Typical pump before dump. 6 cents or lower - new dip in this month is matter of high possibility. However this may be flash crash, so it could be not easy to catch. I have renewed strong position @around 10 cents, but i am waiting patienly for even lower prices for longterm accumulation. Without longer period of accumulation no huge uptrend will be in case of XEM possible, only erratic moves without specified direction and noise to provoke impatient specultors to sell lower, what they bought higher.

Ouch! I am too behind on crypto news since the market slump. So Lon Wong is already out as head of NEM? He is the founder so is he still officially part of the team or not? His project is still using the NEM network. Any story behind?

Lon is still very much involved with NEM and is working on his own project to extend the NEM ecosystem called ProximaX.

Regardless....

Ive seen so much "Drama" like this in Crypto and everytime, it works out to be the best time to buy, often the "drama" is blown out of porpotion and actually used to drive down prices.

Mark my words....    If you are in XEM HODL, ignore the Drama.  If you are looking to Buy, fill your boots ! IF nothnig else, chart looks perfect!

Started at the bottom!

Why would POI voting be fairer when those with a low balance would have little say?

Because self-interest is always trying, and PoI is directly proportional to self-interest, that's why private enterprise is usually better than bureaucracy in getting things done efficiently, with some notable exceptions like public goods.

Are you saying that those people who have more PoI, have also more to lose in the voting, and that is the reason why they will try to make wise votes?

That may be true, but there is also the risk that if the PoI's are too concentrated, then the votes may represent too narrow or too short-term visions.

Yes, PoI  is directly proportional to self interest in making NEM successful, skin in the game. It doesn't mean good decision making is directly proportion with PoI, but it does remove a lot of stupid elements that often make public sector decision making so frustratingly idiotic when decision makers deploy other people's money and assets.. Until humanity reaches a new plane of enlightenment the safest assumption is the vast majority of people act in their own self interest, therefore the best system of governance is one that aligns the interests of investors with those making decisions.

Council members will act to further their own interests, if they are there because a lot of XEM voted for them they will act to make that XEM more valuable, so they keep their position. If Council members can get elected without much XEM holder support then we will have problems when their personal interests are in conflict with the value of XEM, so we could expect the same inefficiencies as the government sector, big salaries, lots of overseas travel, people more worried with personal power and influence than making NEM price rise, which is the ultimate result of good decisions,  increased adoption increasing market price.

By the looks of things no more than a couple of hundred people have registered to vote because the whole process is so fucked up. There's a good chance many of them will be identified as sockpuppets. PoI would've been a better move until less stupid conventional voting could've been put in place.

Are you going to apply to be part of the foundation?

I made plenty of offers to help in the deep past. All were ignored.

Throw this in with how crappily these elections are being run - far too rushed, not PoI voting, 500 XEM fee, and plenty of evidence of new signups being paid - and the foundation's looking distinctly tinpot.

Pretty much everything people have been moaning about forever has just been confirmed.

You should run for a Council spot, NEM needs independent opinions at the top.
