Maybe there should be a paragraph on the website explaining what NEM actually is? Preferably in layman's terms so non-tech savvy people will know what it is.

E.g. "NEM is a cryptographic, decentralised payment system and economic ecosystem. Blah  blah no central bank blah blah rewarding users with transaction fees blah blah."

Also might be wise to mention the client is free? Just buzz words

I agree with you Clam. Bringing things down to layman will be key to NEMs continued succes.

Speaking of which, I recall there being talk of having our client compatible with feature phones/non-smart phones - so that our features can reach the masses. Anything new on this?

This is a general summary of NEM: https://medium.com/@xtester/the-new-economy-movement-fb9bb67eb9fe

@andme: this is the thread with the poll you are looking for:
https://forum.nemcoin.com/ideas/nem-silver-coin-for-all-stakeholders/

So will these silver coins be in addition to the normal stake? So each stakeholder will receive 2,250,000 NEM coins AND 1 NEMSilver asset?

Yes, it is a gift to all nemsters in addition to their 1/4000th of NEM (NEM stake) for waiting so long for launch and to celebrate the birth of the NEW ECONOMY Cheesy

Hi all,

I followed all of the steps necessary to redeem my stake through AE, but I am not showing up on the registered list  Huh. My tx id is: 12008247944724463318. Could someone tell me if my stake is confirmed?

Thanks.

Yup. It's very easy to fall for the same traps as others - by assuming people understand even basics that everyone else (like us) considers common knowledge.

You get this in any field regardless of specialty - and you get "specialists" who frequently assume people understand even basics the majority are unaware of.

Clear, step-by step guides are an absolute must, not just in the wallet setup, but also on higher levels such as running nodes on various OS's.

However, having so many stakes under the control of the dev team would cause too much centralization, so it was proposed that the second round of confiscated NEM stakes be used to fund rewards for running nodes to support the network and to purchase 1oz 999 silver bullion NEM coins for each stakeholder (excluding dev/marketing/ecosystem stakes).

A total of 56 users have voted at time of press, the majority (41; 73%) of which seem to support the idea of the silver round distribution. 56 votes is representative of the community because this is roughly about the same as those who voted for the increase in the number of coins (see next topic) as well as the vote for the selection of the logo. Those who have not voted will be seen as being compliant with all options as that is what happens in real life, for example, in political elections or referendums. What is more important is that the thread has so far been viewed more than 1550 times...

Where is the poll?
