Again strange volumes and prices on swissex.
Don't know what problems they are facing but it sure does not look good. Also support does not respond so its risky bussiness over there...
I took all coins from Swisscex days ago.

Today, the only coin which I believe in is NLG. Most of the other altcoins are just based on air or technical aspects which will never be used.
If, NLG survives the next 6 month, it could be huge ( even sooner maybe)
I mean, if you think about it, NLG could be the second cryptocurrency to have a REAL USE  in real life.
There are a lot of manipulations and lies on the altcoin markets, if NLG wants to go big, it will have  to protect itself. As a lot of people behind cryptocurrency are not good persons, they are real thieves and are used to be the winners and do not like to share their profit.

Best wishes to all the NLG team. You are doing an amazing job.

Wish you all to have success and luck.  Wink

Point your wallet to setgenerate true 1 and help out Wink And/ or if you have a scrypt miner to spare for the network Smiley

@THSminer I have no illusions on some magical mining hashrate we can setup over night. I am willing to buy as much hashrate as I can, I don't care about profits the way others do, I do care about a sustainable and reliable coin, building the future costs money. Yes, your tip about KGW, Digishield etc. is a good point. I am looking into adding to the hashrate in any way possible. Dev team will surely look into it all.

Merge mining doesn't sound to good of an idea. I meant that we as NLG followers, traders and miners get more hashrate towards the NLG network. Anyway we can to avoid some sort of GH/s slaughterhouse.

Hmm, 200, 1500 sat. I don't want to spoil the party but NLG has to take a couple of huge hurdles before it even survives the next six months. It survived massive dumping but right at the doorstep is a new phenomena called high hashrate scryptminer. Nothing new? Just take a look at what happened to Ruby the past days. It has become a piece of cake to trow 1 Ghs scrypt at any coin and thus destabilise the entire security. Do double spending or fork a coin in so many pieces the devs can't find the pieces. Imho guldencoin needs to take some steps to protect its security otherwise its the next victim the moment it's gettting enough attention.

I agree, if the crypto cartels see this as a threat it could pose a problem as more newcomers won't get suckered into investing in new coins with no future., same happened with Noblecoin which is why they switching to full POS soon.

Merge mining might be a answer?

I see like Noble , Ruby switching to full POS... man these guys are ruthless that try destroy the few honest coins.

In response to this attack, Rubycoin is becoming purely proof-of-stake.

Mine it while you still can. You only have a few days left, a week max.

Merge mining has it's own risks, what if you merge mining with a coin that turns out to be scam or devs leave a coin to die, it will then have NLG associated it with.

I think the best way is to let the things happen naturally, don't make a huge fuss about the coin here on btctalk and attract too much attention. Let the community grow via word of mouth and new miners start slowly coming on stream.

Most of all to the NLG team make sure you have a backup plan in case scrypt blockchain cannot be protected.

Sure, but what would you propose? There's not much you can do about a 51% attack other then try to spread the hashes as much as possible. Let all users mine from their wallets to contribute to the hashrate and network spread. Add more large miners ourselves as a community. 1-2-5MH/s at a time. In the third and fourth quarter of this year 250, 500 and 750 MH/s miners are available. How do you get 1GH/s scrypt to work 'to be a piece of cake'? Because if it's a piece of cake, then let's do it as a community to use it as an improvement rather than wait till someone else f#@$ it all up.
Sorry to disturb your reality, but adding hashrate as a community is a farce. How much hashrate do you think people a going to throw in when it's not profitable. Let me tell you these so called communities are very brittle. There are a couple of committed people and a lot of folowers. The latter follow the profit.
Anyone can deliver you 1 Ghs at this very moment for about .8 BTC a day thats no magic. To be honest there is only 1 coin thats safe and thats BTC due to the massive hashrate. Any altcoin at this moment has to revise it's way of operation. The moment Satoshi designed the protocol he could not foresee some things that would happen, that evolutionairy process is where we are right now. The original protocol does not work anymore. POS seemed to be the answer but also has it's limitations and at further investigation not the protection that was predicted in the first place. The fastest way to get some sort of protection is modify the KGW, DGW or Digishield with the threads that are foreseable in the near future and keep a close eye on whats going on in your shop.
