No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small

However, it was Dame time yet again, he defended his title, KAT was only able to make the final round.

KAT and Trae Young both reached the Finals; bettors could have cashed in big money if one of them had won the competition. If I recall correctly, the odds were around x6.5 for Trae Young and x7.00 for KAT. This big man is more reliable than the other bigs; I mean, he has done it before, so there's always the confidence in him. Still, a fun competition to watch. I just miss Curry; things could have been different or easier for him.

I don't see much competition for Mac McClung in the slam dunk contest. He should be able to defend his title. I wish i had taken him at 1.60, odds have dropped a lot since it first opened, making it almost unplayable now.

My only bet for tonight is Lauri Markkanen to score 20+ in R1. I might even sprinkle some on him to win the contest, why not? Lauri is shooting 40% on the season, /L5 at 42%. He did compete in Utah last year and finished with 20 despite missing both deep balls and going 1/5 on his moneyball rack. He needs to move the moneyball rack from being at the end though, you get there in rhythm and all but also fatigued. It should be placed on the left wing or at the top of the key, where Lauri shoots best.

Right on the money for you again, I was going to go for KAT anyways but one nap too long for me, yet again, I only met Malik Beasley shooting in the first round.

Stephen Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu who's your pick?

As for the betting odds, Curry was the heavy favorite.

In case you miss , you can watch her highlights where she scored 37 points in the final round. AFAIK, no one has ever done that in the NBA.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DquTVwX4njo

I might go for Ionescu here. I am a fan of these two players and I am also a fan of NBA and WNBA. I think Ionescu has a touch that will give her the win in this game although I don't doubt Steph Curry will keep the game as close as possible.

Anyway, here is my bet line for the All-Star events later and tomorrow.

NBA All-Star 2024 - Three-Point Challenge Shootout - Winner
Ionescu, Sabrina @2.80

NBA All-Star - Slam Dunk Contest - Winner
McClung, Mac @1.36

NBA All-Star - Three-Point Contest - Winner
Haliburton, Tyrese @5.50

NBA All-Star 2024 - Skills Challenge - Winner
All-Starts, Team @2.60 Tyrese Maxey, Trae Young, and Scottie Barnes.

And for the All-Star MVP.
NBA All-Star - Most Valuable Player
Haliburton, Tyrese @9.00

Well, we are playing in Indiana so I am expecting they will feed the ball to Hali most of the time and try to shoot those awkward-style three-pointers.

WOW! We got the same picks for yesterday's game and congrats on making 2 out of 3 wins for your bets, here are the results I was busy yesterday which is why this is late as this is yesterday's game however I really think this is OK as we are entering an All-Star Game on February 19, but here are the result of my picks

Memphis Grizzlies VS Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks (1.15) - LOST - It was a big loss for the Milwaukee Bucks as this should be a winning game for them as this is a Grizzlies team that doesn't have Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, Luke Kennard, or even Derrick Rose and Brandon Clarke in the team for sure the Bucks could surely win this one but what has happened to the Milwaukee Bucks for sure it was Ziaire Williams and GG Jackson II have outsmart the Bucks and played well for sure the Milwaukee Bucks just underestimated the Memphis Grizzlies in this game.

Utah Jazz VS Golden State Warriors

Golden State Warriors (1.79) - WIN - This game at 1st was a great game for the Golden State Warriors, and they completely dominated the Utah Jazz, and dominated the Jazz in the 1st half but the Utah Jazz held on to their momentum and got the lead in a little while it was all thanks to Draymond Green and Klay Thompson they have played a deep role for the Warriors squad that led them to victory I thought that the Utah Jazz would turn the tables around but Sexton missed the 3 to make it an overtime for the Warriors to win.

Portland Trail Blazers VS Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota Timberwolves (1.22) - WIN - From start to finish the Minnesota Timberwolves are hitting the Portland Trail Blazers really hard and were on the lead in the remainder of the game until the game ends, it was the Timberwolves that are a solid team and no wonder that they will surely win against the team that is in the bottom of the lineup, it surely was not surprising as it is really common for Minnesota Timberwolves winning in this game and against the Trail Blazers.

