightweight clients may not show your coins if there are server issues.

If you think there is an issue, better post also your TX id or PM it to barrysty1e.

Good morning from Greece. This web wallet is a very good job. Congratulation !  Smiley

I would prefer an algorithm which allows members to do mining with their computer or their wallet too.

As for PoS, I have not talked about another copy&pasted PoS, but have asked you (all) to help discuss this creatively.
We could, for example, use a PoS-system that gives a user of one wallet only one vote, regardless of how many coins are into it, they receive the number of coins according to their balance, but could not do a 51%-attack. This danger exists, by the way, any day with hashing, too, and more so as the hashing power is concentrated like today for scrypt-based coins. We could also use a CPU-only-mining-algo (maybe with a slider in the wallet-gui, that can adjust, how much of the CPU is used for mining, so that the computer keeps being usable for other things, if needed). But the most important thing is, that it has to be done quickly, as the problem with the blockchain exists for too long now and will not be solved with a bit more hashrate, as someone could hope. A stuck blockchain for more than 10 or 15 minutes for a coin that propagates 90 sec. block-time is simply unacceptable. Let alone 2-4 hours, like it is at the moment sometimes.

More ideas are more than welcome.

As for innovations: There are many coins that keep it simple and work very well. LTC is the best example. Simply works.
Or look at DigiByte. The key features (from their ann-thread):

- Security
- Speed
- Transaction-volume
- Total Supply
- Flexibility
- Marketability & Usability

Those are real benefits for users, even if that is nothing "innovative" in a cutting-edge-style. As you might remember - there was a similar roadmap for Mooncoin and MOON was even earlier on the market than DigiByte (first posting in their ann-thread: January 10th, 2014; MOON: December 28th, 2013 - see: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annmoon-mooncoin-you-know-where-its-headed-kgw-exploit-fixed-432014-389403 ). Now compare the market share of DigiByte to Mooncoin. I cannot see any real benefit from SmartLikes and MoonWord. For the known reasons, that I have already explained. We need to do the right things first, really. And if one wants to be first and foremost with the newest and most innovative features (and with this the most risky, because they are not proven) one needs a 100% reliable, competent, quick, comprehensive and capable dev, that can manage any problems fast, with the highest possible attention to detail and very good communication skills. Barry, are you here?

Agreed; the current difficulty retargeting algorithm is quite harsh and will be revised in a future release.
PoS is a potential solution to the issue; however I feel that it favours the existing crowd, not the newcomer who often will want to test the waters.

I'd hoped to see a fairer PoW algorithm, that does not favour ASICs or farms of high-end GPU; making it fair and possible for anyone who wants to support the MOON network entirely able to, with a chance of earning some for themselves.

Several algorithms have been suggested previously; such as Argon2 or Skein (my own favourites), however ultimately i'd like to hear what the community thinks..

Amazing work James!

I'll put it up on the blog and get word out.

I'm currently compiling information on smartlikes and moonword from older posts (Reading the ANN in it's entirety has been really interesting, I advise everyone to do so if they have the time.)

Once I've got my head FULLY around the processes involved and its possible uses, I'll write up a post targeted at the less tech savvy audience.

re: a name only or also innovations

DigiByte is another story, listed at Polo, a lot of big Asian investors behind,
and it's innovative.
