I do borrow money to my wife to fund my gambling because my salary still few days ahead while I saw a casino promotion that has a very good rewards feature. I always borrow an amount that is within my range of my salary so that my wife will allow me to gamble.

I’m not doing this frequently and I don’t see something wrong on doing this. I’m proud that I don’t have any gambling addiction problem even if I sometimes borrow money because I never didn’t repay my wife or else I will be sleeping outside our house.

To clarify things. Borrowing is not necessarily bad when use for gambling but most of the time people that borrows for gambling purposes are addicted that’s why this kind of discussion is always being generalized.

Why I brought this topic it's because so many people are still paying debt, why? Because they went ahead of borrowing money just to gamble and by the end of the day, they lose it all.  I know of a friend who is still battling to pay of his debt while he used the money on gambling. Is it proper no. What are the main points of gambling?
(1) CONSIDERATION
(2) ANY AMOUNT WAGERED.
(3) RISK (4) CHANCE AND A PRICE.

With you knowing this elements, you won't bother to go to the extreme of borrowing money to gamble. So have you borrowed money to gamble? If you do please take notes of this and stop it.

In fact, we have had a lot of discussion about the theme you initiated in this thread, so let's just discuss the point you posted. Firstly, point 1 is the opposite of what I apply to my betting. why, the reason is simple, for me the ratio of losing is greater than the probability of winning. although, I am a sports betting type of bettor. This is an important point for me personally, because to win the game apart from knowledge, insight along with experience, luck is an equally important part, although usually the type of gambling that I like is sports. So, this is why we need many variables on how to get around it in order to minimize losses.

2, this point should be a guide or rule for gamblers so that they are not too naive in measuring emotions and desires when gambling.
3, we agree, but basically gambling requires discipline to be controlled. To be able to control, someone needs experience, understanding, knowledge, awareness and responsibility. if these aspects are involved, then we can discipline ourselves to bet within the limits only we can afford.
4, this point goes back to point 3, we are required not to spend more money than we can afford to lose. The problem is, does losing on the first deposit have a big impact on our finances? If not, there's nothing wrong with making a redeposit. However, with the rules, also include points 1 and 2. Ideally, if gambling is no longer possible for me to continue, for example because of work, losing too much or spending too much time, that's where we have to be aware of the rules that serve as guidelines or principles for our gambling.

However, in fact, not all gamblers can limit themselves consistently and with discipline. although, we have bound it with the rules of the game that we apply. Gambling is complex for me, easy to explain simply, but difficult to implement simply. the essence of it all, it all depends on a person's responsibility towards his gambling.

You have valid points here and I believe gamblers here knows very much about all you have stated. Gambling as we all know is something we do for fun and entertainment. In as much as it is, there are still those who see it as a means of making profit which in the real sense it is not so but for the fact that they win in the course of betting, they can take it as a source of income for themselves.

As a gambler, one thing you should know is that gambling is a risky engagement and as such, we are advised to gamble responsibly and with spare cash we can afford to lose or we make budget for our gambling so we do not exceed our gambling limit per engagement. With this alone, one should know that borrowing to gamble is not idle and as such, one should never engage themselves in such situations because you never can tell the result or outcome of result and how it would be.

I have come to realise that gamblers who go after loan to gamble are mostly addicted gamblers.  This is very dangerous because there is every possibility that the same result they got that made them go borrowing would also likely make them go borrow again. And they doing this does not have any guarantee that they would or could win a big game but sometimes it is just the urge to chase their losses that makes them go borrowing funds to gamble.

If you see gambling as a business opportunity, why not? Sometimes I do borrow money when I see a game that I believe I could won, but I always limit on how much I would only borrow, and I have to make sure that I'll be able to pay it from my income just incase my bet would be wrong.

This may look like an irresponsible action, but like I mentioned, when i see it as an opportunity, I don't hesitate borrowing, and I think there's nothing wrong with that as long as you know how to pay your debt.
Now this is where we will move into addiction and chase money from gambling which is dependent on luck, our logic will think we can pay back the money we win through gambling, at one time burning ambition and we instead chase the money we have lost through gambling which ends in a very bad thing.

