Now it is official.
Lorenzo will retire after the Valencia GP.

The next question it will be...

Who will take his spot with Marc Marquez at Honda?
Does Honda will take is brother? It could be the best thing to do.

Alex Marques is the GP2 Champion and he will have a good mentor  Grin

Today can be a big day for the MOTOGP.
Jorge Lorenzo called a press call for Today.

He will probably announce his retirement from MOTOGP!

The press call will be at 15.00 CET.

One of the greatest riders of MotoGp and one of the funniest in my opinion. He used to place a flag called Lorenzo’s land in every track where he won and that was something very funny to do.It also means a lot in meaning besides being a lot of fun.I know though that Lorenzo since the death of Simoncelli is not the same,he was really shocked during that time so I can understand his retirement although I don’t like it.

Now that I read this that Lorenzo is going to retire I feel very old.
I still remember the day when he made his debut and watching this race on TV.
Time flies so fast and we are so lucky to see drivers like Jorge Lorenzo racing.

So, Lewis is World Champion officially for the 6th time in total and 3rd time in a row. Congrats for him, but it's getting boring, I hope to see someone giving him better competition, maybe not next year, but in 2021...
Bottas won the race in style and also because Lewis 1 pit strategy didn't worked and he had to change tyres again.
Alex Albon - another great performance, from P20 after start accident to P5, I think it's obvious who will be 2nd Red Bull driver next year.
And Kvyat - this lad got time penalty on last lap second race in a row. But I don't what exactly did happened, because it wasn't shown on TV...

@LTU_btc when the season started we all were wishing here that a new champion should be crowned, but it seems fate had different ideas and Hamilton is once again the champion. Now I’m sincerely hoping in the next season we see a new champion crowned, otherwise F1 will completely loose it’s charm.

Hamilton has now the chance to become the first F1 driver to become World Champion more than 7 times which is Schumacher. He needs to win to other Championships and this does not look difficult to achieve.Mercedes showed superiority in almost every aspect of the car during the Championship and I doubt this is about to change soon.

Also finally a good race from Verstappen. Now he had a good start and too bad for him there were the yellow flags in the end, otherwise you maybe good even try to attack Hamilton in the last rounds.

Boring race with almost no overtakes.

Disaster race for Ferrari, very bad start with problems for Vettel and no grip with the 1st set ot tires on LeCreck.

"hail to the king"

Hamilton can aim now the Schumacher record.

Verstappen was the fastest on practice 1, they are also trying the new tires 2020 on these 2 rounds so I don't know how much we need to look at times.

The tires are using now has the new compounds for the new season.

The 2021 F1 car is  revealed and it seems amazing!
Can't wait to see it racing on the tracks. It seems very aerodynamic and it is possible a lot of faster than the one that it races today.

New f1 car looks amazing on images and it's different a lot complaining with current cars. In these visualisations everything looks so nice, but we have to see how everything will work in reality. And it's still lot of time left to see it, 2019 season didn't even finished it and there is whole 2020 season before it.

Indeed but it is just the hype of the announcement.
The 2021 car seems to be more eco friendly combined with strong engine power and speed. The perfect combination in order to make the sport more competitive.

The concept car is nice, however, I reckon the Mercedes will continue its dominance with the V6 turbo. Engines should be rotated every 4 years with V6 turbo, V8, V10, V12.

They can't rotate the engines if they do its teams need to spend a lot of millions on research.

Mercedes is domination cause the got an advantage on start, do you know how F1 changed to Hybrid and who started to winning with the Hybrid?
Who did the test privately? Yes.

Anyway, we are getting more info about the 2021 revolution, the average time lost for a lap will be 3 sec according the simulations.
Cars will lost only 6% from the actual 50% of aerodynamic force when following another car on high-speed turns.

This is from gazzettadellosport and for now, is how a car will look like with the new tires too.

The changes I think that are good because the sport without them becomes boring and some teams dominate and make the sport boring like Ferrari in the Schumacher era. However these changes not always produce the same results, even with changes teams like Red Bull a few years ago and Mercedes now did know a bit before the rules were implemented and they took profit of it,Mercedes was working on the V6 engine before the other teams so they got an advantage,it is time for new rules to be applied at the same time to all the teams so we could have a real competition.

Anyway does anybody know where I can find the data for the fastest laps for each race on each track for the last 6 years or so?
Speaking about your question, probably easiest way to find it would be Wiki. You just need to open article about particular season and there you will that information.

An alternative would be https://www.racing-statistics.com/en/seasons. Has the data up to 1950 (not all fastest lap record available), looks great for me. Click the seasons and navigate to the race, there will be a fastest laps record.

Mercedes won probably with strategy over Lecrecr and strength over Vettel.
The faster player of the race was Verstappen, got the pole started as 4th.
Touched with Hamilton on 1st turn, went to box without 1 full tire in the last position and got 6th final position at only 68 secs.
Without the touch, he could win the GP without any issue IMHO.

I know is very easy to talk with IF.

That's true, he had a disastrous race this weekend.
He could be the winner but he made many mistakes with the biggest one in the qualification round where he neglected the yellow flag.