Here are the results of the games yesterday.
Utah Jazz - Golden State Warriors - Golden State Warriors (-1.5) - Win! Sadly, I got greedy and made one more bet @-7.5 for the Warriors and I lost it. The Jazz were proving they were not to be underestimated and fought well in the 4th quarter.
Memphis Grizzlies - Milwaukee Bucks - Milwaukee Bucks (-10.5) - Loss! I guess I am underestimating the Grizzlies a lot of times now. I only trusted them once and I won that game. Will keep this in mind from now on.
Portland Trail Blazers - Minnesota Timberwolves - Minnesota Timberwolves (-10.5) - Win! Too easy for the Timberwolves. Another big performance for Anthony Edwards. It seems like that guy has rare off nights. He is always ready to shoot the ball with confidence or attack the paint.

So, we have All-Star later.
Here are the Panini Rising Star challenge lines.

Sadly, the handicaps are not available. I don't know if there will be.
I am rooting for Team Pau but I want to add some spreads for better profit but there's none.
Anyway, I am still betting for them and will just have to take that 1.28.
On the other side, I think Team Jalen is better so I will be rooting for the underdogs.

Good luck guys and have a great All-Star entertainment. Wink

Just got lucky there, there were moments when I think that the Warriors are going to lose that game and choke again. As I remember there were games in the past at least 2 or 3 games for them that they have a good lead and then let their opponent put a comeback.

The warriors could have keep their win streak if they didn't allow the Clippers to come back and win. Despite that, I think the Warriors is a decent team and they still good to back, especially now that they are climbing in ranking, they'll continue to climb as being in the play-in tournament might be too risky for thme.

I didn't see the game because I just watch the Warriors game, but yes, Bucks under coach River is still struggling and trying to figure everything. For sure Doc Rivers will be criticized in this game. Congrats also to those who win tonight, I think majority ride on the Warriors to win ML or even -2.5 might do it for them.
You can avail and NBA league pass, you can watch games at the same time with 4 windows so you will not miss the action. I just recently subscribe, it's possible to watch but I can't focus, maybe you can if you'll try.

Only one game with close odds and that is Utah Jazz vs Golden State Warriors. Both the teams playing back to back games and both teams lost their game. Warriors are slightly fav in this game with 1.8x odds but are the away team. Still 1.8x looks tempting enough to go for it. Just need Curry to show up at crucial moments and we are good.

Yes, ML will be enough for this game, I will also go with this one (I'm back betting on the NBA again).

I'm looking at the Bucks vs Memphis game, initial handicap is -9.5 for the Bucks, maybe this is a trap, so I'm taking Memphis +11.5 @1.91, seems appealing to me.

Wolves vs Portland, Minnessota beat them the last time and cover the spread, but it was close game till the 4th quarter when Timberwolves pour everything and win by a huge margin, -7.5 @1.68.

Great bet on this one mate, 3/3 perfect.

The big upset here is the Bucks, they try to make a comeback and avoid this upset. But they fell short.

In the Warriors game, I thought that they are going to choke, they allow the Jazz to make a comeback and they almost force a OT in this game. The Jazz has a lot of chance to tie the score but they can't make that important 3 point shot.

Updated record 15-11 (58%) ---got 0-2 since the Suns pick ended as push. Big drop on the winning percentage as well, so let's bounce back.

Pick 1 Cavaliers -9.5 - loss
They loss to Sixers on their first game back at home, now it's time for them to start winning. The spread is high but they have been covering the high spread when they are winning.

Pick 2 Indiana -4 - loss
Loss to charlotte, I'm expecting them to beat the Raptors on the road.

Pick 3 Denver -5 - loss
Also coming from 2 losses on the road, one from the team that they'll be hosting the Sacramento Kings. Nuggets are fresh here while Kings are on a back to back game. Murray is listed as doubtful, I think if he will not play they'll be fine as there are lots that would step up on a must win game.

Pick 4 Warriors -3 - loss
Warriors has been hot and are on a winning streak. Clippers though needs to bounce back but since they are without Kawhi Leonard. I like to continue following the Warriors hoping their win streak will continue, they are on 5 win streak now.

Updated record 15-15 (50%) ---loss all my 4 picks. 0-4

I guess it's timely to rest for now after that 4 losses. My win rate now is at 50% but that's a losing rate since the odds are -110 and below on my picks. I guess I'm just gonna enjoy the all star break without a bet, will be back fresh and will try to start winning again.

They don't have the momentum and they are quite inconsistent recently, so it wasn't surprising at all. The last shot attempt could have force the game into overtime but there was a miscommunication on the screen and Lillard loss the ball and just throw the last shot without a clean look. That's a lesson to learn for them, if they can't beat an undermanned team, how much more the stronger teams.