Using our own money in the norm needs to be limited and not to be impulsive especially using borrowed money that will jeopardize our finances, because it will lead to borrowing habits and that is not a good thing in the financial world even though you have a job and a large enough salary, it will discredit the principle of responsible gambling in us.
It all depends on each individual, we cannot measure the level of enjoyment, however, we should not ignore all advice on gambling. There is nothing wrong with borrowing money within a certain limit, as long as we are able to pay it back at the promised time. It's true that borrowing money to gamble is basically not good, it means adding to existing difficulties. At a stage that can be controlled, and does not have a negative impact on loss of financial responsibility, it is still understandable. However, in simple terms, gambling is an activity seeking pleasure, stopping when the situation is no longer under control is a must.

There are quite a lot of real examples around us, personally I also often give loans to several friends who I know are gamblers, but within limits that are not excessive. I'm also sure that similar things don't just happen in my circle of friends, there are lots of people who do similar things in their circle of friends. It's true, we should be wise in spending the money we have, and also wise in setting limits. Try not to let a gambling addiction make a person out of control, either emotionally or in his actions.

You are just wasting your strength, all gamblers know the rules but some of them are just born stubborn, their ways are "only one way to find out" if they don't fall at first they won't learn, how can I be advising adults about not taking a loan when starting to gamble? You don't have to tell anyone, they already know, even kids in my city knows that loan is a trap.

If any come asking if they can take a loan I won't advise them not to, normally what they expect is you telling them to proceed, and even if you tell them not to they will still do the same thing, everyone knows how unsafe loans can be but something they are special humans, they can find their ways through.

It is possible if you are lucky but gambling doesn't have a lot of room for luck, so don't go out there looking for one, instead focus on having a good time and risk a small amount of money, this is a practice that a responsible gambler will do instead of chasing the impossible.

I don't necessarily agree that borrowing is bad as long as you have the means to pay the money back. It all depends on the situation and amount, some circumstances may not be favorable to the lender but they make that decision when asked for money.

Borrow other people money is not recommended for playing gambling because we never knows if we can wins or lose in gambling. When you lose, you will lose that money and must repay the money but if you don't have any money, you can't repay that money. That will makes you in trouble because lender can asks you every day to you to pay the money. Playing gambling is not for makes money so you don't have to borrow money from other people because you can gets a problem. It's better you uses your own money and just playing gambling moderately so you don't have to gets any problem. Many people still borrow other people money because they wants to wins in gambling so they thinks that by using other people money, they can wins but the truth is they will still difficult to wins.

I used to do this, and it was never a pleasant experience. You are ruining your gambling experience. You will never enjoy the game, and there's always pressure. You will think you have to win because this is money you can afford to lose. In my case, there's additional interest if I delay my payment.

I'm glad that I overcame my temptation to take a loan to gamble. One rule that you should always remember is not to take a loan to gamble, even if someone is tempting you to do so.

There are loan sharks in physical casinos and they are preying on weak gamblers who have a mean to pay them even with huge interest, and they do this to lure them to continue playing

All the points you conveyed are good suggestions where indeed by having such a mindset and approach, gambling will not have a bad impact on a gambler, on the other hand I understand that even if you have a good mindset and approach to gambling but still for the name of defeat you will definitely experience it, but the difference is that when you have the right mindset and point of view in terms of addressing how gambling is actually then at least the amount of your loss will not be too significant or will not be as much as the amount of loss experienced by gambling addicts.

Borrowing money to gamble is of course a ridiculous mindset and will harm yourself, gambling is not an activity that should be prioritized, not least because there is always no certainty for anyone to win while on the other hand the possibility of risk will always lurk you, and this is why we are always advised not to treat gambling in an excessive manner.

If you ask me, I would say never borrow money at all for any reason not just for gambling, debt can eat you completely and speaking it from personal experience. Debt is good for the rich because it can help them to avoid taxes but definitely not good for an average joe who is desperately in need for money then the bank or some loan shark offer you money just to trap you than anything else.

