I tried to send some xem, but button doesn't work, and cannot send xem.
I don't know why?

What exactly is happening when you click on "Send XEM"? Just, nothing? What OS/browser are you using? Any details you can give are appreciated.
Thanks. I succeeded in sending at last.
But now, it doesn't work again.
I am using Window Vista 32bit / Crome. standalone.
When I click , pop up shows.
At the bottom of it, colorful button and button is normal.
But when dark gray button and light gray button shows, only the button works.
Besides this, when I try to work NCC to open my wallet, in many cases, there shows only yellow bar on top of screen without full colorful screen or unperfect full screen only without letters. Usually, I succeed in opening wallet after several trial.

I am not sure exactly what the issue could be based on that description. If you have the yellow bar at the top what does it say? Is it complaining that you need to boot your local node? Before trying to send any XEM, make sure you have a green bar at the top of your NCC that says you are synchronized. Also, this might be obvious but make sure you are filling out all the required fields in the Send XEM popup because the [Send] button will not be enabled until you do.

If you do not have a green bar at the top of NCC saying "Synchronized" then let me know what it says at the top please. Smiley
Sorry for my poor description. I will exlpain it in detail.

(A)NIS is running. NCC is running and I visit Nem Community Client to open wallet.
Normal perfect screen should be composed of following 4 components.
(1) top bar
(2) letters in top yellow bar("NIS need to be booted. please open your wallet and boot......")
(3) Photo under top bar (with letter "NEM" "OR" "English" only)
(4) Letters on photo as following.
  (Getting started.  About NEM.  Setting.
New to nem? Create new wallet.  Already a nember? Open your wallet.)
But I experience <(1) only> or <(1) + (2) only> or <(1) +(3) only> before I meet perfect screen <(1) + (2) + (3) + (4)> after several trial.

When I close my wallet and visit NCC again later, I can meet only green bar saying "NIS is synchronized(at block ...)"
   It's a form of <(1) + (2) only> without (3) & (4).(White empty screen under the green bar)

(B)I open my wallet and after synchronized, I click , and popup appears. Even if I fill all necessary content, button doesn't work, if it was gray color at first. After several trial, when the green button appear, I can send xem successfully.

Okay this is definitely a difficult issue to pinpoint, especially since you say it is working sometimes and sometimes not. This may require developer support to really pin down, but based on your descriptions I am personally leaning towards some sort of strange browser/Javascript issue. My reason for thinking that is that you say you get a green bar with just a white screen underneath and also your issues with the [Send] button not working sometimes even if you fill in all required fields.

There are a couple of ways I can think of trying to troubleshoot this. First, make sure you are running everything clean. By that I mean make sure there are no processes of "java.exe" or "javaw.exe" running, then try starting NCC and NIS fresh. (You may have already tried this, but sometimes just restarting your computer can fix strange issues like this.)

If it's still not working then, could you possibly zip up your NCC and NIS log files, upload them somewhere and PM them to me? You can find the logs in "C:\Users\\nem\ncc\logs" and "C:\Users\\nem\nis\logs". This might help give some insight into the problem you are having.

Also, as it is difficult to see and troubleshoot your problem exactly just through text, would it be possible to PM me some screenshots of what you are seeing when things are not working correctly? I think I know what you mean from your descriptions but it would really help to be able to actually see what you are seeing in order to diagnose the problem more accurately.

Also, if any of the core devs are reading this and would like to chime in with possible solutions, that might be a big help. (Or anyone else who might have any ideas for that matter.)

Hopefully we can resolve this for you! Smiley

and since my last post yesterday, two new exchanges in China have opened up!

Bter https://bter.com/trade/xem_btc
BTC38 http://www.btc38.com/trade_en.html?mk_type=btc&btc38_trade_coin_name=xem

The btc38 deal was also in the works of the marketing team for some time now. We are glad they could finally deliver and get XEM listed.

To quote one of the btc38 messages we've received: "everything is enabled and secured by multisig".

Keep up the good work!

Never back down !!!
A brief clarification and overview

I think it's very important to understand and clarify some things here as some people are unsatisfied with our current situation and this may well be due to some unrealistic expectations. While I make this point, do note that we read everything and appreciate every bit of thoughtful criticism we can receive.

