I think so too, this year's ETH can definitely compete with bitcoin. Many ICOs use ETH blockchain so that the price of ETH can increase dramatically.
In my opinion , ETH is now more hot than BTC because the explosion of ICOs base on ETH Blockchain. During the recent dip, ETH price even a little come up, all altcoins and BTC holders lose funds but ETH holders still have profit. So i think that ETH will reach BTC price this year. What do you think guys?
In spite of the fact that to some extent the ethereum does behave in the price plan in spite of the price movement of bitcoin, in general it nevertheless follows its price. Therefore, it is unlikely in the near future this coin will be able to outstrip bitcoin in its value. However, there are still such possibilities in ethereum, and their implementation will largely depend on the further behavior of bitcoin. If bitcoin continues to lose its popularity and dominance in the market, then it is possible that ethereum can become the leader of the crypto currency. I agree that ETH is extremely HOT right now.
In terms of technology and scalability, the future certainly seems much brighter with Ethereum. As compared to Bitcoin, ETH's new features are more numerous and the scalability roadmap seems more concrete. I love how ETH devs are transparently active on Github.
I definitely believe in Ethereum. It is becoming more and more popular because there is a growing number of ICOs that are based on Ethereum platform. Its technology of smart contract is very promising. I think that Ethereum is a currency of the future.
A few months back, it looked like some of the ICOs were shifting to other platforms, such as Waves, Stellar and Qtum, but now once again we are witnessing a surge in the proportion of tokens getting created in the ETH platform. My only concern is the huge failure rate for the recent ICOs.

I'm holding ETH, I believe ETH, but ETH will not reach BTC price. BTC is the king of all the Cryptocurrency, so ETH will not able to surpass Bitcoin. ETH price can increase but not so much like the BTC.
all that could happen but we also have to remember if all foundation cryptocurrency is on bitcoin so it will not be easy to shift the bitcoin in the top position so I think Etherium can beat bitcoin maybe in some future time
This just does not happen, this is incredible growth, cause which is impossible in the short term.
Difficult question. I believe that both coins are good. I find it difficult to single out one. They have different tasks and different approaches.

The popularity has definitely increased but in addition it has done remarkably well considering that bitcoin s downtrend has brought down everything else except Ethereum.
Ethereum is now the most interesting altcoin. When Bitcoin will surely not change, Ethereum can grow very easy.
Well in my own opinion both eth and btc are good, if you are holding eth, hold it a time will come when the price will jump high and if you are hold btc a time will come too when the price will jump high, crypto is about having patience for your profit.
Ethereum is really do well and one of the highest value in the industry. I believe in ethereum, i believe that one day ethereum will give a break, like this is the time of ethereum we need to support this and we will make a better profit in it. There's no lose in ethereum nor bitcoin but if you really understand the market you will. Ethereum do really have a better future.
Ethereum is heading for its strong support. This area has pushed up prices recently. The latest candlestick of it is also a sharp drop candle and accompanied by high volume helps to confirm the force. This is not a short term buy.

Ethereum has a chance to become the price of a coin, but at the moment it seems unreal and bitcoin is out of reach.
At present, everything is in a difficult period, although ETH has increased a bit in this storm, but in my opinion this year, ETH price hard to reach the threshold of the price of BTC. To me, BTC is always the best currency even if it is in a big storm.

As a matter of fact, Eth has the biggest contribution among their co-altcoins success. So I am not really surprised if the Eth in the future will surpass the BTC price as they were working on it efficient and less expenses transaction where majority of ICOs are preferred to be in the Eth platform based. And I think Eth not just go to the moon but in the sun where it will be on the hottest part of cryptocurrency. 
ETH is hotter now, Durability and price is also very good. So many people have other alternatives to buying ETH than they hold it entirely on bitcoin, and many are also beginning to divert on other coins.
