I agree nxt wouldn't be where it is with out those people. But those people would not be their if the nxt core itself wasn't as innovative as it is. Nems core as far as I can tell is even more innovative than nxt so I would assume based on that nem will attract just as Many if not more top class coders due to it being more innovative and attracting far less fud or bad stigma. I can see many people moving from nxt to nem and also from other communities once nem proves itself able to compete with the biggest of dogs. This shit is going to very real very fast. And tbh pat I thought you of all people would have been more optimistic.

there isn't much to discus for those who are not die hard nemsters. A huge amount of info is not released to the public yet. Id be willing to bet with you that this thread is going to go nuts before launch and will retain much of the activity after launch and will continue to gain more interest as time goes by? That goes for the forum too Grin

once we have a white paper and all other tech details il be all over btt promoting nem.

I was on the forum the other day and was in awe of the discussion being made by some of the devs on a particular process. I had not a clue what they were talking about. Working away behind the scenes.

Kodtycoon is right, non tech members havnt really had much to talk about. Discussion activity was high earlier on on the subject of sockpuppets, then it was high when Utopianfuture left.....then not so high talking about the logo......since then we havnt even had any abuse from trolls(apart from CFA ) to defend because I think the argument for the NEM concept was won ages ago.

People, including the tech savvy have just been waiting.....a lot of wallets are going to be opened up soon...Nxt grew with nothing like the base of people behind it like NEM.

Just because the discussion forums have been quiet of late doesnt mean to say it will continue like that....

Most people are waiting for the launch!!!!!!!!!

POI is based on serveral things: How much NEM you have, how much NEM you are transferring to others, how much NEM other are transferring to you. The exact formula is not set in stone so far. That's we are a little vage how it works in details.

First of all i don't think we'll hit top 5 soon. I'd be very happy with top 10 within the first month.
Aside from that - how on earth can people still believe NEM is "not real" ?

I'm not trying to be a downer but keep your expactations in check with reality people.

I thinks he was thinking about interest to join NEM and contribute with development
and growth of the ecosystem by building infrastructure (services) around NEM that will have real world application
i' m mean usability and not just interest in speculation and trading or dumping (assets/coins)
for BTC or FIAT for short term financial gain.

Yes I unfortunately have a stake in several of those coins. Where there's no vision and the development team is incredibly difficult to get ahold of, you suspect the only reason they created their coin was to get beer money or something.

NEM team on the other hand is very large, very communicable and they care about the coin. If you got a problem or a question about NEM - the developers always take the time to help you and or answer your questions, private messages and that is why many people like NEM.

I agree that is a huge part of what gives nem such a good name. The community should always be communicated with in a fast, efficient and friendly manner and I think that's being done very well. I think it comes down to the fact that between devoted devs who are easy to speak to, marketing team and all the people who help out there is always a decent number of people online that can answer questions etc. This is going to be highly important coming up to and at/after launch.. This thread is going to explode.. It's already starting to pick up

Yes, I hope that Rocketheads concerns over a lack of key players will diminish at launch when there will be a lot of interest from senior programmers hopefully.

Can anybody guess what sort of economy size will the ecosystem of NEM has, say, 1 year from now. By economy size, I mean the amount of money equivalent of what can be transacted in the ecosystem by September next year.

The best benchmark is the AE value now in Nxt. How much are they churning per day/week/month?

While we are at the subject of AltNemo, I just thought of something else. But before that I would like to make a comment. I notice there are a lot of cheerleaders in our group singing great praises. Sadly, this will not make NEM a contender for the top spot as a project.

What we need is people who will make it happen. Like what Xtester said, 25 of us who will step in to move it.

If one cannot contribute time because it is too much effort, it is ok. You can contribute financially to AltNemo. Don't just cheer us on. Do something. ;-)

PS. Yes, NEM has got a great things going. But my honest opinion is NEM may never make it there. Reason - don't have a good enough crowd to make it happen. We've only got a 9 month window to make it great. Come 2nd half 2015, we will see tens of platforms and ecosystems claiming to do better.

If you have great programmer friends please introduce and bring them to NEM.
