Bottas is a good driver but Mercedes will never allow him to beat Hamilton, I’m sure they’ll ask him to make way for Hamilton in today’s race.

I really hate team order sometimes. It's as if one of the riders need to slow down and make a way to pass his friends so he can win the race. That's not a race at all.

I still believe Hamilton will win the race, has lots of experience behind him and he's really strong this season. It would be a surprise if he didn't win just because he didn't get the pole.
I'm sorry but Hamilton is not the favorite of this race.
For the bookmakers, the favorite is Max Verstappen with an odd of 1.95 for him and 3.4 for Lewis Hamilton.
1.95 is rather high so Verstappen is not a big favorite, but the odd for Lewis Hamilton is even higher.
So, there will be suspense this afternoon. Hamilton is in 3rd position on the starting grid while Verstappen is in pole position.

Maybe these the moment were Verstappen to shine in the podium, with team work and with better strategy, a better race and even getting championship, Hopefully we see some other drivers that would shine in the podium.

Im still betting tomorrow for a Hamilton top 1, he should take the lead eventually as experience shows up long term on the track. I think it's unlikely Verstappen gets lucky enough to do pole+win this weekend.

He got too much luck the past week with his victory he needs to compensate Cheesy.

I hope finally for a fight between Bottas and Hamilton, last week Bottas lost a huge opportunity for the comeback on the leaderboard.

What he is waiting for? He is so week this should be the last year to Mercedes (always if Hamilton will not leave at the end of the season).

He is too weak, he doesn't deserve the best car on the game IMHO, there are better pilots than him.

Verstappen showed great form to clinch the pole position, and Hamilton will really need to work hard on his strategy to beat him. While Verstappen is starting from pole, I feel he’ll loose it to Hamilton as he’s not experienced enough to beat him. I screwed up as I went for a Hamilton pole position this weekend. Max Verstappen is an up and coming talent but I didn't expect to make his first pole ever today, pretty legendary times, well deserved for the hard work he puts in but it's never good news when you lose the bread on the gamble.

The circuit this weekend is a very good circuit for RB. So I won't put my money on Hamilton this weekend. ;-)

Why you're so sceptical? Yes, this track isn't best for overtaking, but few last races here was really interesting. There are some worse and more boring race circuits in F1, like Sochi, France, Monaco...

I'm following the Formula 1 from over 15 years and I can't remember a fun race here, maybe there was one with the rain but I can't remember correctly.

" F1, Hungary: where it’s impossible to overtake."

This thread is for all racing series, not just F1 or MotoGP.
I saw few races of Formula E and it left me strange impression. They do races at very narrow street circuits and it means there are lot of crashes every race. And all cars are identical, so driver skills is most important here. But what I don't like is sound of these cars - they sounds like vacuum cleaners and this noise is a bit annoying. Damn, I miss sound of V12 engines in F1...
Pole position for Verstappen.

@DaveF. How much more boring is it than formula 1 hehehe?

I watched it before. It is good to see some of the former formula 1 drivers in there, however the cars do not look as nice and they are not that fast. But include it if you want.

I don't think they don't look as nice. They are just different.
No, not as fast but very quiet. Which helps, and *I* think it will help generate more interest. It's tough to convince a bunch of non motorsport people to have a race on their streets. It blocks traffic, and causes other issues. Not to mention the noise. You can hear them across the city. With the electric car & bike races you dog can be asleep in your front window as they drive by and it might not wake up. That helps the sport.
Yes it's a bit of an exaggeration but it does get the people nearby off your back when you want to do it.

I hope there is rain again this weekend in Hungaroring as it will make the race a lot more beautiful to watch. The Championship may become open again if Mercedes fail this time too.I think though that they will be driving with more caution this time if rain really hits the track.

Even if we have rain Mercedes are the best cars on the track and they would be again the favorites for winning the 1st and 2nd place in hungaroring!

the problem is the visibility become poor
Thats the main problem with rain racing that can make it a write off or an extreme combination of a track like monaco and heavy rain can make the race into a clown car pile up quite easily.   But I love the unexpected challenges they must overcome with an amount of rain the tires can cope with and still find grip and visibility, anything that shakes up the order and demands immediate skill to win is a welcome factor to the race.

Yeah, I know some people think electric racing is not real racing.
Its real racing and theres increasingly electric cars in use so theres going to be electric car racing but do they deserve a separate field and to call it F1 I'm not sure without being the best that's exactly correct.   If its 'too perfect' in its race then it wont succeed, thats the problem electric has of being monotone but I'm sure they can keep it open enough to be exciting.   I still imagine conventional F1 to be the best overall for its challenges.
