Would any verge supporter like to explain this? Negative balance: https://verge-blockchain.info/address/D7sbycsrSQpj6AjfjsHPb54fvEzN6JH3fp

this thread gets too much watered with intention by the XVG fanboyz. Putting all important unanswered questions at the end of the topic until it's answered .....

what are you? 10yr old?Did you even know how to read. It seems so much hard for yaall to comprehend simple info.
NEGATIVE BALANCE IS AN EXPLORER BUG !!
go to prohashing explorer instead of official vergeexplorer.

Its an explorer bug .most probably the iquidus one.
Try using other explorer.

Its normal

Also if you want answer from verge dev then check his previous post.

No, it's not an explorer bug.

Why should anyone accept the answer from the known liar, fraud and/or totally incompetent (not sure yet which) Verge Dev?

It appears to be a bug: https://prohashing.com/explorer/Verge/D7sbycsrSQpj6AjfjsHPb54fvEzN6JH3fp/

I'd still like to hear an explanation about the most recent attack. Giving a 'moving along, nothing to see here' isn't good enough.

There was a significant drop (90-98% difference) in difficulty for both Scrypt and Lyra2RE. Justin, can you give a detailed explanation of what happened there?

Since the chain trust is only based on the length of the chain and not cumulated work, wouldn't it be quite easy to perform a double spend with much less than 51% hashrate?

On the original chain, send e.g. 10M XVG to an exchange.

While you wait for confirmations, start mining an alternative chain where you step down the difficulty by fakeing the timestamps. This should still be possible even though the maximum drift is changed to 10 minutes, it will just be somewhat slower. In this chain you include a transaction which invalidates your original transaction. Even if you only have e.g. 5% hashpower, your chain should eventually get longer than the original chain as it has much lower difficulty.

After you have converted the XVG to BTC on the exchange, you submit your privately mined chain to the network, and as it is longer than the original chain, it will cause the nodes to reorganize to your chain. Am I missing anything or would this be completly possible?
This would also make it possible to perform the attack with extremly limited ressources as you don't really have to compete with the honest miners.

that wouldn't work because the invalidation would also be accepted.

Could you expand on what you mean by the invalidation would also be accepted?

If you on your private chain sends the coins to yourself instead of the exchange, you will still own the coins when the network reorgs to your chain after you brodcasts your blocks.

OK. This 'XSH copy' shit worries me as a big XVG holder/fan.

I really think the VergeDev needs to answer directly to the accusations and questions mentioned here.
Some show links to codes where XVG is copying another source. Other say the drift fix came 1 month after another coin had the same code!
so what is true or false?

I would like a true explanation from the VerdeDev without the usual 'LOLL'ing'. This is serious business.
The biggest partnership and more to come but you need to be professional about your product and be straight!

So is it all FUD or does it have some truth?
I want proof please.

Verge dev has provided proof numerous times all this timestamps posts being shared only shows the half truth. After the first attack verge dev committed and reverted a code on  github that some Shield Noobs are claiming to copy. So it practically was committed and reverted and then the second exploit happened, so he had to push the code that was reverted back after first attack that he should not have revert it at first place. In the mean time shield copied the Verge code and pushed the same commit ( that verge dev reverted after first attack)to their repo between 1st and 2nd attack on verge . Hence they are claiming that verge dev copied the code. Its just a publicity stunt. So they are whining abt the credit thing.

whatever its not correct, but in the end it is not Shields problem. their chain is working with their fix. verge one did not, it even forked the chain and made a attack possible twice.

shield devs even do not interact in this discussion, i think its their community which is scared verge will copy the whole codebase because there is huge chance that it will happen that way.

like when verge mentioned the switch to 0.16 ?

i just leave verge after the 1:1 copy of the Shield fix, because the dev even do not know that this fix cant help him and is only for the xsh blockchain working.

so this point proofs me he just copied it and has no clue what he is doing. Secondly timestamps do not lie.