After so much time and energy invested, NEM has finally launched. As you have seen, we have had a fairly smooth launch and our platform seems to be behaving as expected until now. A lot of work has been put into this, and our dev team has done everything to ensure NEM is an innovative and solid platform to build upon. Thus, our launch is a major step forward in proving that NEM is real and that our dev team can really deliver valuable innovation. But while we have launched, NEM is far from complete. In fact, all the work leading to our launch has only been our first major step in taking NEM from concept to reality. We have a great team and a solid technological foundation to build upon, so on the one hand that's everything one can wish for, but on the other, there is still a lot of work to be done. Although we are already ahead of most crypto projects, you must understand that NEM's features, killer apps and ease of use are not here yet, but are expected to be implemented until V1. This is why the price discussion, though seemingly justified now, will probably look at best negligible in the long run. We are planning to hit the masses, but not with the current version.

The real journey has just begun. There will probably be a lot of hurdles and unexpected events along the road, but this will no doubt be one hell of a ride judging by all the great people we have on the team and passionate community members. What I am really saying, is that the real value of NEM lays in the future. Both dev team and marketing team have been and are still working hard because this is not the point when NEM is complete and we can relax, quite the contrary. There's still a long way to go and one year from now, NEM will probably be a lot closer to what we want. Once our we will have those things implemented, then we will be ready to offer real value and utility. That will be the point where we will hype things and everyone will hear about NEM. Right now, well, we're not there and we have work to do, but this goes one step at a time.

Bottom line: The bad news is there is no guarantee in this game, despite best intentions we could fail. The good news is we have a great and passionate team which is still here and even bigger after one year, we have not run away with your money(big plus for this since it's very rare in crypto-land Cheesy) and we have delivered a solid, viable, though not yet complete product. This are the valuable things NEM has to offer now and the things with which it sets out on this journey. As it stands, chances are in our favor but there's still a long way to go, so we'd better start working smart and working together. See you later.

This is a personal note and does not necessarily reflect the views of anyone else in the NEM Team.

Cheers,
xtester

NEM marketers are a solid team and NEM devs are amazing.

There is a lot of negativity and I know a lot of people wanted to wake up on launch day with a full blown ecosystem and be millionaires.  That didn't happen and people are let down.

Instead what we have is a very solidly built NIS with a lot of great APIs and not hardly any third party ecosystem.

As time goes by NEM devs will continue to make the platform even more robust and agile and NEM marketers will help to promote an ecosystem.

Life at NEM had been very busy, and is very different now after launch than before launch and again will be very different after V1 as we will have had more time to get an ecosystem going and additional features and APIs that are not and will continue to not be found elsewhere.

Again, all right now with a budget of $0.  Actually worse than a budget of $0.  We have been spending our own money.  In my case over $600, and others have spent a lot more than me.

So yes, marketing has been busy and hard at work and is still hard at work trying to make things happen in the future.  Hopefully soon we will get a real budget and start to really make a movement.

What a lot of people wanted was to wake up one day at launch and become millionaires with a full ecosystem up and running built on NEM.  That is not realistic even in the best case scenario, but with a lot more hard work and time, it might just be possible.  I know it is my intention.

That´s advertising not marketing.

Marketing means you define your target group and build some use-cases.
After that you can advertise your use-cases.

What I am missing is a strategy and defined goals/milestones.

At the moment it feels like NXT. Build something you don´t know what to do with and nobody wants.
And like you see, no company wants to use NXT, and the price is falling to nowhere. If you have a community full of bagholders you have a problem.

In NEm at the moment everybody who bought a stake on Nxt ae is already a bagholder. So Houston we have a problem!

A couple of pages back makoto said he doesn´t know where Ethereum is heading.
If you informyourself  about them you will see a direction and you see use-cases, a strategy and well done marketing.
NEM has nothing of that at the moment.

So I would suggest that all the devs come to a round table and fix a strategy. Work it out, set milestones and features and inform the community.
The mess is already done, time for action, guys.

General comment:
In my opinion it is very likely that crypto currencies will be used worldwide. I don't know when and I don't know which. I am just pretty sure, that crypto currencies in general will be used. I also think it is very likely, that the world will not trust on one single technology, but use more than 1 good crypto platform/currency, because redundance is needed for such an important system as our financial system. Also: We don't know yet which features will be needed/important in the next years and that's another reason why it is very likely that not only 1 crypto currency will "survive". So everybody who is truly interested in blockchain technology should stop attacking any other crypt platform/currency and just focus on the development and the different features. This is no "i win you lose" situation. Good technology will survive (of course like always a little bit of luck is also needed, we have enough examples for this in the past).

