It's been a while (actually quite long) since I've posted any stats, so here you go...

April 19: Tests run: 781, Failures: 0, Errors: 0, Skipped: 0
May 01: Tests run: 878, Failures: 2, Errors: 2, Skipped: 3
May 09: Tests run: 952, Failures: 6, Errors: 3, Skipped: 3
May 17: Tests run: 1042, Failures: 14, Errors: 2, Skipped: 3

NIS: Aug 9th: Tests run: 1684, Failures: 2, Errors: 13, Skipped: 0
NCC: Aug 9th: Tests run: 425, Failures: 3, Errors: 1

Most errors in last run of NIS are due to one test, that hasn't been updated to conform to changes in NIS

Some more stats (Sep 04) http://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2180.msg4907#msg4907

For me the most important issue is the not yet implemented/well tested multisig feature. There will be development funds and they should not be managed by singular persons. Everybody should understand that this is for public benefit.

It's good that we have beta builds, that are available for public testing.
having developer funds in multi-sig from day 1 is a very respectable thing to do.  it can really instill confidence in NEM

Could someone ELI5 multi-sig? And why it's vital for NEM to have it on launch?

You wanted eli5...here it is.

Imagine you have a huge pile of cookies in a jar that is locked. It's a special lock and you need 3 keys to open the jar. The cookies belong to you, your brother and your sister. To make sure noone is eating everyone elses cookies the jar can only be unlocked when all 3 keys are turned. So noone get's any cookies unless everyone aggrees to take some out of the jar.

jar = wallet
cookies = fuckloads of NEMs
people = NEMs community (obv. there won't  be 2000 keys)

the point is to not have a single person in controll of a huge amount of funds. Since we're going to have many NEMs sitting in funds we need multi-sig to make sure noone goes rouge.

The reason this instills so much confidence is that literally 99% of the other coins there is always a giant Cookie Monster lurking around. Time and time and time again coins have been "stolen". When NEM launches, it is combatting root of one of the major problems in alts on day one.

Launching without multisig is like playing Russian roulette with a semi-auto.

Wow,  so many great news in a short time,  iam realy curious how the evolution of nem will look in the end of 2015  Grin  .

3Big Announcement is set for today, isnt it?

Ive read some disscuions about the silver coins, is there anything planned to give the coins some evidence of orginality? I mean everbody could copy the coin its not like the casascius coin  https://www.google.de/search?q=casascius&client=firefox-a&hs=mXo&rls=org.mozilla:de:official&channel=sb&biw=1366&bih=618&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=tth4VJ3wOYLyOOrUgbAG&sqi=2&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg

What do you think about a small orginal sign for the coin,  i mean did you thougt to stemp a QR Code on the coin? The QR Code could be linked to the Genesis Block. I know even this could be copied, but it would be interessting to have it on the coin, i ve never seen this before. Or did you already talked about this issue ?

EDIT:  HAve found a coin with QR code  Grin

Im assuming on this scale that the unlocking of the jar will require a certain percentage of keys?

I'm unsure of how flexible exactly we'll be at launch but yes it's possble to set it up to not require every single key.

Is harvesting healthy for the network or just profitable for the miner?
healthy for the network but you need to have certain ports open to be of most benefit. It's the ones with ports open that are important.

Is there going to be or is there already a guide on setting this up to run 24/7?

There's this: https://forum.nemcoin.com/technical-discussion/secure-nis-and-ncc-setup-on-linux/

Do you need to run it on Linux or can I just run it from windows ?

Edit. I intend to have a dedicated computer running windows and also running Node, EMU and NEM would also be a bonus if it runs with the other 2

You should be able to run Node, EMU, and NEM all on a regular windows machine no problem.

Just curious - who was the lead dev responsible for establishing relationships with all of the participating exchanges? xtester? patmast3r?  kodtycoon? Well done.

IIRC:
kodtycoon initially contacted poloniex (or poloniex even contacted him - not sure) about trading NEMStake (the asset) on poloniex. After it was decided not todo that i took over and handled poloniex since then.
The rest is all xtester and there is quite a bit of stuff that is yet to be revealed that was also managed by xtester.

Xtester really has done an oustanding job !
xtester is the man. Don't think he gets the credit he deserves. But in time as announcements are made people will realise the amount of work he has done. Big big thanks to xtester.

+1, I believe lots of people are working hard behind the scenes with NEM, and even though I don't know exactly what xtester has in store for us, I think he has given it a good NEM try.