People saying vergedev is trolling but he has just no clue, he is asking here to understand the problem but he do not get it and wont fix it at all.

i can told you what will happen, after new hacks and panic the dev will copy xsh open source code and verge will switch to close sourced project so nobody can tell what happend, otherwise verge will die by unfixed solutions.

but closed source will let die the project too, so at his point you can say verge is doomed the one or the other way.

and please tell me somebody for how long vergedev admit new codebase 0.16 like 4 days ?

First Shield Forked from Verge and then they claim of Verge dev copying the code? Cool story dude. 😀
Theres only one way to find out abt new codebase copying. Lets wait for both codebase to release. Smiley

it's amusing to me that you people act like this matters in the long run 'at all'..... way to go short term vision... lol cause every other coin on earth hasn't had an issue from time to time lololololol

No other coin son earth were hacked several times through the exact same exploit that was supposingly fixed. As an investors, I wouldn't put a cent into a system which isn't proven secure.

Several times doesnt means twice btw. Its more than twice. Verge's blockchain has been exploted twice. And yes i mean exploit ! I wonder where were ya'all when bitcoin had many bugs in its early days and when it was hacked, exploited or whatever you wanna call. Verge is basing codebase to bitcoin 0.16
Anyways its your opinion, your money. I wish you good luck with your future choices Smiley

Bitcoin was never hacked twice in 2 months with the same exploit and their devs never ignored people when people pointed out that a fix wasn't enough. Anyway, Verge is going to copy the rebasing from Shield GitHub and we'll all have proof of this because of the magic that is timestamps. And then we'll show you how the verge dev copied the rebasing effort from Shield GitHub. And you'll call it FUD cause your comprehension skills are 0.

Again. Verge hasnt been hacked this time. Yet you keep goingon and offtopic. To the shield thing, lol ask shield devs , i have heard they will have their code private. Please enlighten us how can Verge copy the code being private 😂😂 btw LTC and many other copied BTC. Go fud urself.
Height of stupidity can be seen in your post.
Btw i still call it FUD.

No, Shield team says Shield v3 will be open source, and released in a few weeks. But Verge has given no timeframe for their upgrade.

So Verge can just wait for Shield to release Shield v3, and then steal it straight after and lie about it, just like they did with the drift patch.

And that's exactly what will probably happen  Smiley

Hey Sunerok, learn how to code, and stop scamming your holders.

You mean VERGE is copying/plagarsing Shields code when its released (bitcoin 0.16). Verge is nothing but a scam. Their dodgy so called Wraith protocol, it with was nothing but stealth addresses , DNR has this already. Then the whole super duper secret news, which ended up being with pornhub. who in their right mind pays for porn. Sunerok pumps to get the price up and without a doubt he would dump a shit load of coins. He is playing all of you. And of course now the exploits in the code, 100% orchestrated imo. He just doesnt know how to fix it until Shield releases Bitcoin 0.16

Of course and XVG are so inefficient, they copy/paste stupidly the xsh code , but it cant be efficient , as it make attack unprofitable on Shield due to low block value , but cant be on verge with 730 reward ...
and they affirm have made it ? lmao ...
to their place i will but my head in a whole for a long time.
At least it make comes to scene the XSH who deserve all sees.

Good afternoon! How can I get more information as an investor, are the project developers reliable and trustworthy?

I would say DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH bcoz here you will get biased advice. Do not take advice from anyone regarding investment in cryptoverse. Especially bitcointalk thread, reddit is cancerous. Have a good day.
DYOR by coming into our telegram chat so we can brainwash you. Also make sure you don't look at Reddit or this thread so you can remained brainwashed. There, I simplified it for you Smiley

It hasn't been hacked yet, but it will happen. It was attempted today. Their code won't be private because that's going against what crypto stands for. Yeah LTC and many other copied BTC but they credited them in the code. Your dev does not and there are multiple examples of this.