In the Warriors game, I thought that they are going to choke, they allow the Jazz to make a comeback and they almost force a OT in this game. The Jazz has a lot of chance to tie the score but they can't make that important 3 point shot.
Jazz had a great 4th quarter run but the last sequence when they got the offensive rebound, Collins probably panic and threw the ball out. If they were able to get that ball, there's a decent chance a game will went to overtime. I thought it's a de javu on their last game.

Curry was probably tired but good thing Thompson played with great percentage of shooting. I think it will be the same output on their last meeting, Warriors won't allow to loss here after a disappointing loss against the Clippers. They have a very comfortable lead now, if they'll melt again and allow the Jazz for a comeback win, another criticism will be incoming.

On the other game, Timberwolves vs Portland, end of 1st quarter and Timberwolves are already up by 30 points.

Both Klay Thompson and Draymond Green save the Warrior's Asses, and the truth is those three are still the main line-up when the going gets tough for the Warriors but a sure thing about the Warrior's line-up if the main player Stephen Curry can not carry the whole team there are players that still can make it right, and against the Utah Jazz that consists of new players as well Jordan Clarkson didn't show his potential towards the game While Keyonte George right now is getting his career high in this game and just like the Warriors the new players is showing good potentials.

And right now it is another long break for the NBA because they are readying it for the NBA All-Star event,

Congratulations on that one mate, Memphis Grizzlies team really stepped so that Malik Beasley 2+ 3pts was really a close one, wasn't it ? dude shot 1/7 all night long from the 3pt range, he made his 2nd 3pt shot with just 46 seconds left on the clock, and he got one more immediately on the Bucks next possession with just 15 seconds interval, If it were to me I probably would have called it a night, because I was expecting Damian Lillard to be the one take those 2 3pts to close the margin of game.

Grats one more!

What are your thoughts on NBA All Star Night ? Who you for the 3 point contest and the Slam dunk as well, could KAT pull this off again like he did a few years, I remember vividly how we had that conversation right on this thread.

It was really unexpected because the Memphis Grizzlies is not a team that would likely make an upset game and against the Milwaukee Bucks of all the teams for them to take that upset game and because of this I think I am glad that I haven't made a bet for this game as I would surely take the side of the Milwaukee Bucks over the Memphis Grizzlies that doesn't have Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, Derrick Rose, for sure most players of the Memphis Grizzlies can not play so for sure this is really unusual.

Based on my obseravation in the past, the heavy favorites doesn't win most of the time (not sure with the stats here).

I'm not interested betting on the slam dunk but I'll be watching it. However, with 3 point contest, I'm sure I'll land my bet on the player that I find has a good stroke with attractive odds.

here's the odds for the contest.

Quote
The NBA 3-Point Contest at Lucas Oil Stadium is the second event of All-Star Saturday, with the overall festivities set to begin at 8 p.m. ET. Lillard is the betting favorite at +475, with Haliburton listed at +550 in the latest 2024 3-Point Contest odds. Trae Young, Malik Beasley, Jalen Brunson, and Karl-Anthony Towns are listed at +600, with Lauri Markkanen at +650 and Donovan Mitchell at +700. Before making any 2024 3-Point Contest picks, be sure to check out the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend predictions and betting advice from SportsLine expert Matt Severance.

I think I'll take Trae Young with +600.

V. Williams Jr. 5+ assists / M. Beasley 2+ 3pts @1.83  won

Vince Williams Jr. is SG/SF who's been getting a lot of minutes playing the point for the Grizzlies. I hope Bucks won't be too arsed to play defense tonight just days before the All-Star Weekend. Regardless if it's a blowout or not kid is locked to get 35+ minutes of action. He's covered 5+ assists in 5/L5 (averaging 7.4 in that period).

Beasley has covered 2+ 3pts in 4/L5, he and Lillard will compete in the three-point contest, so perhaps a shootout between the two? This game gonna make a great practice since the Grizz defense is non-existent, they give a shit ton of open looks from three.

And 40 minutes before the game, the odds lowered to 1.74. I should have bet early when it was still 1.8x.

But in any case, still attractive though, so I did put a bet on them. It's not about the Warriors, its that their opponent, the Jazz has been struggling on their last couple of games and then don't known how to take advantage of Lauri Markkanen in the paint.

Only few games that Curry didn't show up, it's more on Klay Thompson to bring back his game here.

I don't like any of these 3 games that are on tonight.  Clippers hooked it up for me in the 4th quarter last night.  Dubs are definitely going in the wrong direction at this point.  I know he wants to be a warrior for life but steph might want to think about moving on to end his career their future doesn't look any brighter anytime soon.
