"We are not blaming the community for anything." except for the 6 month delay because the community didn't beta test enough for you. You change your narrative to fit your scheme. How sad and goes against the ethics of what this movement was supposed to be. Now it is just a circle jerk of people sending worthless codes back and forth to one another. This coin does N O T H I N G !

We didn't delay the launch, just because there was no launch date set in stone for NEM. Our launch dates were tentative and we made sure to refrain from posting them and repeatedly underscore that they were only tentative. NEM was simply not ready to be launched, there is no blame here. Like I said, distortions and empty critic will not help. Only thoughtful criticism will.

P.S. You are always free to sell your stake. Make sure to use your freedom.

If you guys would walk the walk and not blame the community for your flaws you might actually make a name for yourself. But it is nothing but lip service and quieting any criticism, sticking to the status quo I see. "Movement" my behind.

dandruff1138,

We are not blaming the community for anything. The above was a clear explanation of where NEM stands, and what we have to offer now. It is also there so that people can see and understand that something has been done, but more importantly, it is there to signal that this is not a pump and dump scheme. We have just launched, are working on things, but this is just the beginning and there's still a lot to be done. We will talk about the future, but that is another story.

As for the criticism, everyone can play the role of the critic, especially on bitcointalk. But it's quite something to be able to offer some thoughtful criticism, that is the tricky part and the part we are actually looking for yet mostly fail to see in your posts.

My importance is quite high but I only generate blocks when I am logged into my wallet. I have delegated harvesting activated and running.

Have you set up a remote node under settings? If it is "localhost" under host entry that means that you've activated delegated harvesting but you are harvesting on your own node (on the same computer). I suggest trying out few nodes from here: https://forum.ournem.com/vps-nodes/list-of-dedicated-vps-nodes-to-conect-nem/

If you do this right, you can turn off your PC and you will be harvesting on that remote node.

Hope this helps!

Ok thanks. This was the missing link.

Do you still harvest when logged out of ones account?

If your node is booted.

Learn more about harvesting here:
http://blog.nem.io/how-local-and-delegated-harvesting-works/
http://blog.nem.io/how-to-use-delegated-harvesting/

By the way, we have lots of great tutorials on our home page:
http://blog.nem.io/nem-tutorial-list/

So i've done all that but when i shut down my computer with delegated harvesting running I dont generate any blocks.. or thats what seems to be the case..

What is your importance?

My importance is quite high but I only generate blocks when I am logged into my wallet. I have delegated harvesting activated and running.

The problem is the low volume (=no interest)!
Look at Nxt a example. It has great features, but there is no interest and comunity, there is no way for it!
On this NEM MUST work, as sooner as better

Do your research. There were long times, where nxt didn't have acceptable rates. especially in the beginning...
then there was more interest, then there was less. that depends on the time. volume of btc is also low atm...

Are you talking about trading volume?

Wouldn't the distribution and the amount of XEM that is being held mean more in terms of a metric for interest in the coin and platform? I mean, wouldn't the people who are truly interested be the ones holding onto their XEM once they've bought whatever they want to have? Using myself as an example, I either have bought or hope to buy a little over 100,000 XEM. That purchase would be part of trade volume. But that is nothing compared to the size of my stake, which has yet to even leave my wallet, but never registers as trade volume.

I vote for ninja launching new features in the future so people must be steadily invested to profit from news, without leeching from announcements.

no intention to flame or anything, just understand, from an investor point of view:
why should i invest in XEM now when services and features based on that will maybe see the light in an year (this is what i've understood looking at some posts here)?
what about the ROI, if I invest now, rather then, for example, in 7/8 month from now?

That's a good question. I'd be very interested in what the devs have to say.

As an investor myself, what I am hoping to see is a gradual increase in price as new features get rolled out, word gets out and more people get interested in owning and using XEM and NEM. If that actually happens, then of course the earlier you get in the better. But if the price hangs out where it is for another six months, then it would make sense to wait and then jump in right before the rise. The kicker is that it's tough to predict what will actually happen. I do believe there will be much progress made by the developers within a year--we're not going to have to wait an entire year for the next feature to be completed. I think the wait a year post was more about long term and big picture thinking. But by this time next year, there should be a whole lot more developments and new features.

I have a Suggestion:

Due this is a movement, we should discute about if we should create a NEM Club or something similiar! Everyone can join paying a small fee every month (as example 0.04 BTC), or every year... For that he should get more Informations than the public part of Forums, and maybe to grant a say for this People.
With the fees NEM can Support aktive Marketing or distribute bounties...

I'm not sure if it is right way, but so any critic would have a opportunity to making something self.

Critics on this forum are a satoshi a dozen. NEM was never positioned or promoted as a pump & dump scheme. Those who feel holding onto XEM is a bad investment really should just sell out and leave. But they won't. They'll keep trolling and FUDing the thread. So thankful the forum doesn't put a cap on how many you can ignore. My ignore button just might save this thread for me.

I agree with you. I came to a similar conclustion. The price will increase mid- and long-term along with new features. And I believe that the NEM developers have some good features into their pipeline.

After some discussion with a coleague of mine we came to the conclusion that this took a year + to develope, and the launch was 6 moths late. Taken these facts into consideration, do not expect anything groundbreaking for at least, AT L E A S T another 12 months. Prepare for 40 sats in the next 12 months of discussion and no results. There will be talk and talk and more talk. Look at this realistically. The crypto world second hand moves fast, and this coin will be the next reddcoin, syscoin, vert, etc... These developers lack marketing skillset. They also have nothing innovative but talk about innovation. Talk gets us no where in this game.
