With cooperation with langer_hans on DogecoinJ library, mandatory update required for dogecoin 1.6 fork was created!
Version 0.2.3 released 17 March 2014 in addition to.
Be ready for dogecoin protocol 1.6 fork now! The update is mandatory! What also changed?
Automatic notifications mechanism about newest versions for future easier updates was added to the application.
Encrypt/Decrypt Wallet from Tools menu in addition to friendly encrypt/decrypt wallet button, which is there already.
Copy/paste from/to addresses fields via popup menus in addition to the short cut keys.
Other minor tweaks.
Get new version right on the home page. See screenshots of update below.

Is not UFasoft coin client which requires gigabytes of block chains downloads for synchronisation of each coin?
You could also have a look at the Ufasoft multi-currency client - it's open source and might be helpful for your project.

Multicoin wallet will be: Windows, Mac OS X and Linux OS desktop wallet.
The way that no third party will hold any private keys and only user which owns the coins is responsible and has the keys with full control of it.
