Well, I installed windows using GPT.
It still doesn't let me boot with Above 4G Decoding set to Enabled.
How come it's giving me a blank screen again?
Diskpart shows my drive is in fact in GPT.

you need to be able to boot in eufi

Pick out motherdboard battery for 20seconds or so, restart windows without any gpu, shutdown.
Setup bios as described before. Restart.
Then install all gpus again, and finally turn on rig.

Hi

in order to have the rig working with 4G enabled you need to have you HDD in GPT not MBR,
its easy ish to convert with a appropriate tool.

 Grin Grin

I'm running into problems after inserting the 5th GPU.
Error code12 appears

- Into BIOS
Settings>Advanced>PCI subsystem Setting
Above 4G Decoding set to Enabled (Makes windows not startup after booting)

PEG 0 and PEG 1 set to Gen1 (nothing changed)

Sad noooo help me!
I installed Windows 10 using iso burned to CD.

thanks talat .         u seem like from middle east ..     me too .. I,m for Egypt ..

but tell me ?   is there is a Celeron Skylake ?     or its I series only ?  i3 i5  i7 ?
will sky lake dual core work ?
Intel Pentium G4400 Skylake Dual-Core 3.3GHz LGA 1151   ??

can u tell me which processor u were using first ?  I don,t want to fall into the same problem

It doesn't work ..... í te with a G4400 Skylake and  when i  turn on the G4 option the system doesn't start

Ok i made it work. On Windows 10x64 .... it is a pain in the A** .... i modify bios to version 1d ,  Above 4G Decoding set to Enabled.... but most important Windows OS Configuration
Windows 8.1 / 10 = "Enabled"....

It was very hard to install correctly the driver but finally it works

Your primary PSU doesn't need to be very large as it only needs to power your motherboard and risers.

The secondary PSU would be running most of the power...a server PSU with breakouts would do fine.

any info where to get the server PSU with breakouts?

many thanks

You can find them on ebay or various places around the internet. I have bought from these guys several times now and they are reliable sellers.

The problem is that you're running 470's...

You can't get more than 4 470's working in a single mobo...you've got to use nvidia cards or 480's for the other gpu's.

Generally best to do 3-4 470's per build.

i have 5 RIG of Asrock H81 Pro BTC 2.0 and all GPUs on these Mobos are Sapphire Nitro rx 470 4 GB (6 x GPU per RIG)

What in the actual 'F' does that have to do with an MSI mobo like the OP stated?

Can anyone confirm that the Kaby Lake's will not run more than 4 cards on them?

I have been having fits getting 2 rigs to run more than 4 cards on them.  Here are the two builds.

Asrock H170A-x1  with Intel Pentium Skylake G4400 3.3GHz and 4 GB ram Win 10.

Asus Prime H270-Plus/CSM with Intel Celeron Kaby Lake G3930 2.9 GHz with 4 Gb Ram and Win 10

I had planned to run 5x RX 470 on the Asrock with 5 slots and build an Nvidia rig on the Asus platform.
right now I have 4x RX 470 on the Asrock and 3x GTX 1060 and 1x RX 470 on the Asus.

Thanks for the input

i tried with i3 6500 but gonna try with G4400 in few days. I ordered today
I will tell you if it works

awaiting your feed back ....   who knows I might give my feed back first ...  we already have the board but GPUz isn't, available yet .

I am waiting for the Intel Celeron G3900 Skylake in the mail. Should be able to get everything up and running to see how it goes.

Morning everyone,
I am highly interested in building my first rig around this mb with 7 rx 480. I was also planning on using the G3900 so please let me know how it goes. Quick question for you guys: would 1000W be enough?

1000w should be enough if you mess with voltage/efficiency...I'd suggest a secondary PSU or a 1300w one though

The 480's don't appear to have the same card limitation as the 470's do...but you might have to mess with voltage to get it perfect.

I'm making a mixed build on this mobo as well as using the g4400, I'll report back once it's functional.

Many thanks for your feedback. Actually for the same price I can get 2*650W with better efficiency so it would definitely make sense to go for 3 + mobo one one and the 4 left and the second one.
