mining is so 2012-2013
Well for me it doesn't really matter because I never had my stake on the AE and I don't want to sell it.

But I can understand when people are upset about this. People already have a lot of experience with deadlines being pushed back again and again, and by having their stake on the AE it minimizes their risk because they have the ability to get out if things start looking bad.

Extending the deadline might not bring the effect you are hoping for because people want to keep trading until the last minute.

The next deadline that is set won't be extended. Smiley

Yeah!  Pretty excited.

For me the most important issue is the not yet implemented/well tested multisig feature. There will be development funds and they should not be managed by singular persons. Everybody should understand that this is for public benefit.

It's good that we have beta builds, that are available for public testing.

Is harvesting healthy for the network or just profitable for the miner?
healthy for the network but you need to have certain ports open to be of most benefit. It's the ones with ports open that are important.

Is there going to be or is there already a guide on setting this up to run 24/7?

There's this: https://forum.nemcoin.com/technical-discussion/secure-nis-and-ncc-setup-on-linux/

Do you need to run it on Linux or can I just run it from windows ?

Edit. I intend to have a dedicated computer running windows and also running Node, EMU and NEM would also be a bonus if it runs with the other 2

Harvesting creates the blocks on the blockchain.

Just curious - who was the lead dev responsible for establishing relationships with all of the participating exchanges? xtester? patmast3r?  kodtycoon? Well done.

IIRC:
kodtycoon initially contacted poloniex (or poloniex even contacted him - not sure) about trading NEMStake (the asset) on poloniex. After it was decided not todo that i took over and handled poloniex since then.
The rest is all xtester and there is quite a bit of stuff that is yet to be revealed that was also managed by xtester.

Xtester really has done an oustanding job !
xtester is the man. Don't think he gets the credit he deserves. But in time as announcements are made people will realise the amount of work he has done. Big big thanks to xtester.

it looks that we have a new EXOCOIN with endless delays
I do understand your concerns, but the NEM developers (and I as well) think that it is more important to solve certain issues (multisig is a very important example) than launching "in time". I write "in time" because it was always just an estimation so people have an idea.

Of course this is what all the scam coin devs tell the people, too. To avoid mistrust we try to be as transparent as possible concirning the reasons of the delay.

Nope, the design is not final. I think the front of the coin won't change much, but the back will be changed. Also, the words Proof-of-Importance will be put on the back. I think we'll use the back of the coin to explain the POI algorithm graphically.

I prefer the front of the golden coin. But on the front should be the amount of money and year should be added on back. I do not like that the value is written on the logo, like silver one.

How you explain POI algorith graphically? Can it be attached to NEM logo?

how many exchanges can NEM be listed?
it seems so hot in btt.

BTER, BTC38, Poloniex and Bittrex have all agreed to list NEM

https://forum.nemcoin.com/nem-news-alerts/great-stuff-is-here-%282%29/msg10681/#msg10681

Which is bloody brilliant

The only effect we're really hoping for is a perfect launch with 4 exchanges and a perfectly working network.
If people want to trade until deadline - 1 sec it's their business.

they wrote "We will - for now - not give a new deadline. We have to know when exactly we launch first. We realize that this will probably make people on the AE trade even longer - nothing we can do about that. "

argh, i don't understand why.

I still hold some NEM stakes on AE and i am not going to redeem  them before the last day of redemption period ,because of these delays.

And how is it an advantage to have it on the AE ?
You realize that these delayes are partially decided because people keep them until the last minute possible ?

advantage is that i can sell it anytime i want and not be dependant on  NEM launch date ,which could easily be next year

Yes i think its good, as i ideally would like to be able to trade them on the AE right up to the day before launch. Ive still kept mine on the AE
