Here's some news:

http://www.afr.com/technology/vcs-target-australian-blockchain-and-cryptocurrency-firms-with-44m-in-funds-20171120-gzpg9f?btis

Not all correct, but another news:

http://technode.com/2017/11/28/crypto-startup-zeus-exchange-uses-chinese-tech-to-transform-shares-via-blockchain/

Russian community has the biggest following in NEM. People are adopting NEM without us knowing. Seems NEM's tyres have hit the road.

Really nice to read these kind of news. There are happening so much things around NEM these days. Thumbs up!

I would like to see NEM by the end of the year for 50 + cents. All the perspectives of growth are also good news, and soon their stock exchanges, there must go injections into it

Hi all, I was seeking a confirmation of this fact: XEM is a cryptocurrency which is NOT a fork or some sort of Bitcoin. Is it correct?
Should be like that reading the materials from the official sources, but if someone can doubleconfirm I would appreciate.
THX!

Yes, it is coded completely from scratch

soon the 2nd time with catapult  Wink

Yes, it was firstly created in java, and they do a total rewrite from scratch in C++ to have better speed and usability.  Some months and it will be released, looking for $1 price! Smiley

Nice to see that when searching for NEM in Google, the first result is now nem.io rather than Newmont Mining Corporation.

If the whole exchange manipulation of Tethers pans out in the way i think it will, i'd expect NEM to be worth about 10 cents a coin in the coming year, possibly less.

ALOT of coins, bitcoin in particular, are going to implode once this huge exchange ponzi tether scam is blasted out in the open. This is the "bubble" that people have talked so much about, except it's an entirely artificial one, it's worse than we first thought.

All orchestrated by exchanges. The bane of Crypto existence. Might be worthwhile investing in any decentralized exchange projects if any of them are going on. I foresee them getting very popular soon.

The market isnt as paranoid as you with regards to Tether. I am probably in the middle as it does seem shady to say the very least.
What is likely to happen though if it turns out that Tether does not hold currency in any bank backing Tether coin?
Well the first thing that will happen is everyone is going to dump Tether asap which is going to fuel a huge surge in all crypto.
Its anyones guess what will happen after the dust settles though.

Decentralized exchanges though are needed more than ever

VCs target Australian blockchain and cryptocurrency firms with $44m in funds

Start-ups with designs on making it big in the fast-growing world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies will be targeted by two new funds focusing on the Australian market, with almost $44 million to spend.

Apollo Capital, founded by venture capital fund Dominent Venture Partners' Domenic Carosa and Holger Arians and Wall Street veteran Henrik Andersson, is attempting to raise a minimum of $30 million and will specialise in crypto asset investments, which it defines as digital currencies, blockchain-based assets and initial coin offerings.

At the same time an $80 million global blockchain development fund, NEM.io Foundation, is expanding to Australia, with its global director of partnerships and strategic alliances, Jason Lee, planning to deploy around $14 million locally.

Mr Carosa said as the market continued to mature, he expected to see more funds targeting cryptocurrency and blockchain investments.

NEM.io, which has one of the top 10 most popular cryptocurrencies in the world called XEM, will be scouting for blockchain  start-ups utilising its NEM blockchain.

It says it will have a "community-based investment approach", in which the majority of the NEM.io community needs to support the fund, along with other investment conditions.

The foundation is willing to invest up to 50 million XEM in projects, equating to about $13 million. So far it has invested in Melbourne-based start-up CopyrightBank, which aims to be a one-stop-shop to protect digital assets and has raised the equivalent of $650,000 from the fund...

This year?

I think that's a big fat nope. It seems extremely content at the 20c mark.

Yeah definitely, extreeeeemly content I would say. It stayed there the whole year with only some little swings once and then, hopefully it will gain some traction in 2018!

Welt Am Draht
I think its highly unlikely 90% of alts will ever make a new ATH vs btc again. The pool is diluted and bitcoin has become a success, leaving alts in its dust.

There's an ocean of room for alts to grow too, but in terms of the actual ALT/BTC ratio then yes I think it's conceivable none of the major ones will ever be as high again.

Better to switch to USD and then alt holders will feel less hard done by.

But let's see what the inevitable Bitcoin correction looks like before declaring anything.
