The launch will come soon, so are we going to see a marketing campaign or something special to get more people involved?

I was kind of hoping that 2000 shareholders would swarm the all the forums defending and promoting NEM.

Most coins have 10-20 big pumpers/bag holders, sometimes not even that.  These 10 people will create sock puppets and spam threads.  NEM should have 100 times more supporters than any other coin.  I would put us up there on day one with as big as a community of capable people as Litecoin and/or Doge. Only Bitcoin is clearly bigger and packed with a full house of talent, but NEM has a the youngsters advantage of having seen everything that went wrong with all the other crypto's and hopefully avoiding those mistakes.

Yes. THe marketing campaign is each one of us going to 10 people and spreading the news. THat is more effective than just having press releases. Viral is the name of the game.

But how can you get 10 people to care?

When V1 is up and AltNemo rolls out its first application.

when i push the send nemcoin button,it said:A local node needs to be booted before you can send NEM ,so what should i do?

top right, i think next to your wallet name there is a drop down, in there there should be an option to "boot local node" or just "boot node", click that and enter any name or string of text what so ever..

once you have done that, to make things easy next time, you can go down to settings and "auto-boot node on next start up" or something.. and turn on auto boot.. that way you wont have to worry about that again.

done,thank you

@jor27: orange nodes work too, but they are kind of passive. They can sync with the network, receive and send transaction and harvest blocks. They just don't help distributing the new transactions and blocks.
The nodes do work properly the network settings on those system are just not set correctly which prevents them from helping the network. However in most cases those nodes will receive everything just fine.
This is also not a problem of NEM. Every crypto that runs on a non-standard port (so all of them) has the same issue. We just seem to be the only ones who proactively inform people about it Wink

Why this happens?
Because of bad configuration, or may be not enough computing power? Or what?
If configurations - which exactly? Not working port forwarding?

Port are blocked. 99% of the cases only outgoing traffic isn't working so users won't even notice but the network needs properly configured nodes.
They'd have to configure port-forwarding or at least port-triggering.
you might need to go into your firewall settings and make an allowance for port 7890. When creating the allowance you may need to open that port to all pc's and not just home/shared network. That's what fixed it for me.

Wow...
The 27 from 55 - one half of nodes don't work properly... How whole system works at all? Smiley

Here is an image of node Alice's neighborhood:

If you see your node in orange color, you should check if your node is well configured by visiting http://chain.nem.ninja/checknis

What's the last day to redeem AE? No clear answer was posted except "three weeks". That's not an answer.

I know that you will say "that sucks" but there is no date yet. "at least three weeks" is the best answer we can give right now.
