I can confirm Rassah, Jan and apetersson are working for mycelium and control their forum accounts.

We had a problem with our dns, and the provider temporarily terminated all mycelium.com hostnames. Mycelium users had no connectivity. We published an update v1.2.20 for non-beta users and v1.3.0 for beta users that added dns-less hosts as fallback, which should restore normal connectivity.

This change was also pushed to github.

The normal domain-based access should also resume in a few hours once we resolve the problem with the provider.
Thanks for the info, I was already wondering what the heck was up with Mycelium not working.

Just to be sure, would you by any chance have any proof you are an actual Mycelium representative, and not someone who hacked his account through some DNS spoof or whatever?
I can confirm that Andreas is a Mycelium representative. (now it would take two hacked accounts)

I triple confirm (unless my account was hacked too).

Couple of questions

Is it going to be a bunch of words, like electrum

Can we use our own seed
When creating the master seed you will have several options:
1. shiny new random 256 bit seed
2. import BIP39 wordlist (Trezor compatible)
3. scan a previously created encrypted PDF backup (backups will contain both classic private keys and the master seed)

Option 2 allows you to use your own wordlist/seed

BTW: are we going to be able to choose a size?

Yes, you gonna get a mail asking for your desired size!

Speaking of the t-shirts, we'd like some feedback from you.

Congrats!

I personally would prefer just a logo T-Shirt.

Hi team, Congrats!!!!

Glad everything went great I cannot wait for the updates!!!

One question, When you say HD wallet, are you saying your going to have Offline wallet signing transaction? Maybe Mycelium can have something similar to Bither where on the start of the app Install you can choose Offline Version or Online version. This way people can have the offline wallet on the cold storage phone especially for signing transactions and that's it.

And then people can have the normal version of Mycelium on the Online phone.

PERFECT!!

Any thoughts on this? I really love Mycelium and the offline signing would seal the security deal and put other wallets to shame. (Literally)

Our Indiegogo campaign is over, and here are the stats (combined IndieGogo and Bitcoin contributions)

Total amount raised: $32,156

Total # of units ordered: 700

Total # of t-shirts ordered: 220

Thank you VERY much for your help! Most of the orders came from big obvious places, like USA, UK, Europe, Canada, and Australia, but we've even had orders from as far as Chile, Korea, Turkey, and UAE. Bitcoin is truly global Smiley This amount should help us cover most of the costs of ordering  the first mass production run of these devices, which we should be placing some time this week (we'll have a final meeting to finalize things either tomorrow or Wednesday). We plan to order a few thousand units (with funds raised from you, and our own funds), since we already had a few requests from merchants to carry these as well, so there shouldn't be any issues with ordering these as soon as we finish shipping the initial Indiegogo ones. The remaining steps, which will be done at the same time the devices are being made, are:

  • Add Litecoin support as an easily configurable setting on the device (Thanks for helping us reach the stretch goal Litecoiners!).
  • Finalize software support for creating HD wallet seeds (hopefully just in time for the release of HD wallets in our Android wallet).
  • Design packaging materials, such as boxes, inserts with instructions/warnings, etc. We will probably keep these somewhat plain though (we're going for security at lowest price, not flashiness).
  • Set up distribution accounts with Amazon in USA, Europe, and Asia, since we'll be using them to fulfill most of the orders.
  • Design the t-shirts.
  • And, of course, publish the finalized source code and hardware schematics for these devices. In case some software security issues are found, we should have plenty of time to get them fixed before we ship.

Speaking of the t-shirts, we'd like some feedback from you. Do you guys want t-shirts that mention Mycelium Entropy, ones that just mention Mycelium, or ones that just have our logo, but don't specifically advertise the company, with just text that, for example, says "Ad-hoc Economy" on them, so that if you are asked about it you can talk about either Mycelium, or just bitcoin?

Even though Indiegogo contributions are over, we'll leave the BitPay links up for anyone who still wants to order one, and, of course, for anyone who still wants a t-shirt.

Thanks for adding Litecoin to the Mycelium Entropy device  Smiley  It would be great if you could add LTC to the Mycelium Wallet too .

In the first version, it will just be able to generate a new random seed or to import one from a previous backup.
But we definitely want to add the ability to import BIP 39 wordlist seeds later on Smiley

I'm new to the Mycelium Wallet.  It is a thing of beauty! Thank you.

I've read all 41 pages of posts in this thread, and did not see the description of something that is confusing me.

Background:
I have my wallet in expert mode, with two addresses that Mycellium created.  I made a backup, and the PDF has the encrypted private keys.  I recorded the password that was presented to me.  Let's call this Backup #1.

After playing around with the wallet for a week, I made a second backup of the same two keys.  I also recorded the new password.  Let's call this Backup #2.

Questions:
The two encrypted private keys look different between the two backups.  However the addresses on both backups are the same.  Is it safe to assume that the un-encrypted private keys are the same as well?

Now that I've made Backup #2, is Backup #1 still valid?  I am assuming that both Backups are valid, but I have to use the appropriate password with the two different sets of encrypted private keys.  If this is is true, I'd like to just get rid of my Backup #2 and stick with my original backup.  Can you please confirm that this will not be a problem?

Thanks!
Every backup uses a new random password, and therefore the encrypted private key looks different.
Since your backup#1 and #2 are for the same 2 keys they both allow you to restore your 2 private keys.

Once HD is released you will only have to make a backup once, which will contain your master seed.

Slap this down if it's stupid but it just occurred to me that the previous comments about the clipboard might be an opportunity for Mycelium to introduce a second "secure" clipboard and make it a library that others could include in their apps. Not sure if this would need some kind of low-level OS access but not sure why it would. It may not catch on but it possibly could.

I see, but what if the cldwallet i am spending from showing as primary wallet in read only mode? When I click coldstorage and spend a little from it Is it going to delete the read/only public key or only the private key part?

If you had the same address as read-only before, it will stay there and not get deleted.
Cold spending will only delete what it scanned to spend, and not touch the private keys or watch only addresses you had before.

Thats Beautiful... I didnt knw that thank you sir!

You dont need to import and manually delete the private key again, you can use the cold spending option to have the private key automatically deleted as soon as the transaction is broadcast. Smiley

hey guys,

Here is a feature that would seal the deal with this wallet even render hardware wallets useless (possibly)

There is an open project Called Bither its on android and Ios now and has Cold (offline) and Hot wallet version

Can sign offline transactions etc

Please have a look at it and if we can implement a few features like the offline signing it would be great, i am waiting for a cheap android to be delivered which i will put mycelium on it as a read only version of my coldwallet and keep it offline 99.9% of the time.... when i send funds out of it I will scan the private key and then select the amount i want to send and turn on the wifi for a few seconds to broadcast the transaction and take it offline again and delete the private key, making it read only. Then switch off.

How awesome would it be if you had something similar to bither where "If installed on a phone and "cold wallet is selected" it is made for offline mode, it warns you and makes you turn off Wifi, Mobile Data & Bluetooth (Basically airplane mode) then  you can do your business on there like sign transactions etc.

Check Bither out and let us know what you think, I do imagine you are already in the progress of doing something similar, here is something open source which may give you some idea or trigger the old lightbulb Smiley
