Hello everyone!

Just a quick update, for those who did not already know, my father and i are writing an article for a dutch magazine about Guldencoin and digital currency in general. I will post more updates later on.

Love it. I just tipped some media about Café Bommel with a press release of mine. Hope that is incentive for these journalists to get some interview going like we had for Subway Leeuwarden and Cafetaria De Prins in Amsterdam Smiley.

IP banning is not the solution, clevermining could easily setup a proxy, have a different IP and continue doing what it does. What surprises me is that this coin isn't too expensive for them to mine yet. Profitability must have dropped for them. And, are there other switching pools? If there are, they are most likely keeping them out.

If clever decided to go through the hassle of setting up a proxy for a single altcoin, I would seriously take that as a blatant attack on the coin.  It wouldn't look good for clever if they did this, and Terk would probably lose a lot of respect from the crypto community.

IP banning clever would give us some additional time to plan out a permanent solution for the longevity of the coin.  It would also relieve some of the burden on members like Biomike, who could then spend BTC on NLG rather than hashing power if they wanted.

I'm just tired of seeing clever rape this coin for their own greed.

Depending on how well our first 2 projects are received by the crypto world we might need drones that use multipools to keep putting sell orders for new users. Project 3 if it works out makes us more useful then... ooops did I say too much. Smiley Project 3 is a + 6 month project so don't get too excited yet!

Project 1 will be released by the end of this month.

Let's just hope that Terk doesn't decide to unleash his 80GHs through a workaround to fuck us up if we do decide to block their IP's from the network.

Do they really have that much hashing power?

Looked up on their site... 222GH/s is what they are doing.

First, Investeerder... enough already.  You're sounding like a broken record.  Go FUD elsewhere.  In fact I would seriously consider paying you to go FUD elsewhere.

Second, thanks for the support, Biomike.  Not only for the Criptoe pool, but for the overall network hashrate you have provided for network.  If we didn't have members of the community like yourself stepping up and making these choices, Clever would continue to rape this coin.

Which brings me to my last point.  Why are we seriously still allowing clever to mine NLG?  We have community members spending money to negate their influence on the coin.  When someone has cancer, you don't say, "oh, well lets change your diet and see if that helps".  No... you go after it aggressively.  You nuke the cancer out of existence, and then you change your habits.  IP block clevermining.  It's not centralizing anything.  Quite opposite of that.  Clever controls too much of the network without community buy-in.  They centralize this coin.  It's a cancer that has plagued us for too long, and I honestly don't see why we can't mitigate their effects right now.  IP block clever, let the price be what it would without 50% daily sellout, and let's finally move on.

-Fuse

On the bolded parts I agree 100%.

Regarding the algorithm change because the community is being put under strain with long block times, if /GeertJohan says he will take another 3-6 months then I will buy some hashing power and support the network but if hes going to be another 2 weeks then we can leave things as is.

Fair points in my opinion. We've discussed the possibility of blocking their IP's before, there were some concerns at the time because it can be worked around quite easily by Clevermining. But I can understand if the community feels it should be done. Let's just hope that Terk doesn't decide to unleash his 80GHs through a workaround to fuck us up if we do decide to block their IP's from the network.

Next resistance will be around 1800-1900 sat (I have a lot of large orders around that point as a result of pushing clevermining below 50%).

When Sushichef is back in town we will reach that in a whimp, I guess. He brought in Wijnpakhuis.nl isn't it?

.. sold some to invest else were so I can go ×5 - ×10 and bring in more

Still am a millionaire haha

Let him come. I need the BTC to sustain the hash rate to keep clevermining down.

Is this something you are doing until the algorithm change takes place?

I try to keep doing this as long as my funds and personal situation allow it, but it is hard to keep the hash rate up (2 days ago clevermining managed to get >50% again) and finding time to do this is more challenging that the funds I have to do this.

A lot of us are doing it, but BioMike buys a lot of hashpower for us, at least as far as I know correct me if I am wrong Wink, maybe more do it on a larger scale. I heard something about LTEX and the 1680's doing the same. Smiley Check and read http://www.projectgulden.nl/237/hoe-mine-je-guldencoin/

You guys should really push the team for a time frame on this project so you know what your in for.

I'm fine with a "it's done when it's done", something the team has been pursuing from the start. I'd rather have them sorted it out right, before making a huge change again. I'm not a fan of huge changes every 2 months (that would make me loose trust in this coin). But I might PM GeertJohan when this is taking too long; for now I'm good. My only hope is that the community keeps doing, what it should do (getting more shops accepting NLG and building tools) and not panic too much over this hurdle.

That being said, to continue on what Buerra said. I also know that CIG helped also with adding hash power to the network, but he seems to have stopped that some days ago. I know that he planned to work on something that could pull in a lot of hashrate to guldencoin, but haven't heard from him about that anymore. People can track my contribution by the address "GMxAVLQDLmsc4Q2aNxifyZqW6JRenK67hj" on both guldenpool and criptoe (I provide the majority of the hash rate (99%) there and both pools currently take about 50% together).
