UpdateAs most of you have noticed we have a certain way of communicating. We usually don’t say much until projects are finished and can be launched. This is part of our vision, because we don’t want to disappoint. In the crypto world people are disappointed every day and it’s causing a bad name and reputation to cryptocurrency, while it can and should be as beautiful as the internet itself.
But while we believe in this vision, it should not stall our development and in this case it is.
I am talking about the iOS wallet.
For the last couple of weeks we have been investigating many ways to get it done but without good result. Of course we have learned and made important connections but iOS is still further away then we would like. There was good news from Apple’s side, that makes it possible to get an iOS wallet in the App Store and now it’s time to act.
We all know open source is beautiful and so is this Bitcoin wallet:
https://github.com/voisine/breadwallet. Breadwallet is a product from Aaron Voisine and it is amazing. I have contacted Aaron about the possibilities to convert this to NLG, but unfortunately he is too busy at the moment developing Breadwallet, which is understandable. But he referred us to some friends of his who are very good iOS developers in San Francisco, who would be able to convert it. But not for free.
So it can be done, but we need funds. And unfortunately they don’t take NLG…
We also talked with some iOS developers based in Amsterdam and it all comes down to the same thing, funds.
So here are a few options:
1. Crowdfunding
2. Developers who can be paid in NLG
3. Wait for an open source Litecoin wallet
Please let us know what you think or if you have any ideas. This is something we have to do together.
Because we prefer the second option we want to offer a bounty for the development of the iOS wallet for 2.000.000 NLG. Yes that’s a lot. But we believe its very important for the success of Guldencoin, here is why.
Cryptocurrency is still very new to the majority and part of that majority are merchants. While we have noticed merchants are hesitant towards Bitcoin, but less hesitant towards Guldencoin. Because it’s familiar, they can talk to us when they need to, get information and guidance. It’s Dutch. But what they want is a complete solution. Everyone wants a complete solution. They want all their customers to be able to pay with NLG. Can you imagine having a good conversation with a merchant telling him how easy it is, then reaching the conclusion that the merchant uses an iPhone… Thats why its so important to offer a complete solution.
More about the complete solution. iOS is a very important and integral part of it, but not the only part and here comes the good news. Other aspects we can develop ourselves. For example the Android wallet. We have a working Android wallet available. People can do transactions, but it’s not very user-friendly. It can be much better. So we are working on a completely new wallet, built from scratch. With our own designed interface in our familiar and friendly Guldencoin design. We expect this to be ready within three months.
Another thing we are working on, is an app for merchants. Very easy to use and also with that same friendly Guldencoin design. iOS and Android, which will make it much easier for merchants to accept payments and for people to pay with NLG. We will start with iOS, hopefully this month, and Android will follow shortly after.
Beside this, there is a lot of other development going on and you’ll be updated about this in the next few weeks. For now we would like you guys to help us with ideas for iOS.

I think crowdfunding is the quickest solution, although but not the best. People have to stay interested, so fast progression is very important, this can only be achieved when enoughf funding is available. If we know how much funding is necessary it makes it easier to make a decision.
