You should not tell a problem like this in the forum because something like this in a startup company is an internal problem, not a public problem.

Better to assign someone from your team to atleast study or learn the basics of marketing before even thinking of hiring some agency or some "ICO expert". It may take months but atleast you'll have a basic idea how it will work. Aside from marketing, what else do you not know? Are you already familiar with the legal aspect of running an ICO?

To those that are suggesting to hire a marketing agency/team.

Yes, they can do that easily as there are too many agencies out there that are willing to do the job. But the fact that OP doesn't really have an idea of what they are trying to do. That's really not enough to make the project good, its about the quality. They know how to code so I think they should get an experience first with an ICO and be hired as their coder.

What is the ICO for? do you have a project to offer too?
ICO is not just about the token creation, investors will come if you have a great team and a project to compete for the world technology.

If you want to run an ICO start first to study the basic knowledge like of course you will need to create a new coins/tokens or etc. here then some strategy in the past by many investors are like they promote this by faucets,airdrops then spread their project here in forum and that's really depends on your new coins/tokens or etc. like if this very useful and helpful by the users of it so your ICO or project will turn popular

ICO is not just talking about coding, my friend. If you only have expertise in coding but you don't have a concept that is applicable and useful for people, I think that will be useless. Hold an ICO is not an easy thing, you have to think about the project that you are making for the future too (not just for now) because now many people have tried to do ICO without thinking and ended up failing or leading to fraud.
You need to know that a good ICO is if you have all the elements needed. One of them is you can conceptualize how the project you want to create, including the advantages and benefits to be used by everyone (you can recap and compile all of this in the whitepaper you will make). And of course there must be influential people to support your project, also have a team that contains people who already have experience in their respective fields, especially in the field of blockchain is also very necessary. And don't let your team be anonymous, because now many investors prioritize the transparency of a project including everyone involved in it. I hope you can think about it again before you want to act.

As for marketing you should hire marketing professionals and launch bounty as well.
If you have limited budget, then spend it on etherscan advertisement and remeber that reral investors can be found on a roadshow and crypto events

The best marketing strategy is to open up a bounty programme. Be careful with your bounty pool and do not put too much money in bounty, because a huge pool could cause the coin dump after the first listing. I would also suggest to speak with Youtube and Instagram bloggers, to create a better marketing campaign.

Personally i feel you are not yet ready for the ICO. You just told us you have an idea in coding. Then my question is coding for what? If you already have a good and unique idea, i believe it will sell, even if your marketing is not a very good one. You do not need to spend too much on marketing. Just employ the services of bounty and airdrop participants, build you community and ensure you have a team of professionals.

Try to find some credible ICO incubator that helps startups and they can help you make your guide and model your ICO accordingly. It's very hard nowadays to run an ICO because now many don't believe in investing in them because so many have turned to scam and run off with our money. You need to build a lot of credibilities before people are going to trust you with their money. I wouldn't now touch an ICO without an escrow or knowing who all the Team is and how credible they are, because the days of anonymous devs ripping us off is over now.
