I agree, if the crypto cartels see this as a threat it could pose a problem as more newcomers won't get suckered into investing in new coins with no future., same happened with Noblecoin which is why they switching to full POS soon.

Sure, but what would you propose? There's not much you can do about a 51% attack other then try to spread the hashes as much as possible. Let all users mine from their wallets to contribute to the hashrate and network spread. Add more large miners ourselves as a community. 1-2-5MH/s at a time. In the third and fourth quarter of this year 250, 500 and 750 MH/s miners are available. How do you get 1GH/s scrypt to work 'to be a piece of cake'? Because if it's a piece of cake, then let's do it as a community to use it as an improvement rather than wait till someone else f#@$ it all up.

Besides that the devs monitor the network so they can react to these type of problems right away. Nevertheless I agree with THSminer to a degree, it needs to be dealt with. But it's not an easy fix.

Hmm, 200, 1500 sat. I don't want to spoil the party but NLG has to take a couple of huge hurdles before it even survives the next six months. It survived massive dumping but right at the doorstep is a new phenomena called high hashrate scryptminer. Nothing new? Just take a look at what happened to Ruby the past days. It has become a piece of cake to trow 1 Ghs scrypt at any coin and thus destabilise the entire security. Do double spending or fork a coin in so many pieces the devs can't find the pieces. Imho guldencoin needs to take some steps to protect its security otherwise its the next victim the moment it's gettting enough attention.

I think we'll hit the 1500 sat mark at a stable rate easily by the end of the year.

The best part really is NLG is better then 90% of the coins in the top 100 and it's currently sitting in top 150. This is the coin Warren Buffet would go for imo for the best returns.

I am willing to bet a steady price of 200 by the end of the year along with a increase in bitcoin price.

Vericoin on Mintpal got hacked, about 30% of the coins residing on there. Was about 2 weeks ago.

VRC? Is that Vircurex? That was a long time ago or did it happen again?

I think he meant the hack on VRC where 30% of those coins were stolen.

Can you tell how you were hacked? Could be a lesson for some more people over here. Did you use double authentication or just simple login?

I had more time to go over the website this morning and man so much content and layout is perfect.

website is looking great and great  by those who had keep it up and running.

Updating should be something like this:

1. typ %appdata% in you windows search bar -> you'll enter the roaming directory.
2. search for the wallet.dat -> copy it somewhere else (desktop directory or usb) -> make sure you can find it back!
3. delete everything in the roaming directory belonging to guldencoin.
4. delete all your guldencoin files in your download directory.
5. download the new version from guldencoin.com
6. insert the wallet.dat into the roaming directory and start the guldencoin116.exe
7. everything should be fine.

Restore should be kind of the same principle I guess. Assuming you want to restore a wallet.dat you should do it on a computer without guldencoin116.exe installed, otherwise you would replace an existing wallet..

Agree.  The website is great.  Cheers to the designers/devs.  One thing I noticed.  In the 'Getting started' section on the front page, there is a section on Backup but not Restore.  Is this because the Restore instructions aren't as simple/elegant?  I  personally haven't upgraded my windows NLG wallet software to 1.6 just because it sounded complicated.    On the other hand upgrading the android NLG wallet from the play store along with backing up and restoring my keys was very straight forward.

I (like a few others on here) have limited my cryptocurrency exposure to BTC and NLG.  Viewing BTC as the world-wide cryptocurrency standard and store of wealth, and NLG as the spending currency in the Netherlands (and perhaps catching on in a few bordering nations?).   If NLG can catch on outside Europe that would just be a bonus for me.
