Good for you OP, this is why other people always advice gamblers to ask friends and family to help them fight gambling addiction. Because they are those who will really make you realize what you've gotten yourself into, sometimes they know you better than yourself, and they are the only people who will help you realize that you are already in the wrong path. In case of the OP, his daughter is his most treasured relationship.

Playing "online" is a very lonely practice, which can sometimes take to the bottom of your emotions and not even realize the bad habit like playing on the phone. Yes there are some who are lucky and when they gambled more, they won more but this isn't the case for most of the gamblers out there. Gambling what you can afford to lose sometimes leads to regret, disappointment and then after that it can lead to depression too and worse it can lead to.....

We do start up from scratch and yes, it would really need for us to experience for us to learn and mistakes are inevitable since we do still lack
of knowledge on how thing works but overtime as long you do engage on a certain thing you would surely grasp the idea.

Gambling is never meant to push yourself to be profitable and this one is really just for entertainment purposes but people are just overexerting too much

Not if we don't have experience, how can we play gambling? beginners will certainly have difficulty how to play even bet always but there we know and learn from the meaning of experience so people can be lucky because of the situation and don't be surprised if the experience is a direction for them to play more serious gambling instead of entertainment anymore.

That's a big check. Gambling is risky, every gambler should know this. As for me, there's a lot to learn when gambling if we just open ourselves and be realistic all the time.
Of course except learning how to play as that is basic, everyone of us has to learn that to enjoy the game, what's important is we learn to be responsible because being responsible would make us make good decision when we are gambling, regardless of what situation we are at.

Why I stated being realistic?

Because it's very important that we gamble based on our plan that when we need to stop, we have to implement that without hesitation.

If your goal in gambling is only to earn profit or easy money, it will be very difficult because there is a possibility that your expectation would only turn into a disappointment, especially if you are a newbie because beginners luck is not true when you are playing gambling. I am not sure if he is really an addict yet. It's depends on how much he gamble the rest of the day. And if this happens every night or once every 2 weeks. Also the betting size would play a role I believe, if it's only micro amounts it should be better than playing for large sums.

How many people are watching TV or youtube on the laptop to fall asleep? I wouldn't call them addicts. Or how many people are watching memes and other funny stuff on their phone while trying to sleep? Sometimes it's just hard to fall asleep, make sure it's not every night.

All comes with experience. The more inexperienced we are, the more emotionally we react to things that are important to us.
