NEO will certainly grow, but bitcoin will be able to grow out of spite. I think there will be a new coin, even better than this one.

Surpass bitcoin no. Challenge bitcoin in overall market share, possibly yes. I really love NEO. I think they have potential to become the number one smart contract platform overtaking eth. I like NEO because of the originality. They were the first to hold two ICO'S. (They done their ICO before the market blew up so only raised a million dollars but look how far they have managed to make it stretch, puts modern day ICO'S to shame imo) They were the first to introduce a another token to run the platform in the shape of gas tokens because they understood people would be unwilling to spend NEO tokens because its an appreciating asset. On top of that they have a huge chance of catching etc because of the range of languages you can write smart contracts on the NEO platform. Eth is limited to solidity which is an uncommon language for the everyday programmer. NEO lets you use python and java script which will blow open the doors for DAAP developers. Another reason I think Neo will surpass eth is because the NEO platform is very expensive to run so only serious ICO's will launch on their platform so the quality of ICOS on Neo will be far better than on eth.

Can Neo overtake bitcoin. In market share yes this is possible. Its only a matter of time before bitcoins overall market share gets surpassed but this is not the end of bitcoin just a evolution in the market. Smaller cap alt coins are attracting more market share.

I believe NEO is a very promising coin with a very clear and impressive roadmap, a good mix of team with active community supporting it, and project plans.
However, despite it all, I don't believe it can surpass bitocoin in just a very short while as next year. But maybe in 5 years or o.

NEO is a very good coin and I invest in it. I believe that the price of NEO can go up very high. But even despite technical superiority this coin will never be able to displace bitcoin. I have no doubt that bitcoin will be able to remain a leader in the next few years.

You may have a point but Think about how advance NEO than ETH and the GAS to be received upon just holding it. ANd then also mind the billion of Chinese people supporting NEO. These reasons I guess are the ones you should be absorbing as ETH don't have these features.

I think Neo can surpass or any other chinese coin, but all depends on chinese laws, if chinese lift the ban and fully supports miners,icos,crypto then it will be boom.

NEO may become fourth after ripple and eth, but dont think it will ever surpass them. there are just too many other tokens that rely on ETH rather than NEO, who knows whether that'll change by next year though, but I would be putting money money on ETH to beat bitcoin first.

I can't agree that NEO will surpass the Bitcoin soon. NEO is a great coin and has good prospects.  I believe in its success but while it is not feasible.

2019 is too far away to make such predictions. It's quite possible that NEO might surpass Bitcoin one day if bitcoin will lose it's popularity and people will finally see not only hype but what's really better.

Why NEO? It doesn't sense to see neo can be considered as a serious rival to the bitcoin. At the same time there are some better candidates just like ripple because it has so many banker supports.

The probability of neo surpassing bitcoin is very small. Year 2019 is too early for neo to surpass bitcoin. Even ethereum will have a difficulty surpassing bitcoin in 2019.

All active coin, promissing and potential can surpass bitcoin. As people know, nothing is impossible in cryptocurrency world.
If the project has active team and also has experience, no doubt it can be good competitor for bitcoin.

I also think the NEO can't more than the bitcoin, because of the bitcoin has a much larger community, and the bitcoin has received recognition in many countries, and a strong competitor of NEO merely ETH.

Neo is an endlessly good project, but it's worth hindering the gift of God with scrambled eggs. These are completely different projects and are not comparable. It will not surpass Bitcoin  because bitcoin has a big community than NEO and Bitcoin is the most stable cryptocurrency above all. It will not consider as a king of cryptocurrency if you can dethrone Bitcoin that easily. Better compete with Ethereum first and if it is successful then try to aim to be the number 1 in crypto.

I am a big fan of NEO too but i think it is not possible to surpass. Bitcoin has more adoption and well known. But i am happy if it's price could reach 0.1 btc
