Why am I the only one posting about this if it's true?!

Not so unusual. It affects not all. Most people are quiet. Therefore, please keep us up to date.
Most people != all of the people that makes a btc withdraw from mtgox on a given day.

So, what you tring to say? Only galgitron is affected? Gox suppresses his 82 BTC, intentionally? A bit paranoid for my taste. I am 100% sure that galgitron gets his coins from Gox, some day. It is clear that he is pissed because of this thing. I would be too.

So according to James a whole day of bitcoin transactions is missing? Why am I the only one posting about this if it's true?! Anyway it seems there is not much I can do other than keep waiting.

Also this was the one time I didn't pay transaction fee. (As I didn't need the BTC immediately, thought it might take 24 hours or something. No idea the transaction would end up lost for a week! Pay transaction fee people!)

Maybe it was a really big TX but didn't pay fees ...
https://blockchain.info/tx/a326763ea5294879aa16c32b345d2627705006fee16369851af411f9fecd2854

Wow... I called it... Horrifying that Mt.Gox is sending Fee-free TX and just hoping a charitable node will pick it up.  That is really cheap!  I suspect you would have been willing to throw in an extra 0.0001 BTC in order to get your other 81.9999 in and hour instead of a week.  Mt.Gox really deserves some he11 for that.

James Support 9:12:
You need not to worry about this and the transaction will processed successfully, please co operate with us.

galgitron 9:13:
James man, please believe me, I'm trying to cooperate the best I can, but you need to understand that MtGox is holding over $8000 of my money and nobody will tell me if or when they will eventually give it to me
...

galgitron 1:35:
Is there any way to escalate further? I can't pay my rent!

Dennis 1:36:
We have already escalated this issue. Will update you sooner

OK that transcript alone is enough to launch a MtGoxSux site.  Glad you got it worked out man.  Didn't realize that the TXID they give you is a Mt.GoxTXID not a bitcoinTXID.  Scary!

Sadly, despite all this drama, I think I'm still stuck with MtGox for the short term.  I'm completely offshore and have no interest in utilizing US financial conduits.
I'd start shopping BitStamp at this point.  I founding it pretty easy to get money in haven't tried getting it out Sad

This TX qualifies for free relaying. It does not need fees to be relayed by the Satoshi client.

I'll take the blame for not paying the transaction fees, it's a checkbox that I can select or not during payment.  This wasn't what caused my BTCs to get lost, it was an internal error from MtGox.  I've never paid fees for transactions because it doesn't make much difference in processing time, as evidenced by how quickly my 82 BTCs showed up once they re-attempted to send the transaction.  I imagine once the bitcoin network starts to saturate, this fee will become much more effective, but as it is right now, there's ample bandwidth for free transactions.

I looked at BitStamp and it definitely shows promise, thanks!

looks like you got your money... but next time pay the network fee, I have found that it seems to hit the blockchain and get processed a lot faster

I usually get a pretty quick transfer even without paying the fees, but I'm sure that will change as adoption matures.  Ultimately, no fees would've prevented this disaster...

Faraday, seriously keep on them in the help desk.  Be the squeaky wheel that they just want to get rid of.  Despite my painful experience, I'm fairly convinced that MtGox is motivated to maintain their reputation, and if you can prove their shenanigans (like I did with the blockchain evidence), they'll probably do what they can to correct it and avoid bad publicity.

I am still waiting for my 15 bitcoin withdraw from 31 July, I have had pretty much the exact same problem. Hopefully mine will be processed soon as well.

I definitely will not be using mtgox again after this, their customer support is a joke really.

Happy to see you get your money.

Hopefully this was just a technical error with Gox wallet and nothing more sinister.

Finally some useful information from MtGox...

Hello galgitron,

We sincerely apologize for the problems caused. Actually we had an issue with the synchronization of the hot wallets with our cold storage(a methodology to prevent the intruders to hack the BTC directly from the server) and the same had been resolved. However we are still having few transactions(hash) failing to enter the block chain. Already we are in the verge of re broadcasting all of the transactions that had an issue and hopefully this is resolved sooner.

A special thanks for confirming the capabilities of your wallet address and it was helpful while we escalated the issue to the development team.

Also be noted that the hash: "a326763ea5294879aa16c32b345d2627705006fee16369851af411f9fecd2854" still is in our MtGox transaction that needs to be broadcast and 100% be assured that your BTC's are not lost.

Once again sorry for the delay and thanks for the kind understanding.

We will speak to you once the coins are purged out.

Best regards,

Mt.Gox Team

If you need the cash so desperately, why are you buying BTC?
Sorry that Gox is messing you up. Hope it works out soon.

There's more to the story.  I had actually wired MtGox the money on July 9th and expected it to show up immediately, then I was going to convert it to bitcoins and buy some mining equipment and sell a portion of those bitcoins to all my friends and contacts who do not have a MtGox account.  I figured I would have cash again within a few days of the initial wire.  The crushing results were that MtGox didn't even credit my wired funds for over two weeks!, and then this tragedy where they won't acknowledge they didn't send me the bitcoins...  It's nearly a month since I started this whole thing.  I'm really scratching for cash now.

Thank you for your reply and for confirming the details. Looking at all the transaction on blockchain we can only see that address 15McP3sb1svztdC9WUYJjdaaVRRG9L2jaV was able to receive BTC only from some thing like "No Inputs (Newly Generated Coins)" and we do not see that the address 15McP3sb1svztdC9WUYJjdaaVRRG9L2jaV was able to receive any funds from any other BTC address and we have a second thought on why this was not processed.

Could please confirm if your BTC address is completely capable of receiving BTC if the BTC are send through other BTC address.

Wow that's so stupid.

Oops, did you remember to contact Satoshi and have him enable your address to receive Bitcoins? lol

And as for those trying to blame them OP "Why do you need your money", it's his money doesn't matter why he needs it.  82BTC wouldn't put me out on the street but I'd still be pissed off if someone had hi-jacked it.  82BTC I would think is significant enough for most people to get a bit irritated if it was missing.
