Westbrook is not the same Westbrook anymore, there is a huge chance that Jokic will take his place, eventually, because the latter has now change the system in the game of basketball just like what Stephen Curry did when the Golden State was still on the height of their careers and now,
True.
Jokic has brought NBA to another level and this is what's gonna be observed by other teams they'll look at the formula of what the Nuggets did for obtaining this year's title.

many folks have said that he (Jokic) brought the playing style of Europe towards the NBA.
And the truth is that from other region are the ones that's dominating the NBA on its own land.
When I saw one article about how the Miami Heat was defeated twice by a European, it made me smile. Dirk Nowitzki and Nikola Jokic. Truly, the NBA today is changing, thanks to the Europeans that had been coming into the league. Who knows, maybe Doncic is next. Another player who plays differently from other players. No such thing as the "hops" or "speed" but he can definitely score inside by only using his brain and his strong body. Vice versa of Ja Morant who is relying upon his speed and hops.

Nikola Jokic changed the way we look at NBA and especially at the younger players who never saw how Magic, Bill, and Larry did it. It's almost like this, the Joker revived a strong big man, not like a "Shaq" big man but more of a versatile big man. And, I have no doubts Jokic will keep on passing more records from way back some of us were born.

Might be hard to break WB's record though for triple double. I guess it's better for him to retain it for next year. But it's going to be hard to win back back as teams are going to upgrade their roster for sure.
Eventually, that record will be broken as Jokic continues to play with more confidence. Unlike Westbrook's record, which was mostly caused by stat-padding with little impact on the team's success, I bet that even if Westbrook returns to OKC, he will not generate that same level of triple-double consistency anymore, as he has already slowed down.

There are some factors that a team should consider first especially their health because a severe injury mainly in their superstar will literally make the team crumble as I think it is evident enough to see that Jokic cannot handle the team in his own just like Murray cannot handle the team.

I absolutely agree with you.
It's very difficult for them to win a championship without Murray and Jokic. Both players need to be healthy.
When Jokic or Murray are injured, they can't fill that void as a team.

The first championship in history must be feeling magnificent for Nuggets.   Cheesy

Jokic had another incredible game and it was nice to see in the game to seal the deal for his team by 4-1. He got 28 points and 16 rebounds firstly. However the most impressive statistics was his having 75% FG made - 12/16. On one hand Butler played quite poorly for Heat. 27% FG made is just horrible. He was much better than this before the final series. Heat really needed Butler to bounce back.

Herro didn't even play but like I said before this wouldn't have changed much thing anyway. Because he just returned from an injury.

Congratulations to Jokic and Nuggets!

Jokic is fun to watch. I can see Denver winning 3 or 4 championships with this team.

I don't think they can win 3-4 more championships, because there are better teams.
If they match like this, they can win, otherwise it's very difficult.

Jokic is a unique actor, everyone who watches it knows it.

It's not that impossible for them to do that and having their 1st championship did made things more possible to achieve in the few seasons to come but considering as well that they just got their first chip, it's quite premature to think about getting 3-4 championships just because they are a better team and probably much better than others just like how they finished top in the West while also giving a hard time for the teams in the East.

There are some factors that a team should consider first especially their health because a severe injury mainly in their superstar will literally make the team crumble as I think it is evident enough to see that Jokic cannot handle the team in his own just like Murray cannot handle the team.

And for those who made a bet for the NBA champion. Congratulations to you guys.
Here is the odd of how much is it before the season ended or before the playoffs started.

8.50. It's not bad.

A significant multiplier for a team that finished in the number one spot in the West. It's evident that the Nuggets have been underestimated, which is why their wins rewarded bettors who trusted the team.

By the way, the odds for the NBA championship in the 2023-2024 season are already available. You can check them out here:

So I've been trying to tally up my seasons wins amd losses and it's looking Dead even almost which I guess is a win lol. Had some really good stretches this year but nothing too crazy.  Honestly won mostly with the Knicks this year did well with the jalen brunson props which were underestimated in the beginning of the year.  Kind of sad basketball goes away for a little bit Sad  oh well bring on nfl!

I am right around the same area as you.  I am kicking myself for not putting money on the game last night.  I figured Denver would win, but I thought that getting 9 points was a good amount to want to take the Heat. That was my plan, but lost track of time and didn't end up getting a bet in.

It was a decent season of basketball gambling for me, but I'm with you, bring on the NFL!  Lot of mini-camps opened today, can't wait.

Yes, same here, the line is there for us gamblers to take and win at least the last game in this season and take home some winnings. But I was not able to bet and didn't pull the trigger.

In any case, we have to wait then, 4 months of waiting, damn, I might also go and bet on other sports. Or at least a basketball game that is local to us or even collegiate as well. And with that Nuggets win, congrats to those who follow them throughout this series.

