O Brother Where Art Thou

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0190590/

It's basically a modern--errr pre-modern take on Homer's Odyssey. Flew under the radar on a lot of people's watch lists just because it was never on the big screen. I make it a mission to introduce it to all my friends. Most of them like it. Everyone should give it a try if you're a fan of Clooney or Homer's works. Lots of ingenious ways they allude to the Odyssey here.

Today I watched

I, Frankenstein. <--- This is really good. It is even better than Underworld. There will be part 2, 3 and so on for this one.
Jack Ryan <--- This is also really good. I mean come on it is based on a character by Tom Clancy. I think there will be part 2, 3 and so on for this one.
Lone Surviver <-- Brilliant true story about the Navy Seal. Must watched if you want to see what the soldiers is up to in Afghanistan.

All the 3 films I give them all 5 out of 5. Never watch 3 films and come out still enjoyed all of them.

Yes I often watch 2 - 3 films per visit to the cinema. I have unlimited membership. So I can watch as many films as I like.  Grin

He's alright, definitely not going blow u away, but the overall movie is pretty entertaining.

Just saw Killer Joe and I had to approve it

There's a few hilarious scenes in Killer Joe. The chicken BJ scene and Nicole Kidman's jail orgasm had me in stitches.

How's Wahlberg in Lone Survivor? I'm waiting for that one performance from Wahlberg that will blow me away. Will it ever come?  Grin

Drag Me to Hell had a few funny moments.

Went to see Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit with the folks this weekend. I wasn't expecting much from the trailers but it ended up being a lot of fun! Not very deep or anything, but still very fun.

The Dyatlov Pass Incident
I think it's way underrated, it's not really scary but it keep you on your toes at all the time. Worth at least an 8 in my opinion.
I don't like movies where people have no common sense. Don't want to spoil the movie for others, but let's say you go on an expedition with friends and find something misterious like hidden bunker. Why the hell would you try to enter alone without telling the rest and with no proper equipment or communication devices.
Same with typical horror or thriller when someone chases you and wants to kill you, there's a struggle, and he falls, you don't run away screaming. You hit him until he passes out or at least take his weapon with you and run.

Horror movies aren't really based in reality. It's the same with haunted house movies. Would you really stay in a house if you're being terrorised by a demon and being thrown against walls and shit?

Can anyone recommend a good sc-fi -  not widely known but still good?
Moon
Serenity
Red Planet

I've seen Ender's Game few days ago - it was nice but felt like a summary. They wanted to insert as much from the book as possible and it seemed like a slideshow of memories.

Haven't seen the other two, but Moon was decent. Oblivion had a few similarities. Film was so-so though.

I need to see Moon, it has been on a mental note to watch for a while now, but when I come to watching films I seemingly forget that one.

Heard good things about it. 8.0 on IMDB so definitely one to watch Tongue

I watched Gravity yesterday and it's by far my favourite film of last year. Quite a slow burner though.

I saw Breaking and Entering is on tonight in the UK which was pretty good and quite an overlooked film. I'd watch it again but I'll be watching the superbowl. http://www.radiotimes.com/film/cd5s8/breaking-and-entering

Sunshine is worth a watch if you haven't already seen it.

Really? Thought it was pretty confusing and nonsensical. Had some cool effects though.

It was a bit strange, but it is rated 7.3 on IMDB which is definitely watchable lol.

Oh well if IMDB says it's a 7.3 then...  Grin

Haha it's usually a good indicator of watchability. Never let me down. The Internship had a mediocre score and the film itself was mediocre.

Yeah, but The Godfather is 9.2 on there, so...

Yeah, so that's when you exercise common sense if you don't want to watch a long, slow film lol.
