I made a couple of deals with the end result being trading our 135-chip S7 for a 162-chip S7.  Ever since receiving the RMA'd boards from Bitmain, the one S7 that was repaired was only getting about 4.4TH/s.  We should be able to get 5TH/s from the new unit.  The downside is that we will be down a miner for the next 5-6 days, but I believe it is the right choice.  I am still waiting for a response from Bitmain about getting the non-functioning blade repaired a second time.

The TLS certificate for nastyfans.org was to run out. Now I switch server to use Let's Encrypt. I expect there are no problems. But please report if your browser complains.

Thank you, I've never heard of Lets Encrypt. Very cool!

k got a question about nasty seats and coins when u sell new coins doesn't that decrease the payout to the other nasty seat holders ?

or are you buying back seats and replacing them in the coins?

New seats aren't created when a coin is sold.  Existing seats are "minted" into coins.  You have the option to buy seats for sale on the auction and then "mint" them yourself.  If you do not want to create an account or you don't want to mess with the auction, you can purchase a Minted Seat where I provide the seat for you.  I am currently charging $15/seat if you purchase this way, so it typically does save you a few dollars to mint your own seats.

Today I received replacements for our 2 dead boards from Bitmain.  I just finished installing them and you should see a hashrate increase shortly.  Smiley

EDIT:  That was short lived.  12 hours later one of the boards is already showing dead.  I've emailed Bitmain.
EDIT 2:  A week later and still no response from Bitmain.  Another email has been sent and I have reached out to my contact with Bitmain US to see if he can be of any assistance.

In hand miners are always better than pre-orders.
By the time Alpha ships their miners will be competing with a flood of ZeusMiners that started shipping 2 days ago.
Zeus is very focused on it's OEM's as well.  Alpha will have to put out 1 gh/s units to make a dent when they ship.
It is crazy how fast scrypt mining is hitting and the manufacturers are getting it out the door.  They all learned from the SHA-256 ASIC miner influx.
The longer any of them take to ship the less use they will be as the smaller companies are focused on getting the units out now not some distant ship date they may or may not make.

I've sent in some Minted Seats to have 24kt gold plating added to them.  A total of 10 5oz coins & 50 1oz coins will receive the additional gold plating.  I am not completely certain how I will go about offering them for sale yet, but feel free to PM me if you are interested in purchasing one.  10 of the 1oz coins will be given matching BTC address prefixes to the solid gold 2oz coins.

How long before unpaid seat purchases are confirmed?  Is this a manual process?  The bitcoin transaction for the purchase has 14 confirmations at the moment.  Just bought my first seat to join the club.

I see no pending transactions. If your purchase order was a problem please report details here or private message me or with the nastyfans post form.

So I'm not sure how to really interpret these, but i have had 6 seats (one coin, one online) pointed at one coin for a bit under a year I believe, and usually i get about .00-.01 cents of sats per week. This week, I received .001024, which is about .045 US cents. Did something change this past week? I see upstream in the blockchain a few new blocks were found recently, is that it? Can anyone explain? thanks! Smiley

These numbers show how much NastyPoP payout method on NastyPool is performing. This is interesting mostly to NastyPoP miners. But also interesting to members because most donations to nastyfans are from NastyPoP miners.

If you sign in to nastyfans.org and look at donations you can see full history of all donation payouts. ("show past distributions" button on donations page.) This shows all details of each distribution so you understand where the donations come from and why your part of payout was what it was.

Unpaid seat purchases are confirmed after 6 confirmations and I believe it's automated. Perhaps something wrong happened and you should contact nonnakip.

We're going to need a bigger heatsink.

Great efficiency, not so great price--especially considering delivery in late March or April.

By then the difficulty will likely be around 160 billion--1TH will only bring in 0.094BTC/month at that rate. Given the asking price of 0.42BTC/TH it seems like a bad buy especially after factoring in the ship time, possible delays, PSU costs, electricity costs, and, most importantly, bullshit specs.

I don't trust manufacturers anymore. The Avalon6 isn't stable at the advertised 3.65TH/s, instead it was quickly revised down to 3.45TH/s. I've heard the S7 was unreliable--and it also is less efficient than the 0.25J/GH at the wall that was claimed initially by bitmain. They suddenly switched their specs, without an official announcement, to 0.25J/GH at board level. ASICMINER and KnC made units that had the tendency to melt power cables/catch on fire: That feature sure wasn't listed on their specs page! There's no way in hell I would ever preorder this miner. I would wait and see how it really performs.

But maybe I'm just too salty.  Wink

What are people's thoughts about this miner pre-order: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/optiona-is-allways-good-16nm-asic-100wths-01jgh-on-wall-max-31thsminer-1317180

My guess is that it is threshold related.

Hi, i buyed 1 nastyfan minted seat coin on a recent auction, and i want to know if its better to mine on nastypool with the coin address, or its better with another bitcoin wallet.

It's really your choice, but I prefer to keep my mined coins more liquid than those on physical Bitcoins.