Yeah I'm still kicking myself for not betting.  I didn't bet a whole lot over the entirety of the playoffs, but the few times I did I did pretty well because I had a pretty good feeling how those games might play out.  I just wish I had been more aggressive as I was definitely more right than wrong overt the course of the playoffs.

I'm not sure where you're from, but if you're not in to it already, you should try betting NFL.  I mean it requires you to pay attention to it, but it's a great game and by far the biggest game bet on here in the United States.

Jokic is fun to watch. I can see Denver winning 3 or 4 championships with this team.
I am thinking 2 or 3 only because somewhere in the future another super team will be created just to defeat them. The Bucks might add more strength to their shooters and with their new head coach Adrian Griffin, things might change for them.
There's also the Phoenix Suns who are fully loaded with stars, it's just a matter of chemistry before they go to the Western Conference Finals too which I think will give the Nuggets a hard time.

If you genuinely wish to approach sports betting seriously, it becomes less complicated. By utilizing a spreadsheet, you can track your income relative to the current date, much like managing a business. This allows you to have a clear understanding of your progress. However, if you are engaging in gambling purely for recreational purposes, it is not essential to establish a substantial bankroll or maintain detailed records.
For me, it's just for my records. In FIBA basketball before, I made a post about how much I won and lost because the games are not that many so I can just use the records on Stake.com to browse my history.
But in NBA, there are too many games, and browsing all the records will take me maybe 2 or 3 days before I can copy all my records to a spreadsheet.  Cheesy

And for those who made a bet for the NBA champion. Congratulations to you guys.

All things considered I think the final game of the NBA season went as it should have and gamblers should be happy.  You had to think the Nuggets would win at home and if you bet on that then you were a winner.  The spread and the Heat having their backs against the wall also made the Heat + 7.5 a good bet to make and the one that I would have chosen.  Both bets were winners and I imagine those were the two most popular bets made by basketball watchers, so all is well that ends well.  Now when can we start betting on Stake about where players will end up once the trades start kicking off.

Let's just face that the triple double Westbrook was already gone since he was traded towards the Washington Wizards because if I recall it correctly, since that point, his stats declined over the years until now that he's actively playing for Los Angeles Clippers but for Jokic though, he is still young and have more years left in the league, in which I see him breaking a few more records including Westbrook's all-time triple double because right now, he's in the 7th place and maybe next season he will replace Magic Johnson in the 3rd place.
There's still more to come from him, and his impact is truly enormous. I wouldn't be surprised if he joins the conversation among the greatest of all time (GOAT) in the NBA. Jokic has truly elevated the competition for big men, emphasizing the importance of not just attacking the paint and rebounding, but also excelling in passing the ball and shooting beyond the arc.

Quitely achieving and he still doing the same, I like him as he's following the pattern of a-like Dirk before.

No words but more on the action inside the court, let the fans believes and admire you and let them speak for you if
how appreciative they are with what you are doing to give them the entertainment that they've want to see from you.
Hope to see more hardwork from Jokic and the rest of the Nuggets.

Bro, I hope I can do that.
Well, this is a good lesson, I might try to make a spreadsheet next season just so I could trace back all my bets and maybe calculate how much my profits or my losses are. I would not care too much about it but it will be nice to see how good or bad I did back and maybe it could also be a lesson if I see bets where I am emotionally choosing.  Cheesy

I don't know mate if that is a good practice or not, so for me, I won't complicate things and create like a spreadsheet to track everything Win Lose column. For me it doesn't matter, we already know that risk when we start to bet on NBA games and it's based on analysis.

Anyway, everyone is very different, so I have nothing against those who wants to track everything and right it down.

And just like the rest of NBA bettors, yeah, why not look for the WNBA and see how it goes for us.

I won something big this season but it's buried deep in the history of Stake.com and I am too lazy to be digging it with so many pages to scroll.
But I remember it's a long-player props bet builder and I am also shocked it all hit. But when I tally all up, I may have more on the losing side in single bets than the winning side. Next season, we will see. Lots of changes are already happening in the coaching field, I hope players won't be rotated too much as our bets will also go crazy.

I guess this is it for us here in this thread. @stadus always close this down for a rest and will be opened again in October. Thank you, guys, for all the tips.

If you like WNBA, you could share your picks here in the thread created by @YuginKadoya.

Hello Guys.

I think tonight is the last night cause Denver will champ.

My picks for tonight.

Denver Nuggets(-1,5) vs Miami Heat = First Quarter Win 1,70 Odds.

Bam Adebayo Points, Assists and Rebounds = 33,5 Over 1,82 Odds.

Good luck guys.

My bets lost.

Bam Adebayo had 0 points, 0 rebounds and 0 assists in the last quarter. I lost my bet by 1 point.
Sometimes it just doesn't happen. Sad

I wrote that it would be the last game.
Denver Nuggets won the series 4-1 to become champions.
I've been saying it from the beginning Smiley