Gamble for fun, keep it short so that you can avoid addiction even though you are rich and can afford to lose more.
borrowing money for urgent needs may be different. although it will be a problem if we have to try to return the money, but for very urgent events, maybe that's what should be done.
but in the case of gambling, borrowing money just for the sake of gambling is stupid. This has become a bad addiction, causing them to push themselves beyond their limits in gambling.
This is a bad thing. it can harm other people around the gambling addict. Even if you are in a losing situation and no matter how difficult it is, never try to borrow money to gamble. it's a red light.

these points stated buy you OP is very valid and even such that if adhered to it most likely would get the gambler to be a better gambler, borrowing to gamble is a sign of irresponsible gambling which even the casino usually do advise against but then sadly most gamblers both newbies and even the ones seen as the experienced gamblers sometimes fall victims of not keeping to these rules and they just end up keep loosing their funds and sometimes get into trouble due to the fact that they weren't lucky enough to win and eventually get to be able to pay up such debt. no reasonable gambler should even consider borrowing to gamble as something they are supposed to be doin because they don't have any form of assurance of how possible it is that they will be able to win bet they did placed.

No good and responsible gambler is goin to see borrowing to gamble as an ideal thing to do because they are very much aware of the consequences if eventually the get to loose such bet because with gambling, you can never be too sure of what the possible outcome would be so you would be doing everything based on probability which is a clear indication its not ideal to borrow just to be able to gamble

It’s not always borrowing will lead to addiction per se especially on the context of borrowing which the user express. He is just borrowing money which he can afford to pay which is fine as long as he is responsible for his debt.

Borrowing will go wrong if you borrow an amount that exceeds to your incoming money from salary and other income just because you think that your bet will be a sure win. You are already pertaining to actual addiction with your statement while the user example that you is just control borrowing.

And you know what? there's already bunch of topics created that pointed out gambling for fun and never borrow to gamble, but the fact there's always a person that will do it.

There's a difference between you and gambling addicts.

Even you borrow money for gambling, you still have jobs and you can make sure that you can pay off from your income. While gambling addict sometimes didn't have any jobs and their income didn't even afford to pay off the debts.

These are quite reasonable points you have given here and we have seen many this kind of post here advising people and teaching them the dangers of not abiding by these rules but people don’t seem to follow them but the importance is to pass the message even if it’s just one person that heed to the advice then it’s worth it. A lot of people are affected by not gambling responsibly and they now see gambling as their only way out borrowing moeny to gamble and chasing lost funds allowing greed to take over their games which is very wrong.

(1) DON'T FORGET IF YOU PLAY YOU CAN ALSO LOSE

(2)FOR YOU, GAMING MUST ONLY BE A HEALTHY FOR ENTERTAINMENT.

(3) DON'T SPEND MORE MONEY THAN YOU CAN AFFORD

(4) DO NOT GAMBLE TO WIN BACK MONEY THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY LOST BY GAMBLING.

(5) DON'T LET GAMBLING INTERFERE WITH YOUR WORK OR WITH YOUR DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES.

(6) REMEMBER THAT GAMBLING IS NOT THE IMPORTANT THING IN YOUR LIFE. DON'T LET GAMBLING AFFECT YOUR FAMILY LIFE OR YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

(7) SET YOURSELF A BUDGET AND DON'T EXCEED IT.
When you start gambling with an amount you can afford to lose that’s where the problem comes from, you will not believe its a game of win and lose and you will not want to lose and whenever you lose you will start chasing after the lost money to recover it back because you used an amount you didn’t want to lose and from there greed begin to step into your game as you will want to win huge amount to recover all lost funds at once which will lead to losing more money and as you lose more money you begin to exceed your budget and even go as far as borrowing money just to gamble and start gambling to payback your debts and even when you win you won’t be able to clear your debts as you will want to double your winning with the amount won and gradually lose it all again and from there you start developing gambling addiction which is very bad because it will interfere with your daily responsibilities.

Gamble responsibly fellas…

If you see gambling as a business opportunity, why not? Sometimes I do borrow money when I see a game that I believe I could won, but I always limit on how much I would only borrow, and I have to make sure that I'll be able to pay it from my income just incase my bet would be wrong.
It is irresponsible and not a wise move no matter how certain or tempting the opportunity maybe you shouldn’t consider borrowing money to gamble, if the opportunity is yours it will come when you have money to spare. Aside that i strongly condemn borrowing money to gamble so pls you should consider changing your mindset.

