This is a great topic & something I've been thinking about. Over on the Crypto Australia Facebook group page (52000+ members) we just had a poll this week asking people which 5 crypto's members really believed had the most real world application - in other words what will survive the ice age and the big melt to reign into the future.
No.1 was Power Ledger aka POWR - the blockchain-based peer-to-peer energy trading platform enabling consumers and businesses to sell their surplus solar power to their neighbours without a middleman - They've signed contracts with 2 of the three biggest energy companies in Australia & the biggest one in New Zealand, the Govt Electricity supplier of Thailand & have partnerships with universities, Electric Car company Tech Mahindra (operating in 90 countries) and are now actively running trials in North America.
In other words they're the Airbnb of electricity.
No.2 was Decision Token aka HST (Horizon State). HST delivers a secure digital ballot box that cannot be hacked, wherein results can never be altered and voter identities are protected. Votes cast can be counted transparently, in real time, by anyone in the world. These counts can happen in perpetuity, as results are permanently retained on the blockchain and can never be changed. More than that - Horizon State allows voters to verify their own vote is accounted for, while maintaining their anonymity.
In other words cleaning up elections in the post fake news world.
No.3 was Bitcoin.
No.4 was Ethereum
No.5 was Cardana aka ADA.

No.10 was EOS
Interestingly enough Bitcoin Cash failed to make the top 30, and XRP, Litecoin & Tron all failed to make the top 10.

Because most alts are shitcoins. There is nothing surprising that their price are 10x under the ico price. Alsways make your own analysis before investing in different ico projects.
yeah the condition of market has become worse and worse it is falling too much no coin has its own value now a days there are some altcoins which has become zero and they are no more useful coins in crypto market.
and there is alot of project undervalued right now and a great opportunity if you invest in them good luck if you pick right project this is the bright side 
but I am sure if you hold the price of the altcoin will definitely increase even though it takes a long time.
Yes, some altcoins will really grow in value in the future. But 95% of them will depreciate, as the developers will not be able to realize the declared functions. After all, most projects to date do not have a working product, and some do not even have a prototype! All their promises are in white paper and that's all they have!

Right. I think the team that created the projects tried their best to put their coin on the market, and then they let the market take care of it.
It's very true and once people start realizing this I think we'll have a much better market and overall positive feeling about crypto.

Most of the people creating wallets in erc20 just to scammed other people. We should be vigilant of our funds online to protect coin we are holding. We should examine each coins before doing something to avoid scammer to enter in our private belongings.
What lies in failure of most of coins is their failure to do what they are established for. It seems that they are there only for money laundering or ways to attract investors and collect money. They need to do what they are established for. Only then people will start trust them and regulators will realize their importance and they will become stable.

I think the reason is a heavy competition of altcoins in cryptocurreny market in even today almost everyday the market introduces new coins to compete existing coins.
mostly it is just because they dont even release any product & just do some marketing to attract the investor. At least not at all altcoin are like this, I hope in the near future the things like this are not happen & just best altcoin that can survive. Off course I hope that someday altcoin or anything on this field are useful on daily usage.
You are right now that there are so many altcoins that have zero value when entering the market and make all investors lose their money ... but not all coins experience something like that ... about 6% of coins will give you lots of profit when entering the market even though all altcoins are experiencing price reduction
The market is saturated at the moment and I think that if the project amount keeps increasing at this pace it will only make the market drop even more, investors will need to be more selective than what they already are.
Every new undertaking are futile and inestimable since they have to amass finance at that point pay a trade for the others to have the capacity to offer and purchase their tokens available. Once in a while case that a venture will enroll their token to a trade before propelling their task since they have to set up a major measure of reserve.
I agree with you, most (99%) of the alts are worth zero dollars. This is because they have no working product (yet) and therefore represent no value at all. Their prices are purely based upon hype, speculation and the size of the community behind the coin. A lot of those coins will indeed go to a value of 0. Only the coins that will actually deliver their product and with that demand for their token will not die.
Although I do not think that there is any such mechanism through which we can give a fixe amount of altcoin which are fixed, but still if we study the market , its look like that most of the altcoin are already dead while some are very near to die soon. full member

it is true, man. Most of alts just have landing page , idea and team of chineese guys. it is enough to raise money in most cases. Even giants don't release products
One should be able to distinguish real campaigns and those who want to make money quickly, most of them are now the second type, and if you can not distinguish them, then you will lose money and desire to invest.
