I haven't followed Nem in many months. What are the reasons it became so big? Would love to get back in it, anything new up coming?

Despite the ninja development and behind the scene's B2B marketing, people are slowly starting to realize that the NEM platform is one of the most advanced applications of blockchain technology and is extremely well positioned for rapid deployment to solve real world problems with many valuable use cases. The PoS algorithm that secures the chain avoids a lot of the issues that haven't been addressed by PoW and the upcoming upgrade to the core architecture (catapult) will increase it's lead over other platforms even more.

I am building a solution for anchoring Certificates (degrees, diplomas etc) to the blockchain and the fee decrease is exactly what I have been waiting for. It is awesome news!

It's already there, it's called apostille

Are there any news regarding Catapult? Havent looked in here for a while.

Also waiting for more news on Catapult - feels like ages since it was announced. Hopefully soon. Should kick the XEM price up a bit...

Yeah, I mean - its about time. They must get their marketing on point as well.

DeepOnions for the WIN!
Fees REDUCTION wooohoooooo  Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

Now sending 100,000 USD is as expensive as 38 cents

This is one of the best things that could happen on the short term imo. I was already getting annoyed by the high fees for sending lately.

Let's hope the exchanges follow swiftly.

As Tehfiend said, it is much better to use delegated harvesting.
there are also some tools for automating the process: http://nem-tools.com/#/harvesting

Thank you , I will try doing this because I had problems with nanowallet delegated harvesting

Standalone client NEM_NCC_NIS 0.6.93 can't run the wallet "runMON" , it seems that file "nem-monitor-0.6.93" is missing . Could someone fix it? Thanks

NCC has been discontinued. The new NanoWallet is a lot better: https://nem.io/#clients

Can you do local harvesting with Nanowallet?

Nope. Harvesting with your private key is a big security risk so it's highly recommended to use delegated harvesting to protect your stake. Takes 6 hours to transfer your importance to a delegated private key via the Nanowallet.