We should remember that gambling should always be approached with common sense and responsibility to ensure it remains a form of entertainment.
If you are joining gambling, just have it in mind that you are gambling for fun, if you think gambling is a place where you can easily make money, then you are already approaching gambling wrongly, that’s why most people do end up doing crazy things just for the sake of gambling. I know you can make money from gambling, but making money shouldn’t be your primary aim of joining gambling if you really don’t want to be addicted to gambling. Most of the people that are addicted to gambling are the once that are just desperate to make money from gambling.

Borrowing money, especially if it will only be used for gambling, will not lead to anything good.
Am not the type that do encourage borrowing money, but if you will take loan, then it should be for something that worths it, not for gambling. It’s totally wrong to take loan just because you want to gamble, if you take loan to gamble and you lose, how are you going to repay back the loan?

Do not borrow money from anyone, no matter how much you need it, even if you are in trouble. By simply lending money, you will be like a prisoner in a cell, and the person who gave you the money will be your jailer, and you will be forced to bear a much greater burden than your problem.

Asking for money to gamble is stupid and the gambler who puts himself in this situation is a stupid  loser and does not know anything about gambling.

The consequences of asking for money in gambling are always dire and cause the gambler to drown in debt, and he may be exposed to all kinds of violence and engage in settling accounts, and the matter may reach the family and relatives.

It will not help you with your goal of earning money because you just borrowed money means "debt" and it will lead you to debt accumulation, if you lose the borrowed money, you will still need to repay that.
That's why I am really against the people who will rely on gambling to solve their current financial problems, it's not helping overall.
Borrowing money to gamble is of course not the right choice to overcome the financial problems we are experiencing. To be able to solve financial problems we have to do work that can provide us with income so that we can solve our own financial problems.
Taking out a loan to gamble is of course very risky and it is very unlikely that someone who borrows money to gamble will then be able to pay it off and if they experience a loss it will of course be difficult to think of a way to pay and it would be good if someone who wants to gamble has their own money and doesn't do it too often so as not to experience unwanted things.

Of course, however making gambling as a place to solve problems and then borrowing money to be used as gambling capital is basically clear that it is an idea that will only bring someone to a much worse situation, first of course they will never be able to successfully make a lot of money to overcome financial problems in their lives, and secondly by borrowing money to use gambling then there is a possibility that they will eventually get into debt and thirdly there is a possibility that they will be depressed or depressed when it turns out that it causes more serious problems in their lives.

On the other hand, solving financial problems by using money may be considered, but solving financial problems by making gambling a place to solve these problems I think that is a mindset that is really far from realistic. And obviously there is no other way to be able to overcome the problem, namely by working as you said, which means finding a job that really has a guarantee to provide you with income, and one of the reasons why gambling is really a bad choice to overcome financial problems is because however and until whenever gambling will always be a game that has no certainty and guarantee to always produce wins which in addition there are risks that can be very high.

God is great
First remember that you have to play with common sense and responsibility, to make sure that the game is always an entertainment. Knowing this won't make you go to the extreme of borrowing money to gamble. And you have to know the golden rules of gambling. Which are!
Just having only this in mind is not even enough, having understanding that gambling is very risky, unpredicted can help to reason well to make good decisions to gamble with the amount that you can afford to lose. One just need to learn not to be greedy because some decisions some people takes in playing gambling is as a result of greed. For me I think if one can be able to handle greed and understand the risk I gambling,  it will be difficult to make bad decision of gambling with a big amount just to double it.

Gamblers also needs to understand that gamble is not a hustle by seeing it to be hustle you would want to put all your mind in it as the only medium that money can be generated from. Those who takes debt to gamble don't believe their money can be lose, I think they believe double of what has been used to gamble can be gained as return. Taking debt to gamble is the worse gambling habit that one can found himself, because in a gambling lifestyle like this you are so talking about the challenge of addiction too.