+1. Give these devs a break - they've slaved over coding and catering to everyone for more than a year. Just look at how much work they've done, just as far as community support, compared to devs on most other altcoins. And this is the thanks they get?

It's not their fault that we're in a brutal crypto market. If they had done the exact same thing except launched before Nov 2013, the pricing would've looked dramatically different - even if they had done the same exact things they're doing now. We all know that. We all know that it's a tough market for all altcoins and out of their control. Bitcoin itself is in the toilet. Stop attacking one of the few dev teams on bitcointalk - this forum of hatred and misery and incompetence - that are actually delivering and continue to deliver.

Stop attacking one of the few coins that has a decent change of rising above the sorry mess that crypto has become - in fact, if crypto had more dev teams like this NEM's the crypto market probably wouldn't today be the sorry mess that very few people have much confidence in anymore.

That about sums it up.

well made observation

I hope the NEM devs stop reading this forum for a while, just get summaries from the marketing guys. It's a strange world where talented devs, mathematicians and business people are forced to frequent the same space as immature kids and psycho clowns, but that's how this forum works. Can you ever imagine this mix of people interacting in the real world? There'd be security on the door keeping the dick heads out, but on the internet everyone is 'equal', for better or worse.

This forum is a necessary evil at the moment while the crypto eco-system is small, but the level of toxic behavior here is very damaging, and once a project reaches a certain critical mass (like NXT or Bitshares) it's better to move to your own forum with moderators. Compare this place to nxtforum.org which has standards.

You may like to know, we already have our own forum and lively too.

The entire crypto world is dying a slow death. There is no interest by outside world except a few hardcore speculators. People are slowly losing interest.  The only real hope for revival is ethereum. If that project is picked up by some big names like IBM or Samsung, there is hope  of revival (for all coins).

If ethereum fails, that would be pretty much the end of crypto experiment.  By this time next year, bitcoin would be under $50 and everything will proportionally down. In five years, it will be all over with just some isolated nodes and no exchanges.

Yes, the GoldmanSachsian Übermensch at Ethereum are the only hope for crypto  Roll Eyes

Coming from someone who claimed Nem at launch would have  30 million marketplace. You sure are "reliable" predictable of crypto, lol .. Lets not forget that 70%  of coins are controlled by 6  people, so real marketcap is way way lower than 1 million.  Even this low marketcap is fake and exaggerated.

ethereum is in totally different league. Both  IBM and Samsung showed concept apps based on ethereum at 2015 CES

https://www.theprotocol.tv/adept-demo-ibm-samsung/

I will note that's that's the problem with this "no envy movement"  jokers. They have always been hostile  and jealous of other projects (like makoto1337 is doing above).  We know about all anti-Nxt trolls among Nem fanboys. . Even the founder of Nem, UP, got caught with his pants down when he was posting fud against  simcoin. lol No envy movement? My ass

I don't see ethereum as enemy like "no envy movement" folks.  A successful Ethereum launch that attracts outside interest is good for crypto. Otherwise the whole concept is pretty close to death.

Take a cold shower buddy! People said the exact same thing after the dot com bust, "the internet was a fad, internet based business was exaggerated", it wasn't true then, and it isn't true of crypto now. People always overshoot expectations, ridiculous crap gets released and makes money from early enthusiasm, then the crash, then reality sets in. Too much mania on this forum ... highs are way too big, and lows are over the top.

Blockchain tech and decentralization is too compelling to be a fad. NEM will do very well, just not in 4 weeks.

"NEM marketers are a solid team"  Cheesy

Again, all right now with a budget of $0.  Actually worse than a budget of $0.  We have been spending our own money.  In my case over $600, and others have spent a lot more than me.

So yes, marketing has been busy and hard at work and is still hard at work trying to make things happen in the future.  Hopefully soon we will get a real budget and start to really make a movement.

What a lot of people wanted was to wake up one day at launch and become millionaires with a full ecosystem up and running built on NEM.  That is not realistic even in the best case scenario, but with a lot more hard work and time, it might just be possible.  I know it is my intention.

and since my last post yesterday, two new exchanges in China have opened up!
